Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

NOVEMBER EVENT SUMMARY

SOMEHOW SCIENTISTS FUCK THINGS UP AGAIN

Be careful on whom you experiment, as they say. (No one says that.) Thanks to some interesting choices made by Bondrewd regarding Ryoji Mochizuki, Aldrip becomes a chaotic world-changing state. On November 11, the town of Aldrip is plunged into the Dark Hour. This is to be paired with a PLAYER PLOT run by Novas, Jin, and Jade (Kotone). Participation in the player plot is not required to experience effects of this event! They’ll be posted as two separate logs, but the player plot will take place at the same time as the event effects.

What event effects?

Aldrip is cast into a week of night-darkness, though the moon (was it always this large?) casts an eerie silvery-green glow over the city. Electronics will not work, save for player-created electronics (such as STEM’s dark web devices). There will be an increased monster presence across the city. In spite of this, NPCs seem to go about their normal day, as if nothing’s actually happening…even though some of them are being eaten by monsters? Huh. That’s weird.

In addition, characters may find doppelgangers of themselves around town. These doubles reveal a dark reflection of the characters they look like: their deepest fears and regrets, repressed desires they refuse to admit, feelings and experiences they’ve never told anyone about…all of these things come to the surface with these doubles. These doubles desperately wish to see a character’s accused crime confronted, and they will do anything to make that happen, even resorting to violence if they must. The doubles have all the original powers and abilities of their real counterparts, making them extremely difficult to fight one-on-one. Confronting the double and accepting or seriously reflecting upon the crime they’re charged with will make the doppelgangers first turn docile, and then disappear, leaving the original character feeling lighter and more sure of themselves.

Here’s where we see how Aldrip and Expiation can often change things, because the Dark Hour won’t work exactly as it does in its original canon. Rather than one hour per day, this will occur at first over the course of one week. Anyone who chooses to experience the Dark Hour can take part–if you don’t want to, you’re welcome to make use of Persona 3’s iconic coffin structures for a week-long nap, but there will be plenty of safehouses as well, if you’d rather have your character hang out in safety for a while. Safehouses will include the Inn and some other player businesses, such as the clinic: they, along with maybe a few other locations, will be completely unaffected by the Dark Hour The event comes to an end on November 18 when the player plot “bosses” are defeated. As for any lasting effects of the Dark Hour? That remains to be seen, but we’re sure it will be fine, in the end. Everything will be fine. 🙂

Crime: Despair

Background: Fandaniel here is a whimsical, flamboyant, eccentric fellow who thinks in theater metaphors and loves talking, moving, and dancing. He tends to be very playful with people and even when he is acting more subdued, he is more lively than most. He's also an ancient energy being currently hanging out in the corpse of a dead samurai twink.

When he was mortal, Fandaniel was a scientist and was exceptionally brilliant even by the standards of his technologically advanced society. He specialized in "aetherochemistry" and technology. His hobbies included cutting the heads off rival court mages and replacing them with the heads of dogs, theater, reading, building techno-kaiju out of bound demons like this fucking thing, and torturing dragons while wiring them into a giant moon battery that forced them to summon their god. As one does. In short, he got into a lot of straight-up nonsense. The dragon moon battery worked out well for the world, though. Nothing famously horrible happened with it.

Anyway, these days Fandaniel might have an outwardly lively demeanor but beneath that, he is crippled by centuries worth of despair, righteous fury, and extreme self-loathing. His main agenda is to die and stay dead and make sure everyone else also dies and stays dead. After thousands of years, he's decided that life has no purpose other than to promote suffering so he intends to end that suffering with his own hand even if it means acting against everything people think of as "good". Everyone ends up dead anyway, so let's all die!

TL;DR VERSION: Flamboyant energy being. Acts like a clown but is actually very depressed. Mad sadist who delights in torment. Hates you, hates himself, hates the world. Really wants to die. Also part-time comic relief despite all this.

Abilities: As an Ascian, Fandaniel can do the following:

• Conjure shadow chains and bind people with them


• Possess dead bodies (but he has to return to his current vessel after a time)


• Chuck spells around like a wizard


• View the memories of others by observing the person while they are remembering something


• Fly


• Create objects with his own aether which he usually uses to create clothes and disguises


• Teleport


• Communicate regardless of language barriers

Also, he has no shadow. Weird, right? Probably nothing to worry about.

It's worth noting he rarely uses his more combat-focused abilities. He doesn't like fighting unless he's very sure he can win.

His greatest "ability" is his intelligence. He's an obnoxious turbo-genius.

Plans: Okay so for this event the resident mad scientist might be up to a lot. He will probably offer the Aetherochemical Research Facility as a safe haven but with the technology not working it will be insanely dark in there. He will use magic to create some light but folks might want to bring their own light sources if they can.

He will have a very hard time with his doppleganger trying to force him to confront his despair. He will have to either deeply reflect on his despair or explore the part of himself that clings to a shred of hope that someone will prove him wrong about life not being worth living. So. Heavy stuff for Fandaniel this month! Expect him to try to laugh it off at first and make it worse!

...Also he'll be killing Bondrewd. Possibly a few times. For science.


