haha that's fine! star trek is pretty pervasive in that way, for sure. but that being said: he would definitely be keen to show an eager student through some of the basics, especially if he's sincere in his earnestness. i have a few ideas for him re: technology and fiddling with it, so he'll certainly be available to serve as IT haha.

that also said: yeah! he's going to be scanning so many things... collecting data on so many specimens. maybe accidentally blowing something up in the process of an experiment at one point, who knows. he doesn't mind extra hands!
