Her crime is still the same, yes! Something else she could be sentenced for is she did almost beat Scott to death in last month's event, but her crime (duplicity) is still the same!
I just wanted to highlight something which others might not consider an issue but it’s a bit of an ongoing niggle for me.
In recent months I think there has been a marked change in the amount of people using the plot with me posts and a tendency to just rely on socials. The latter is obviously fine but I think it is making the game seem more closed off and making it feel a lot more difficult to engage with new people and trying to create new cr opportunities if you’re not already within certain circles.
I recognise I am fully guilty of doing this myself but to be honest a lot of that is as a result of feeling like “well, barely anyone else is using it so why should I bother?” Fully understand the whole you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink thing and not everyone wants to fill in one of these but I do think it should be encouraged more. This is one of very few games I’ve been in where it’s ended up being utilised so little.
i feel that people who have a smaller ooc socials circles (be it plurk or discord chats) could often get overlooked for cr as a lot of people choose to plot in different ways. not everyone will post to the pwm either or look out for people posting to it.
like vitt said i think it's more "barely anyone uses it so im not gonna bother posting" mentality in part, and this could definitely be encouraged to be utilised more as a point of plotting and reaching out to others. also keeping in mind all the different timezones the players are in!
Hello and thank you for the comment. This is an issue that the mod team has also taken note of. We try to encourage people to make use of the ooc comm by posting Plot With Me monthly and including the summary of the upcoming event. We've been trying to consider other ways to approach it, such as possibly re-linking it after the event goes up, or changing around the posting times.
If you have any suggestions and ideas on how to encourage usage of ooc comms or how to improve pwm we would like to hear!
I honestly think the timing of it might be an issue and was debating mentioning it! To me it would make more sense to have a plotting post once we actually have full details of the event for the month and the post for it goes up. As you’ve mentioned, re-linking or changing the time might help.
Hi! I have some ymmv suggestions based on what is done in OC games. I don't know how well they'd work, and I reckon some of these things are done/have been done and I'm just unfamiliar, but I'm just going to list a few in order of ease, hoping some of them might be inspiring or helpful!
Some of them potentially add work onto your plates (or another player's plate), and I know some of this stuff may not be a great fit, but I just wanted to rattle off the things I've seen done in case one of them works out!
1. Reminders for the PWM/EMP done on plurk & in discord about 5 - 7 days after it's posted, and then again once the actual monthly event goes up if those aren't in alignment.
2. Increased mod use of the OOC comm. This one is iffy because it's tough to strike a balance and find out where the line of "annoying, too much superfluous information" is lmao BUT...
Mid-Month Mini SotG, which also draws attention to the PWM post.
Mid- or Late- Month Highlight Reel posted by the mods for players to post conversations/threads/happenings they'd like to draw attention to, whether for plot or just because something funny/dramatic happened.
3. Incentivizing monthly activity done with new players, via some sort of small, potentially unique activity reward. An IC item or (what I've often done in games I've run) a simple "unique/weird thing happens to you on X-day".
For example, Character X turns in bonus activity with a new player for April, in May they wake up one morning to find their mailbox overflowing with love letters that very clearly seem to be AI generated.
This is more indirect, but could potentially bring people to the PWM more every month (assuming "new player" is someone who's been in the game for 2 or fewer months) to get with new players they may not have on other socials. You could potentially also include activity with new TDM characters on TDM months.
4. Small mid- or late-month events that involve pairing up characters for threads, either randomly or not. This is uhhh probably the most work for everyone, so I don't necessarily rec it, but just in case: smaller scale events independent of the monthly big event that will require some advanced plotting, where characters wishing to participate are paired up either randomly or via pre-plotting with the point of threading within a narrow prompt.
Some examples of these I've seen/done include:
"Musical Episode" Curse Day, where characters were paired up and made to thread a scene where their characters were cursed to write within the context of having to do a musical number, with the genre randomly assigned by a mod.
Corporate Bonding Exercise-Type Event, where characters are paired together 100% at random ahead of time to do an admittedly wretched bonding activity like trust falls.
[THING]-Building Contest, in which characters are paired up to make something like a sandcastle, a snowman, a jack-o-lantern, a Cool Weapon, a cake. (Winners for these were generally determined based on a RNG roll + the number of tags done in a thread in OC games.)
The idea is that players are hopefully given additional reasons to check out the PWM post to figure out who else is participating, link up in pairs & discuss plans. Again, workload may outweigh reward on this, though.
Hello and thank you very much for this very thorough reply! The mod team is currently discussing the points mentioned here and seeing if and how we could implement them into Expi.
One thing that could help is, during event months, maybe having a plotting post for the event on the OOC comm that goes up the same time as the event, OR relinking the PWM and encouraging people to revisit it.
I've noticed that usually, an event goes up, the more concrete details of it become known, people go off and plot amongst themselves on plurk, etc, leaving the event post very quiet for a week or so, then people trickle in with closed top levels. This can definitely be discouraging for folks who don't have a lot of people on Plurk. It can also make it harder for people to grow their CR pools.
Either way, though, it does involve getting more traction for plotting posts on the OOC comm.
EDIT: Adding to this!
I've been in games where PWM also involves a section for "CR I CAN OFFER" and "CR I WANT" which let people find each other pretty easily. Might be good sections to have?
We can try to relink the PWM post at the time of the event! If that doesn't work, we'll consider either posting it at the same time of the event or some of the other options that have been listed in this post.
Those are good ideas to the post! We'll try to incorporate those on the pwm for May!
hey there mods! first off, thank you for all the work that you do as always, and congratulations to lyrcois and vette for getting the mod positions! 💙💙
i don't really have any feedback or crit, but i do have a smol idea (if this wasn't in the cards already, ha ha). since we're no longer in cap (52/70 according to the app page), maybe we can start advertising the game again over on EMP and/or rpanons to get more attraction!
i understand that we've been on cap for a good while, and there was no need to beforehand. but we should totally do it this month, so that way people outside of our social circles and dwrpnews on plurk know we are open for business. 💪
Hello mods! I wanted to first congratulate the new mods and thank you all for your hard work! I always appreciate how engaged you are with your players and how open to feedback you are. I will say I very much enjoyed the wish seed/monster event as well.
One thing I wanted to say re: feedback was both highlighting of the flora/fauna/location pages and also timely updating? One thing I would say that ig is crit is that often the world feels a little empty to me (this is just coming from a guy who loves worldbuilding tho so ymmv.) I checked and I noticed that the last time the Flora/Fauna list was updated was back in 2023 which probably is discouraging if you're a newer player looking at those pages to get ideas or even to submit them. Not sure how to go about fixing this... maybe adding to occasional updates during the SotG posts or PWM posts? Like idk "X is now available in the Residential District," "Y from Player Bob's world has started to appear in the Forest," etc etc. and adding the link to submit new entries to those posts? Just to let people know it's there you know. We get a lot of general updates re: the NPCs but less on the environment which I feel like would make everything feel a lil more lively.
These are great ideas, honestly. The modteam in the past year has been extremely busy, so certain pages have definitely been forgotten about. Your ideas about making the world feel more alive already got us talking in the modchat, so thanks for that!

Yes, this was actually already on our menu but we also encourage the players to do the same if they wish to. ;)