How can you run into my character? He lives at the Aetherochemical Research Facility, which is also where he does his research. When he isn't there he's out around Aldrip. Fandaniel hates every living thing but he is very nosy so he is NOT hard to run into.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Fandaniel is usually a playful, whimsical eccentric and as much comedy relief as a villain but this character can get very intense. Themes around him include suicide, despair, existential horror and hopelessness, nihilism and extreme self-loathing. You can read more about this on his OPT OUT. Please do not hesitate to opt out of interactions if you want to. I understand some of this character's themes are more heavy than people might want to deal with in RP.

Background: Fauna has had a really, really shitty life. But now she's a transforming superhero and trying to make up for the evil she did before! Yaaayy!

Fauna is, uh, extremely aggro as a person. She's starting to relax and chill a little here, but she can still flip to hostility very quickly. She's got strong moods, and is almost entirely ruled by her emotions. Hot-headed and hot-blooded.

Abilities: She's a transforming superhero with three different forms! A fox onmyoji form, an owl ninja form, and a lion samurai form. She technically has a different-looking human form for each of her transformed states, but she doesn't use those often.

Plans: Fauna is chilling out! She's moving into the X-Mansion, joining Scott's TWAT club, and she's going to show up to teach everyone how to do cool poses for their abilities. That's vital.

With the Dark Hour event, she is going to definitely meet her Shadow, who is going to be more or less Fauna's exact opposite. Guilty, sad, just wants kindness, much more open and less guarded. I would love to see anyone who knows her come see this!

How can you run into my character? Right now, she's mostly just spending time between the X-Mansion and patrolling the city! Anyone who comes for the Danger Room can find her there, or she can just be poking her nose into the business of whoever is in the city.

Crime: Helplessness.

Background: Just a totally normal teenager who is appreciate of life and humanity as a whole and loves connecting with others! He's a sweet guy like that. There is something more to him, something that's practically cosmic horror in nature...and all of Aldrip will find out about it this month!

Abilities: While most Persona guys can summon a Persona, Ryoji is more or less is a Persona - his true form is that of Death, and his powers are pretty much reflective of that. He still can't transform into his non-human form though, thanks to a self-inflicted psychological block.

Plans: HOO BOY SAY HELLO TO THE START OF THE SHOW HUH. You'll see what exactly would be up with him once the player plot comes out, but the gist of it is that he'd be a damsel in distress at the meantime. Come save him?

After the event Ryoji would have full knowledge of his role, memories, as well the ability that comes with being Thanatos. He's slightly more accepting of who he is now, although being some kind of non-human entity is something he would have to adjust towards.

How can you run into my character? Ryoji hangs out on the clubs the most, particularly on TWAT (Scott's Teenagers With Abilities and Talents club) and the Cooking Club. He also just got a job as a waiter in the Seafood Shack. Otherwise he's pretty much around town all over, looking up hobbies to try out and the like.

He can resurrect the dead. He is learning about fun. He once wiped out every major nation on the planet. He can fly. Right now, he's learning how to live without punishing himself for his crimes and support the people of Aldrip.

Background: WHEEZES DEEPLY deeply distressing childhood trauma occurs (i joke, but i also do encourage anyone to check out the cw section of clint's prefs/permissions as his background is not a fun time), followed by running away to the circus! here, after one failed father figure, clint barton attaches himself to a further TWO shitty father figures, one who teaches him how to use swords real good, and the second who teaches him how to shoot arrows real good. both were involved in crime, one tried to kill young clinton, it was all very terrible etcetera etcetera.

clinton stays in the circus, throws a hissy fit about a legit hero (iron man, btw) saving people from getting injured and uh CHECKS NOTES stealing attention from clint, decides to become a superhero, immediately gets mistaken for a criminal, runs away, meets the black widow, genuinely goes:

HOLY SHIT YOU'RE SO PRETTY UH GUESS I'M GONNA BE WITH YOU NOW

and promptly commits crimes and almost treason because REAL PRETTY LADY (nb. this is a recurring theme).

ANYWAY, clinton is a superhero! with no powers! but he can shoot arrows real good! and also use swords real good! also he's slept with, like, at least one member of every single team he's ever been on, because the guy cannot keep it in his pants and he is distracted by a pretty lady. also, once, he got married after nine days.

he's the dumbest piece of shit.

also, fwiw, i solidly prefer gruenwald through to nicieza re: characterisation with a dash of fraction as "oh, yes, you've just gone through the worst several years of your life and are dealing with it TERRIBLY", but i really don't care for lemire, or even fraction, as a baseline of how clint is day-to-day outside of those specific character arcs.

friends, he's earth's greatest marksman. he just, like, doesn't like guns. he has a whole speech about how arrows and archery is more like a love letter than shooting a gun. HE'S AWFUL. please be prepared for his stupidity. he is not a smart man.

Crime: Getting involved in Organized Crime

Background: Tsuna was once a bit of a loser, bad at school and sports and no real ambition to do anything. Then one day, a two-year-old who is also the greatest hitman in the world shows up on his doorstep, telling him that, due to family trees and mafia shenanigans, he is the next heir to the Vongola mafia family. And then Reborn, the hitman, shoots Tsuna in the head with a magic bullet that gives him super powers and we are off to the races. Eventually the series transitions from a gag manga to a battle manga, and Tsuna matures a little bit, learns to fight for what's important and grow into a leader who is one day going to reform the mafia. But he'd really just like to have a normal life.

