INTRO / CR MEME
Welcome to Expiation, home of the big bucks and no whammies! We're thrilled to have you here, new and old players alike. Please note that this intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.
As a reminder, Expiation runs on bi-monthly events. Please note that all characters accepted in June are exempt from the June AC. For everyone else, please submit your AC by June 30th, 2023. We will provide a warning list halfway through the day (eastern time) on both the OOC community and the moderator plurk. If you need to take a hiatus or have extenuating circumstances, reach out to the moderator team via DM, our feedback page, or plurk. We're some pretty understanding people! Real life sometimes slaps all of us around, after all.
As a kind reminder for people who are using backdated threads as proofs, we are counting the number of comments from June. Please make sure your counts are correct. We will sweep anyone who fails to meet AC due to miscounted comments.
For our new players, we encourage you to read the Premise and End Game section of our April 2023 State of the Game, as it includes behind-the-scenes information for players. There's also a wide array of other information on that entry available for the curious. (You can also check out the tag and read the bottom section for interesting lore / world building questions that have been forwarded to the team since the game's opening.)
To give you a general idea of how the upcoming timeline will be...
- Sometime this week, we'll have sign ups for the Sentencing mechanic. The short description is that we will be taking sign ups from interested parties. The sign up post will contain (hopefully) all of the information you might need as players to make an informed decision about whether you want to be involved or not. From the interested parties, a select number will be chosen via RNG, and those characters will be assigned a task that they will have a specific amount of time to complete. Successful completion will result in characters obtaining some kind of information pertinent to overarching game story line in some way (consider it may be a little more vague rather than directly in one's face). Characters who participate in this may also have their parchment crimes altered following successful or unsuccessful completion, depending on personal actions taken in the game thus far.
- Our next event isn't scheduled until later July 2023, but we can tell you that it's got something to do with those friendly little fairies who were giving people the power to grow plants at will. It might be worth fostering some good relations with them whilst the opportunity is there.
- We'll have a simple mingle available in late June / early July for newcomers and Chosen who've been around for a while as a means of getting to know people. Something likely light of heart to help offset some of the more serious themes we tend to explore in our events.
- The next state of the game will also take place in July, after the event, which will, as ever, include results of the event, changes made to the world, things we'd like to do in the future, things we're working on in the background, and more little curiosities for everyone.
- The next application cycle will be in early August 2023. The next TDM is scheduled for the end of July to pave the way for that app cycle.

Character: Elidibus
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: 6.4 (PLEASE let me know if you're avoiding spoilers! Though this OOC comment will be full of them...)
Crime: Biased judgment (i.e. being bad at his job)
Background: Once a cheerful and optimistic young man named Themis chosen to serve as the seat of Elidibus for his astounding clarity of judgment, he sacrificed himself when the world faced a crisis like none had ever seen before, becoming the heart of He who would make all right again: Zodiark. But through no fault of his own, the primal and the entire star was sundered, and every soul upon it except for him and two others split into fourteen pieces. So it was that these "Ascians" began the Rejoinings in order to put Zodiark and the world back together, tempered as they were to his will.
He spent about 12,000 years with an aching void where a personality and memories of his life were supposed to be, but after being struck down by the Warrior of Light, he regained some of what he had lost. Though his memories may never be the same again, he's returned to some semblance of his old self, particularly due to the actions of a very ambitious would-be god.
Abilities: Uhhhh, there's a lot, but the long and short of it is that he's got creation magic (to create living beings that do not possess a soul, like animals or familiars), basic elemental magic with a specialty in light and dark, and the ability to alter his own body into something greater, i.e. transform. He also picked up a potent binding spell from Erichthonios in their time in Pandaemonium. He has also been seen to assume the bodies of the dead in order to pose as them. He can even do this with the still-living, but it's highly unlikely he'll ever feel the need to in this game.
Plans: Since he's coming off of the end of the Pandaemonium raids and has a clear view of the bigger picture he did not have before, I'm particularly interested in seeing how he can apply all he's learned, particularly since it means his motivations will change now that he is alive without Zodiark or a star to try and piece together again. His duty still comes above all, but his definition of it is likely to change, especially around Emet-Selch.
Cross-canon wise, I'd like him to acquire some friends and allies! Though he's not above manipulation or withholding information when it suits him, Elidibus is steadfast and loyal to those he trusts most deeply, so if you go for CR with him, it's likely he'll try to maintain those relationships as best he can. He has no more Convocation to rely on, after all. Conflict is also welcome; he's already got some of it going on in his own cast, so someone to challenge his lawful good stances would be interesting.

No seriously, it's been forever since we've been in a game together so I'm excited to have a chance to tag you again! Even if Ragna might not care much about Elidibus' lawful good ways, but shhh we'll make it work.

It really has been, huh? I'm canonblind to BlazBlue, but just from a quick glance at the app, I think a thread with patient Elidibus and grumpy Ragna would be very enlightening for both of them. Or hilarious. Whichever.
I'll make a full read of it later so we can plot more, but someone like Elidibus with grumps is always a good time. His good friend that everyone likes to dunk on, the Most Eminent Emet-Selch, is one, after all.
