He has self worth low in proportion to how much he loves his friends, which is hyuge amounts, but he'll never admit it out loud because that's mortifying. He likes to cook. He kept a photo album of the team dog and no one else. He has resting jerk face and a mean right hook but under 1mm of Gruff Mean Guy he's the softest person on earth. He once pretended to be asleep to get out of a conversation.
NOW AFTER being here for a month and change, he's having this weird experience where people like him and being around him and tell him this, to his face? So weird.
Abilities:Castor, the Persona. Castor hits really heard and that's about it. He carries the Evoker around with him everywhere so that no one can accidentally find it, perhaps that will come in handy..... during this event..............

GEN: I will Always welcome and cherish friends for Shinji!! Pasting this part over again too: he does well with the aggressively friendly type so that he can grumble about being pulled into Situations without having to admit that he enjoys the company. He's also an overprotective big brother type and, like, a mom? Like, he will make sure you eat your veggies? If you need this kind of energy in your life please lmk. He will also be your anime rival (tm) if you really want.
EVENT: Leaning towards Shinji staying unbranded so that he can do some Daring Rescues and develop Meaningful CR through that avenue. If anyone he knows gets fucked up by branding he will Be There for the big rescue fight at the end, rest assured. This is also a great excuse for me to bust out Castor and get crunchy with his complex about his Persona... also your character could meet a big horse monster guy thing... consider it.
Also, "The side effects from the branding / marks can be nullified when another person demonstrates an act of selflessness for the benefit of the afflicted." let him do this let him do this