While his scope might be more limited than your average shonen protagonist, Tsuna is very much a shonen protagnist, dedicated to protecting his friends and doing his best to help where he can. He can come across as a bit of a wimp and tends to panic easily, but when his back's against the wall, he pulls through as someone who can be relied upon. He doesn't ask for trouble but it follows him home anyway.

Abilities: Tsuna's main source of power is his Dying Will Flames, which are a source of energy that allow him to call upon his Dying Will to fight. He can use the flames to fight and fly mostly. His flames are Orange and have the power of Harmonization.

Plans:
-Probably Ill-advised but Tsuna is trying to reach out to the AI. He's not expecting a response.

-He's still a little shaken from the Carnival, so the Dark Hour is only going to make that worse. But also Mafia Boss!Tsuna is gonna be walking around. He'll probably be a lot more stern and power hungry, and just generally colder than Tsuna is. An effect of the world he's now part of changing him rather than him changing the world.

-Additionally, there might also be the version of himself that remained a loser.

-Tsuna has only told a few people he trusts about the Mafia thing, and will probably be running from safe house to safe house to avoid his doppelganger. But he also won't hesitate to rush in and help others if they need it. Even if it is pulling them to safety.

-Probably going to be at the TWAT club

-He'll be helping Claude out in the apothecary. Who's to say how that will go? (But hopefully well)

-Needs to be training, isn't.

How can you run into my character? Tsuna can usually be found at his house, the arcade, or the club building. He's usually up for anything.

Plans: She just got here and I'm a big fan of playing things by ear, so I've got nothing yet! I'm just looking forward to having her poke around and gather CR. She is not going to have a fun time with the doppelganger situation. She's also Root's bae, and I'd love her to meet people who already know her girl!

How can you run into my character? She has no routine or job established yet, and she's in that initial exploratory period where it'll be possible to find her pretty much anywhere in Aldrip as she scopes out her surroundings, but the entertainment district is most her style; she likes bars and nightclubs! She'll also be drawn to the docks, to scope out the criminal element; crime-fighting has been her lifeblood for the past several years, but she's also been known to dabble a bit on the other side of the line.

Background: vash is just A Normal Guy from the times of great human expansion to outer space and due to A Series Of Unfortunate Events currently living his life as a lone gunman in a spaghetti space western on a desert planet. he isn't suspicious i swear!!!!

Abilities: does "looking so pathetic and spineless" count as a skill because that's it .... but um he has survivor skills/outdoor skills/good with gymnastics bc he dodges bullets every day/can eat weird things/good at sharpshooting but making it look like sheer luck.

Plans: i'd love to build up some new cr with people as well as continue to expand and develop existing cr! if we've threaded in the tdm, i'm happy to count it as game canon! let me know if you want anything otherwise though uwu!! please come at me with any handwave ideas or anything fun you guys might like with this goof, he's honestly pretty easy to run into because vash is the busiest busybody you'll meet! currently he works at the farm, the casino, the flower shop, other npc businesses (honestly if anyone needs help he is there)

plus this month he'll start a handyman / odd jobs do-everything business with Aether startraveler details to be pending and an IC post will come out on the network uwu so please give them some jobs to do, they will take anything from looking for lost items to repainting your house!

1. with the electronics not working, maybe some fun shenanigans could happen with his arm malfunctioning? this can be as hilarious (rip scott's wall) or not as hilarious (man_standing emoji)
2. doppelganger ... not really sure what i'd wanna do with this exactly but i am down to play some uncanny/creature like vash w creepy glowy in the shadows stuff if you're into that! his real self will probably be running around trying to save people from any disasters, so if you need him to swoop in and whisk you away tarzan style i'm down for it! alternatively, let him confront their darker selves and try to talk them out of it (uselessly)! anything goes with this for me and im down for all ideas :')

Crime: Ignorance -- currently leaning towards their reluctance to learn things about themself or push for more answers on their past

Background: Dante comes from a dystopian hellscape of a city known as... the City! They lost both their head and their memories at the start of the game and now get the joy of having a clock for a head and being the manager of 12 very different individuals on a quest for items called the Golden Bough! Along with other things of course.

They've gotten used to the Manager role over the near-year that they've been working for Limbus Company, but they still stumble and trip over it from time to time. It's also done well to highlight their self-esteem and codependency issues!

Project Moon's universe can be pretty fucking dark, so if you'd like me to avoid certain subjects in that universe or would rather not interact with Dante at all, please feel free to hit up my opt-in/out here.


Abilities: Dante is primarily a support main, and much of their abilities are limited to the 12 Sinners of Limbus Company. However, they can...

• Create a bubble of slowed time around themselves. This slowed time effect works on everyone except Dante, leaving them the only one moving normally (Sinners who aren't here aside).


