WHAT'S NEW? UPDATED CALENDAR IS HERE.

FRESH MEAT BLOOD MODS
We would like to announce our new mods! Please welcome Lycoris (player of Ragna, [personal profile] rebellions) and Vette (player of Silco, [personal profile] conflictresolution) to the mod team! We’re excited to add them to our team, and they’ve already given us fresh insight and ideas for the game. We would like to thank Kri again for her hard work and dedication in the game, and wish her well on her rp journey!

POLL RESULTS FOR THE GAME
Thank you everyone for participating in the poll for the direction of the game! The top results for themes were crime and punishment, morality choices, and environmental changes. The top results for genres were horror and fantasy. The modteam has already started honing in on these things, and have started planning for expansion of the world map, bringing back the pieces of the AI plot, and bringing in more NPC interactions. Thank you everyone for being patient in this time of transition, and we hope that you guys are as excited as we are for the upcoming content we’re going to be introducing!

SENTENCING
The automatic pool for sentencing is: Fauna (... for the wish monsters--), A2 and Altius (city damage), and Ellie (causing bodily harm). We will be opening up the sign-ups for four characters! If there are more sign-ups then there are slots, we will RNG the results.

For players who would rather opt-out if they are still dealing with the fallout from the event or any other reason, please let us know! Also, Jerry will be interactive this time... stay tuned.

AI PLOT
For those characters who might have inherited or got given the pieces of the AI from characters who were dropped, please let us know!

APP CYCLE
The app cycle will be running as normal this month! Check out the calendar for exact dates!

THIS MONTH IN ALDRIP

EVENT WRAP-UP
The OOC poll has closed for this event, and the immediate results of the event is HERE for your perusal. It’s much the same as is in that post – food is still becoming difficult to obtain. Buildings are still destroyed, with an added… is that a glitch? Sometimes characters might see some 3D mesh on parts of the destroyed buildings and rubble, but that’s fine. This is all totally fine. Right?

For characters who did not confront their wishes last month, these effects don’t go away. In fact, they may even seem to get worse in a way, and with these trying times, they may even resort to crime. Maybe they’ll steal food. Maybe they’ll break into other character’s houses for a place to sleep. These are just examples, but the impulse to have more than enough will be strong, or just any crime in general would be fine.

But wait! There are two options for characters: one, they can still confront their wish. Two, they can attempt to fight these urges and help others in Aldrip. The more they fight these thoughts and do good, the easier it becomes. The more… normal (as if there’s any normal character here) they become. This will happen over the course of the month, and the timeline and how long players would like to play this out is up to you!

Again, as stated in the immediate feedback post, the natives are still side eyeing the Chosen. However, the more they help them, the more they may be inclined to help others. If not, they’ll be sticking to fixing their homes or businesses only.

OUR SAVIORS… maybe-
But do not fear! Your friendly snake neighbors will be visiting on the week of the 7th with some foodstuffs. They seem all happy and fine and dandy to be there–

But why are their prices so high??? Are they really price gouging the Aldrip residents? Looks like they are. Haggling won’t work on them, and maybe if characters are persistent enough, they’ll raise the prices of their food even more. That’s kinda rude, isn’t it? But they’re the ones who have fresh meat and produce available easily, so… do you pay or not? Or do you flat out steal from them– If you’d like to speak to their manager, they’ll kindly say that they’re back in Rumpitur. They didn’t even come with them, that cowardly bastard. If the Chosen want to meet them they are more than welcome to take the journey to the neighboring city! Who knows.. Maybe they’ll see a friendly face there? In fact, they’re going to encourage it. They have even more back in Rumpitur, they say!

FEEDBACK AND LOVIN' Even though the poll is over, it doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear from our players. Continual feedback, crit, and ideas are always encouraged. It’s what’s made our game successful up until now, and will continue to make it successful in the future! If you don’t want to post here, our MOD CONTACT page and PLAYER PLOT page are always open.

We know that this year has started off on the wrong foot for many, and March was no different. We’d like to hope that everyone has a better April, and that you have some fun this month!

Hi! I have some ymmv suggestions based on what is done in OC games. I don't know how well they'd work, and I reckon some of these things are done/have been done and I'm just unfamiliar, but I'm just going to list a few in order of ease, hoping some of them might be inspiring or helpful!

Some of them potentially add work onto your plates (or another player's plate), and I know some of this stuff may not be a great fit, but I just wanted to rattle off the things I've seen done in case one of them works out!

1. Reminders for the PWM/EMP done on plurk & in discord about 5 - 7 days after it's posted, and then again once the actual monthly event goes up if those aren't in alignment.

2. Increased mod use of the OOC comm. This one is iffy because it's tough to strike a balance and find out where the line of "annoying, too much superfluous information" is lmao BUT...
  • Mid-Month Mini SotG, which also draws attention to the PWM post.

  • Mid- or Late- Month Highlight Reel posted by the mods for players to post conversations/threads/happenings they'd like to draw attention to, whether for plot or just because something funny/dramatic happened.
3. Incentivizing monthly activity done with new players, via some sort of small, potentially unique activity reward. An IC item or (what I've often done in games I've run) a simple "unique/weird thing happens to you on X-day".

For example, Character X turns in bonus activity with a new player for April, in May they wake up one morning to find their mailbox overflowing with love letters that very clearly seem to be AI generated.

This is more indirect, but could potentially bring people to the PWM more every month (assuming "new player" is someone who's been in the game for 2 or fewer months) to get with new players they may not have on other socials. You could potentially also include activity with new TDM characters on TDM months.

4. Small mid- or late-month events that involve pairing up characters for threads, either randomly or not. This is uhhh probably the most work for everyone, so I don't necessarily rec it, but just in case: smaller scale events independent of the monthly big event that will require some advanced plotting, where characters wishing to participate are paired up either randomly or via pre-plotting with the point of threading within a narrow prompt.

Some examples of these I've seen/done include:
  • "Musical Episode" Curse Day, where characters were paired up and made to thread a scene where their characters were cursed to write within the context of having to do a musical number, with the genre randomly assigned by a mod.

  • Corporate Bonding Exercise-Type Event, where characters are paired together 100% at random ahead of time to do an admittedly wretched bonding activity like trust falls.

  • [THING]-Building Contest, in which characters are paired up to make something like a sandcastle, a snowman, a jack-o-lantern, a Cool Weapon, a cake. (Winners for these were generally determined based on a RNG roll + the number of tags done in a thread in OC games.)
The idea is that players are hopefully given additional reasons to check out the PWM post to figure out who else is participating, link up in pairs & discuss plans. Again, workload may outweigh reward on this, though.

Hope some of these are helpful!!
