Yeees, definitely! I love knight-type characters expressing and grappling with what the principles of knighthood are and how to fulfill them when their world isn't interested in them, or when they've been twisted into something else.
Oh man. Ethlyn's feelings on her kids are a little fraught right now, because another Choice she made was to bring her two-year-old daughter close enough to the battlefield that she was also caught up in the ambush that kills Ethlyn and her hubby--so she has no idea if her daughter is alive and her infant son is now motherless. :'D And so she would do her best to carry on a normal conversation not talking about those particular circumstances, but it would probably... not last very long. (Which is to say I'M ALL FOR having them talk about kids and she really will commiserate over the normal part of the woes! Knighthood + parenthood is no easy thing.)