• Sense Abnormalities/Distortions/Peccatula/locations of the Golden Bough -- in Expi, I've expanded this to be more for abilities based on emotion/the heart/subconscious. I have an opt-out post here, if you like! It'll give some examples of what I'm talking about too.


• Putting Fathoms of Ego diving on hold since we've got a Persona event happening atm! But if you'd like your character to have a trippy memshare with a group at some point, feel free to let me know.

Plans: Dante has started up a business of sorts starting just last month that mainly looks to do/assign people to do odd jobs, perform expeditions, and procure items for others for pay. They're essentially trying to follow the examples of Fixer Offices from their world while leaning more toward the Limbus Company Bus Dept's Golden Bough procurement. Combining what they do at home with what they know of managing and all that. Crime: Vanity, defined as an excessive desire for the admiration, recognition, or worship of others. This form of toxic self-love harms others and frequently manifests itself cruelly through the person's actions.

Background: As a member of the Bohemian Calamity, Rosenkrantz fights evil forces in the ever-changing Dreamscape of Rea Monde, the Realm of the Guilty. The current Dream Witch leads Calamities as its secondary leader, while Rosen serves as the group's primary combatant. Luna summoned Rosenkrantz as her arkana, or summoned warrior. He is one of Luna's most powerful summons, wielding the fabled Lúin of Celtchar, also known as the "Blood Spear," a bloodthirsty and fiery spear known for gradually devouring its wielder.

While Rosen might look like a supermodel who weightlifts as a hobby, he’s actually a bit of a slacker who dislikes working and enjoys lazing around drinking. He isn’t the slightest bit modest about his appearance, often talking about his good looks just to be annoying. He’s a bit embarrassing sometimes, especially since Rosen loves to brag about himself. However, this is just the mere surface of his personality. While he can be considerably charming when he wants to be, there’s a dark side to his personality that sharply contrasts greatly with his easy-going persona.

Combat is one of Rosen's favorite pastimes. He enjoys fighting more than drinking, and he frequently seeks out strong opponents to challenge. However, his enthusiasm for combat is not entirely genuine. He enjoys watching his opponent suffer and appears to derive sadistic pleasure from inflicting pain. When faced with powerful opponents, Rosen makes it his mission to crush their spirits in the most brutal ways possible, frequently torturing them to near-death. While Rosen is not afraid to get his hands dirty, he refuses to kill an adversary unless absolutely necessary. That is, assuming they are not a Knightmare of some kind. The only creatures not spared death are the Knightmares, who haunt the living's dreams. Those creatures must die, and Rosen will do everything in his power to fulfill his duty. (more info: here)

Abilities: Goodness, Rosen has quite the kit available to him. Thankfully, nothing truly game-breaking but still something to keep in mind.

the power of vainglory

Fire Manipulation
Rosenkrantz has the ability to produce, manipulate, and even generate every variety of fire that exists. He may even produce a towering inferno to burn within minutes by causing the quick oxidation of materials by chemical combustion. He can also adjust the intensity of the fire, sometimes even producing a "cold flame" to cauterize wounds. While the hue of the flames might vary depending on their heat, he usually casts the red, hot flames that most people are accustomed to witnessing.

He mainly employs his fiery abilities when wielding a powerful burning red lance capable of reducing most steel to ash. Rosen is capable of wielding this lance with ease, without fear of the flames burning him. He is completely impervious to all types of fire damage, including dragon fire. Rosen can set fire to his lance with merely a thought, causing flames to spread across the weapon like an inferno. He can also employ his magic for non-combat purposes, such as lighting beacons and cooking food. Rosen can even create small familiars out of fire, but when they reach their limit, they vanish into a puff of smoke.

Inhuman Strength & Agility
As one would suspect, Rosen is stronger than your average person. While he’s not strong enough to lift a mountain or two, he is capable of punching through stone and rock with relative ease. His inhuman strength is an asset to him in combat, especially when facing off against the monstrous Knightmares that haunt the Dreamscape. It’s because of his strength that he has a remarkable sense of durability since it takes a lot to injure him.

He’s also shockingly agile and often likes to perform deft-defying feats in combat. While he’s not faster than a speeding train, he’s fast enough to ricochet projectiles off his lance. It should also be noted that he’s exceedingly flexible as well, enough to make a Yoga instructor quite envious. He can detach his joints at a whim in order to slip through cracks and small spaces.

Willed Immortality
When the going gets tough, Rosen gets tougher. As the Arkana of Vainglory, Rosenkrantz is capable of willing himself from the brink of death by reincarnating himself on the spot. This ability literally allows Rosenkrantz to endure the most egregious injuries that would easily kill a normal person. He can survive being disemboweled, dismembered, and even pierced through the heart with this ability. However, his vainglory abilities come with a dangerous caveat since every time he uses this skill, he loses a piece of his memories.

While he can survive being horribly mutilated and slashed to pieces, every resurrection causes his memory to fade. If he uses this ability too often within the Dreamscape, he risks the chance of erasing himself from existence entirely. This ability is a double-edged sword that Rosenkrantz doesn’t take lightly. While the ability to negate his own death is a powerful one, it’s not something he does often.

