MOD UPDATE

The news you’re all been no doubt waiting for! We have selected two new mods to join our team! We will make the formal announcement on who they are in next month’s SOTG, but in the meantime they’ll be getting settled into their positions this month. Kri will still be helping for the month of March while our new mods settle in, and then will be stepping down officially in April.

FEEDBACK/PULSE CHECK

From general feedback from the playerbase and from the new mods, we’d like to get back on track with the way we used to run the game. Admittedly, there was some burnout from the modteam, but with new and fresh perspectives, we’re pretty confident to bring the game back to back to its roots, which made it successful and fun to begin with! The holiday mod semi-hiatus lasted a little longer into the new year than we would’ve liked and we apologize for that.

Some things that were mentioned during the conversation between the new mod team: making the way decisions and character actions matter in the game, bringing back interactive NPCs, and just generally getting back on that metaplot train that we’d stepped off of for the past few months. We’re also considering a slightly different timeline for events and Sentencing, so that plotting will be easier and players feel as if they have more time to enjoy the game and have better ability to plot for them.

FOR EXAMPLE: Events potentially moved back a week to the first Monday of the month, instead of the second, so it'd more consistently be around the 7-9th than the 13-15 that we’re at now. Sentencing signups could potentially be moved towards the end of the event month, so that Sentencing can go out around the first of the next month. That way, those selected can put that in their PWM comments.

That being said, we’d like to hear from you all. We always say that, but so far as the tone of the game is concerned and specific themes that you all have loved in the past and the direction you would like to see the game go, we’d like to hear about it. We’ll be putting up a poll for those who’d rather do that, instead of commenting. Those who want to comment can also do so on that post!. We want as many players as possible to participate!

REWARDS

We’ve decided that obtaining memories from a previous stay, instead of getting them a little at a time, will all come back for a total of twelve proofs. For those that have already submitted proofs to regain a memory, all we’d ask for is the remaining three proofs to regain the rest of the memories from their previous stay in Aldrip.

AI FRAGMENTS

Please let us know (or rather, remind us) who has fragments of the AI! We know that Root, Ragna, Quentin and Fandaniel have parts of it, but if there are others please let us know, so we can get the ball back rolling on that plotline as well.

THIS MONTH IN ALDRIP

Things start to get still, like the calm before the storm. The locals start to get more dodgy. They start to become more scarce – even those that work in player’s businesses start to not show up to work. They shut themselves up tight in their places of residence…

Almost like animals right before disaster.

The environment seems to shift, for the month. It’s almost as if the cycle of the world has been thrown off its axis – days are getting shorter, instead of longer. There seems to be general cloud cover at all times, making Aldrip look dreary. But at least it’s not cold! But the air just seems still.

Again, the eerie calm before the storm.

Black lines start to appear outside of Aldrip, not exactly coming from any certain location. Instead, they just seem like they’re… popping out of nowhere? Maybe they’re coming from the ground. It doesn’t come into Aldrip proper – it seems to be stopping just outside the outskirts. Characters who attempt to touch it or observe it may feel a sense of wrongness or impending doom.

No big deal, right?

The environment is affected too, by these lines that seem alive. Grass and plants seem to shrivel and wilt near it, making the ground inhospitable to life. That’s not concerning at all, because it's definitely not affecting food that might be grown outside the city or anything...

It’s fine. Everything’s fine.

A LOVE NOTE I'm not going to make it longer than it already is, but we love you guys so much. Here, Jenni voted for a cute dog this month-
