It's a manual process that takes a lot of energy on his part, so he's definitely not going to be able to go around freeing a bunch of mind controlled/possessed people with ease or anything like that, but I wanted to ask if it would work at all in this situation.

It sounds like the brands will be asserting a constant influence, so would this be a case where his powers only temporarily alleviate the condition?