Plans: With the increased monster presence in town, expect to see Rosen do what he does best—monster hunting. While the town folks seem to be glitching out, Rosen is going to be taking out his frustration on these poor monsters for the hell of it. He could use a buddy or two, especially since he isn't Superman (ehehe~ I think someone apped Superman recently too)

Though Rosen could definitely use some help if he comes across a doppelganger of himself. That would be rather...disastrous, especially since Rosen is already a "monster" in his own right abilities wise. So having an evil(er) doppelganger of himself would be rather interesting. (This also gives me the solid excuse to draw the doppelganger of Rosen with black hair and gold eyes instead.)

How can you run into my character? Rosen is going to definitely be exploring around town, especially since he'll be looking for a decent place to stay. Also, Rosen probably is going to be job hunting soon!

She's kind of a fighter and now has to live on her own for once.

Abilities: She strong. Rumiko-esque strong, but kinda like. A little more than a regular person, but not world ending.

Plans: Ryuu's convinced there's someone to beat up at the end of this, so she's gotta go find 'em. Otherwise she's gotta learn a lot about the world, herself, and dealing with people who aren't pieces of shit. She'll probably find her doppelganger out causing problems, overplaying how much of a strong guy she is.

Background: Koharu is a cupid who works under the goddess of love! She's a little reserved and quiet, but can come out of her shell once she hits her stride, and isn't the most confident of the bunch. But she is sweet and friendly, if you need a friend. Or like, a puppy to kick. Both are valid.

Abilities: Again... cupid. If you want hijinks and shenanigans that involve ♥falling in love♥ for... some reason, Koharu's ya girl. She also has wings and is technically, in theory, capable of flight—she just... hasn't learned how to yet.
Also learning how to use gun. Is she a pro? No. But she can do it.

Plans: I'M BIG NEW SO LIKE. I just want to throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks, so right now I'm gonna focus on building cr and getting into nonsense and see where that takes me! I'd love to dig into the plot of the game, if anyone is willing to drag a newbie down with 'em, but other than that it's 'see where and how I settle into things'. Background: Silco is the best dad ever. The End. Okay, to add to that stunning description, he is a violent crime lord from an industrial city underground and has been plotting an uprising to gain control over the city and wrestle it away from the corrupt sister city called Piltover. He uses drugs to fund his operation and subjugate his own people, but he believes absolutely in his cause. Of course, that was derailed when peace required him to give up the one thing (person) he was unwilling to. And then he died defending her.

Abilities: He is a normal human with normal abilities, but he is also extremely cunning, intelligent and vicious. He also operates from the shadows best.

Plans: Currently, Silco is in the process of trying to control trade in the city of Aldrip. He owns quite a few businesses, so if your character is looking for employment, come work for crime daddy. Eventually, someone will look more into him and probably discover the fact that he is racketeering hard in Aldrip, but he does so smartly so the Council hadn't come down on him yet.

For the event, Silco will be around. He has basically little combat skills, so he will be running away from monsters and will be in a good position for saving.

He will be opening a strip club/brothel in the city called Shimmer & Shine. Anyone can come and enjoy some time there if they are legal age (and for Silco, legal is very subjective....). During the week of darkness, people can come and take refuge there, have a good time, try not to spread any STIs.

I am considering the doppelganger event too. His doppelganger may advocate for harsher sentencing and crimes to be leveled against Silco. He already accepts his current crime and leans into it, and I think it would be interesting if other Chosen perhaps get a taste that he is FAR worse than he lets himself currently appear to be.

How can you run into my character? He can be found at any of his businesses (The Last Drop bar, the Flower Shop, the Tailor, the Sandwich Hut and the Seafood Shack). He will not be found at the Forge openly. Otherwise, he usually frequents the network, but since that will be down, come meet him lurking in the streets. He's actually easy to set up a thread with because he can reasonably be placed anywhere in Aldrip.

Background: A nonbinary (he/they) mutant and member of the X-Men, Morph is a superhero who's done things like have an evil stint after coming back from the dead, fought giant robots AND terrifying cyborgs, scrapped with villains who are often also mutants, etc. (Also there was some real soap opera level drama going on with half the team, which if you know anything about the X-Men is pretty standard tbh). Morph is the sarcastic jokester of the group and the resident cameo machine, but they have a good dose of trauma in their background due to heroics gone wrong and were absent from the team for a few years due to that whole mess.

Abilities: Shapeshifting into people and animals with the added benefit of copying physical abilities. Also, they're made of goo. I have a permissions post for long-term impersonations here.

Plans: Morph is not going to be in a super great mood this month due to things happening with their CR, and the event definitely won't help. :') I'm open to them either helping with other people's doppelgangers or for anyone to run into Morph's own double!

In particular Morph's double will look like this instead of their usual gooey form - it's a version of their human disguise that looks perpetually exhausted and sickly. Other than going around berating Morph for being a liar and a faker, their doppelganger is vicious but prone to tricking people into dangerous situations rather than attacking outright, and they'll be likely to do it to anyone in Morph's general vicinity to force Morph to respond. If Morph has CR with your character or knows something about your character's past, the doppelganger will absolutely take the forms of friends or family to lure someone into danger. Otherwise, the double will instead take the forms of pedestrians or NPCs who obviously can't handle a fight. That might not be a real child that's surrounded by monsters...

How can you run into my character? Morph is one of the few people living at the X-Mansion and can provide help with the Danger Room if anyone needs it. They also work at a bouncer at The Last Drop so you can expect to find them there a lot of evenings/nights.

Background: Mid-thirties CEO of an international company whose previous stint as a magical boy went so poorly he pivoted to plans to destroy the world. Very good at pretending he's a pleasant type on the outside. He recently took an orphaned magical boy under his wing to use him against his friends (don't worry about how he was orphaned), which ended up having unpleasant consequences like feelings. Uh oh!

Abilities: He's just a regular businessman, you guys. Promise.

First and foremost he automatically blocks any supernatural sensing powers: anything outside of the typical human baseline will react like he's not there. Any technology that tries to record him while he's using magic will also fail. He can't turn this off, either! So I'm looking forward to that messing him up sometime. Please make it weird for him.

Secondly he gives off a magically charming aura that tends to make people like him more. This will work on local NPCs but obviously it's player choice for other Chosen, which will annoy him. Yay!

He's also got a fancy transformation he will be keeping under wraps for some time. Other powers: temporary teleportation portals, hypnosis commands (think jedi mind tricks), breaking/warping stuff. Also he can create crystal monsters that have various powers of their own so that could be fun sometime. Expect to see one of these big-dog-sized guys around sometime soon.

Plans: GONNA GET A BUSINESS. or two. at least two. That's more long term though; this month he's going to be getting a better sense of the place by Investigating daily life, local businesses, the courthouse, and anything else that catches his eye. I'm thinking a small log is probable? For the event, at most I might tag out some, but he'll be mostly staying at the inn and pretending to be a normie.

Also he makes a great mentor, if anybody needs one of those :) business wise, life wise. Really. He's willing to get involved if someone appears to be in trouble, just because he likes being helpful 😇

How can you run into my character? See above? He'll be re-acquiring a mini version of his company from back home shortly, but he's going to be pretty much everywhere this month in order to get familiar with the town and its inhabitants. That means YOU!

Background: I'm sure most of you are at least familiar with Clark/Superman in passing: gets sent away in a ship by his alien parents before his planet explodes, is raised by kindly farmers in Kansas, grows up to become the OG superhero. However, this version of Clark is not only younger and less experienced (he's in his early 20s), having only started out as Superman at the beginning of the series, but for most of his life he's been in the dark about his origins and has only recently come to terms with his Kryptonian heritage. He's also kept people at a distance for a long time due to being afraid of being rejected for not being human, and as a result he tends to be awkward and anxious (and it's not an act, he really is like that), but he's gradually made more friends who know his secret--not that he's all that good at keeping it a secret, since he's too honest to be an effective liar. And of course, his desire to help people is still there, whether it's a cat stuck in a tree or a whole city in danger from a rampaging kaiju.

Abilities: Along with the classic super strength/super speed/bulletproof/flight combo, Clark has super-hearing, heat vision, x-ray vision, ice breath, a bio-electric aura, and the ability to survive in space without oxygen.

Plans: I'm new here and I generally like to play things by ear, so I have no concrete plans so far, though I'm toying with the idea of him running into a doppelganger at some point. Clark is willing to get along with anyone as long as they're not actively harming people and showing no remorse for it, so I'm very open to CR of any kind.

How can you run into my character? Again, since I'm new, I can't say for sure yet, but if there's trouble you bet Clark will be running around trying to help out somehow so that's an easy way to run into him.

Background: riku only-sort-of-accidentally destroyed his homeworld and let himself get possessed by darkness billy zane for fun and profit, realised a bit too late how bad of a decision that was, and has spent three years making up for that decision to varying levels of success. his redemption has finally ticked over into a net positive (self-imposed; his friends forgave him ages ago). also his home got restored its all good.

so right now hes doing much better! like his impression of himself is still Bad but were internalising that now rather than being a dramatic solitary dumbass about it. jurys still out on how healthy that is but hes learned to communicate at least!! he is friendly - if a bit awkward - but has thin patience for antagonism. his canon point means he is at peak pining for his best friend who has been missing for a year!! hes supposed to be out looking for him because even presumed death wont stop him from finding sora.

theres a competitive streak and a pretty good sense of humour in there, too. riku likes learning and rolls with the punches pretty well due to his history and status as a world-hopping defender of light. its pretty difficult to phase him. sorry in advance if he mentions something clearly traumatic way too flippantly.

hes also besties with michael d*sney mouse so. yeah

Abilities: wields a giant magic key sword. casts spells pretty well, including healing and all kinds of elements and Darkness. a lot of Darkness. strong and fast and can teleport dodge. hes a jrpg deuteragonist!! all that good stuff.

Plans: im easy breezy. i love positive and negative cr both and i looove writing combat so getting him into scuffles is high on my priorities. rikus a difficult guy to get to know well, so some cr with characters where they can bond over things and work together would be great.

Oh boy. When I saw you post on the TDM I almost screamed lmao. You have no idea how strongly I also felt the KH pull and came so close to dust off my ancient Sora account. But then I realized I had forgotten so much about KH lore kldjlkdsj. So, only one that I currently have is Richard. He's shoujo version of Shakespeare's Richard III. And while he is no ball of sunshine and idiocy, he does walk around wearing a black cape with hood, while spouting cryptic bs about Light and Darkness.

Background: Well-educated skunkrly investigator working for the MPD's Advanced Brain Investigation Squad (ABIS). He has a reserved and gentle nature, but a strong sense of justice. Displays an unyielding determination to perform his duty and prove his worth, a habit which can sometimes backfire horribly, because he can't handle stress very well, and often turns to drowning himself in alcohol to cope. Has been dealing with a form of PTSD that manifests itself in the form of hallucinations, episodes of disorientation and memory lapses for a couple of years, as the result of witnessing his twin younger brother's grisly death when he was 17.

Abilities: He's skilled at parkour and gunfu?? But aside from that, no superhuman powers.

Plans: No solid plans quite yet... besides trying to be more active this time, and praying that I don't get KO'd by life again. (/knocks on wood)
I hope to indulge in some DIY angst and explore his mental issues since canon did him dirty. With his AI partner gone, he's more prone to spiraling into self-loathing. CR with those willing to befriend him or try to steer him towards healthier ways of dealing with his issues would be especially welcome. Bonus points for drinking buddies. Still, I won't say no to any kind of CR, including negative.

How can you run into my character? Until someone/something helps him deal with some of his emotional baggage, he'll probably be that drunkard hitting bars as a coping mechanism when things get stressful. He also tends to take refuge in any form of nature to unwind.

Background: The Scott Summers that is more easygoing because he didn't have a terrible childhood. The mutant boy that's always wearing red sunglasses!! Still a shitty teen sometimes, but recently been trying to be more responsible after taking leadership of the X-Men. He's taking that pretty seriously, along with any training. Usually means well and decent at making socially awkward teens feel normal or whatever.

Definitely a little more at the crossroads between being a normal teen and training to be 'cyclops' in the future. He's been here for over a year and a half, whew!

Abilities: optic blasts, not heat based, pure concussive force. sadly can't control them. :< also recently got a powerup to summon a small phoenix persona/familiar that can shoot little fireballs and definitely nowhere as near dangerous as in the comics. he's slowly accepting this and not freaking out.

Plans: I plan on tossing up a mingle log sometime next week for his club known as teenagers with abilities and talents (TWAT). So if your character looks like a teen and has some ability, even if it's like being really good at poker, feel free to join and make friends! Look Scott isn't picky he just started this because he was lonely and wanted to meet others like him.

Background: A traveller from another world, who used to traverse the universe with his sister. The two of them searched for a world to call home, but when they arrived in Teyvat, they were separated. Aether wishes to reunite with his sister and to understand why she decided against travelling with him like they used to do.

He's an empathetic individual, reliable, but pretty secretive when it comes to himself.

Abilities:
- Not a human, Aether is some sort of long-living alien being
- He's good at sword fighting, very fast, very confident in his abilities
- He can use powers of the elements, for simplicity sake he will stick to Anemo (wind) element here

Plans:
- As mentioned earlier, Aether is going to start an odd-jobs business with Vash skelters ! Please make sure to give them all kinds of silly tasks to do. Aether himself with side-eye anyone who will try to get them to do anything questionable so that also may be fun!

- I'm very excited for the event, since it's a perfect opportunity to bring Aether's doubts to forefront. He is always trying to stay positive, but the truth is he has a lot of doubts that his journey has no meaning, that his sister doesn't need him any more. Also perfect moment to make him admit that he hides a lot of things from people! Also idk fighting may happen.

- I really want to deepen his current CR (probably using the event to force Aether to open up haha), but I'm also looking forward to making all the new friends. And enemies. Some negative CR would be fun, too!

How can you run into my character? Doing odd jobs, running around, exploring, probably climbing up places he should not be climbing, talking to random strangers, attempting to befriend cats. He's really easy to encounter.

Crime: Destroying the world. Y'know, normal stuff.

Background/Personality: The world's most wanted criminal with the highest bounty in history on his head ─ a feat he's achieved by going around the world attacking and destroying various government facilities and killing hundreds of soldiers, earning himself the nickname "Grim Reaper". Generally speaking, he's kind of an asshole: he's rude, grouchy and cynical with hair-trigger temper that often leads to a rather liberal use of violence. Thing is, despite his deadly reputation and outward grumpiness, deep inside he's actually a genuinely kind and caring guy who'd do anything to protect his loved ones and always puts their happiness and well-being before his own (sometimes to a fault). He just has tons of emotional baggage that makes it really hard for him to actually open up.

tl;dr: he's a big dumb edgy tsundere with trust issues, do with that what you will.

Abilities: You can find the full summary here, but here's a short and sweet version:
- skilled in hand-to-hand combat, as well as sword fighting
- has access to a wide range of spells called Ars Magus, which technically aren't magic, but would probably appear as such to someone unfamiliar with the concept
- has ridiculous regenerating abilities that allow him to survive and more or less shake off most injuries that would otherwise be fatal (they still hurt tho)
- his personal special ability (aka Drive), Soul Eater, does exactly what it says on the tin: it allows him to absorb souls/life force of living things around him. He's got it mostly under control, but touching him or even staying around him for extended periods of time puts one at risk of him involuntarily sucking the other person's life out of them. Also, using it drastically decreases his own lifespan. Oops.
- should he ever lose control over his abilities, he's in danger of turning into a giant, world-destroying monster, but don't worry. It's fine. He's fine.

Plans: No concrete plans for the event yet; he's always down to fight, though, so he'll probably be around killing monsters and such, so if you need some help with that, he's your guy (even if he bitches and moans about it). He kinda sorta agreed to participate in the fighting tournament, too. It's the No-Chill November, everyone.

CR-wise, I welcome all of it, be it positive or negative! (I know, I know, very creative.) I'd especially like to find some people patient enough to stick around with Ragna despite his... everything. As much as he wants to keep people at an arm's length, persistence in dealing with him is the key to getting yourself a surprisingly loyal and protective ally. Eventually.

Or just go ahead and antagonize him, that's what everyone in his canon does anyway.

How can you run into my character? Ragna lives in a church in the outskirts of Aldrip, but can also often be found hanging out at the Last Drop or any other of Silco's businesses, since he's kinda sorta working as the man's bodyguard.

Canon Point: Chapter 67, that special time in his life when he, his friends, and his new pet murder fox are about to go on their very first undercover school trip together.

Crime: Ignorance! The boy has lots to learn.

Background: Until the age of thirteen, Kabane lives a destitute life of neglect and abuse because he is part kemono. A half human, half ghoul monster. He's saved from this fate when Detective Inugami is hired to kill him. Instead, Inugami fakes Kabane's death and brings him to Tokyo to work as an employee of the Inugami Detective Office. Along with the other wayward orphan kemono Inugami has picked up over the years, Kabane dutifully works any job a client asks of him and stumbles into all sorts of hijinks along the way.

Kabane himself is very cute but very difficult. He likes you and wants to be your friend, but he also has no tact, no real concept of social norms, no self-preservation, and no reason to doubt anything that anyone tells him. He's just here to have fun and act as your meat shield.

Abilities: Kabane is immortal! And his regeneration abilities mean he can heal any wound as long as a teensy tiny bit of his brain is still around. He also doesn't feel pain. Have fun with that.

Plans: I don't have any plans or goals for Kabane. I'm just here to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Good cr, bad cr, found family cr, morbidly fascinated cr, it's all fun to me.

As far as the event is concerned, I probably won't give Kabane a doppelganger for himself, since nobody even knows the real Kabane yet. But I'm very down for interacting with the doppelgangers of any potential cr! Mayhaps he can even go on some monster hunts with people.

How can you run into my character? He's brand spanking new, so he will be wandering aimlessly all around until he gets his bearings. He could even accidentally walk right into some poor stranger's house. The possibilities are endless.

Plans: Town suddenly full of monsters is familiar to Levi and he's not going to be happy about it. But he'll go out hunting monsters/saving people in town so if you want to fight with him, be saved by him or possibly save him let me know.
I am not yet sure what to do with the doppelganger, but his is likely to be dark and full of his content warnings.

Crime: Matricide - the murder Mystique, who he knows as his biological mom.

Background: He's a teenage mutant who looks like a fuzzy blue devil. That's caused him to face a lot of strife back home, so he wears an image inducer as a watch which can use a hologram to make him look like a normal human. He's become a bit dependent on it and insecure about openly showing off his real self (though he's softened on that almost completely in-game). Generally he's a friendly guy with a goofy sense of humor who can try too hard to fit in and overdo any slang he knows. He also has more baggage related to his family issues and complicated feelings about his biological mother.

Abilities: His most prominent one is teleportation. Two miles is his hard limit, but he also needs to know or see where he's going for safe teleportation. He can also cling to walls/ceilings and has a prehensile tail, along with generally boasting acrobatic abilities and general combat skills.

Plans: First of all, I posted very late to the last event, so here is Kurt's top level there if anyone still wants to do things there.

For this month, things are up in the air. It's sentencing season for Kurt! He's been sentenced to seek out someone among his "friends and companions" who has done some wrongdoing and bring them to the courthouse for trial. And his body is slowly turning into stone as long as he ignores it. Which is what he's been doing since he doesn't trust whatever trial would happen and doesn't want to endanger his friends. He's likely been hiding it, but the stone-ification should have gotten more obvious by now. So it will likely come down to his friends and whether or not anyone can talk him into carrying out this task in time. He has until the 15th - and his birthday's the 11th! Fun times for him.

For now, I'm not completely sure what Kurt will be doing for the event. Part of it will depend on what goes down with his sentencing/potential penalty. He will likely be available for helping to fend off monsters and rescue people, your standard superhero shenanigans. I do also like the idea of a Kurt doppleganger, but I might opt out of that right on the heels of the sentencing stuff. But he could possibly be available to help others with their double problems!

How can you run into my character? He works as the fastest pizza boy in town! Some of his regular haunts include the Club Building, the arcade and now the X-Mansion.
