aldrip emergency planning interest check
Hi all! Due to the previous monster attack that's left Aldrip in disrepair, Claude (feintofhart) and Marianne (snowslip) are leading efforts to secure resources (think non-perishable food, medicine, weapons, etc.) with the goal of preparing the town for future emergencies. Below are the activities they're planning and they're looking for assistance from the Chosen because it will take a group effort to bring it all together!
This will be a plotting post for those interested in getting involved. Come help out the community and build that sweet CR in the process! We have an open log HERE for the event.

Diplomacy with Rumpitur
Travel to Rumpitur and negotiate with locals for resources, either as a goodwill donation or in exchange for labor/craftsmanship your muse can offer. This excursion will involve Chosen traveling through the haunted(?) Pessiria Forest and camping on the outskirts of Rumpitur overnight.
Land Restoration
Farmland and forests were razed in the monster attack. Help to restore fields around Aldrip by irrigating the land, planting crops, rebuilding farms, and tending to displaced animals. Dress for the weather - it'll be hot with the occasional summer rainstorm.
Shoring up Storehouses
Dig out safehouses and cellars to serve as evacuation areas and storage for emergency supplies. Dry meat, pickle vegetables, and solicit weapons from merchants in town to stockpile. Training areas have been set up for Chosen looking also to shore up their fighting ability.

- Rumpitur: Ethlyn's been through the forest once and she's sure she can take it a second time, and she's talked to the Rumpiturans before. Plus she was raised to be assertive and well-mannered.
- Storehouses: She's already complained about the over-reliance on electricity and those storage methods were her normal back home. She might not be familiar with a shovel but if you put one in her hand she'll try to use it! And she can definitely guilt a merchant or two.

Anything else?: i'm craving for some sushi. but seriously, during my hiatus last month, i made an excuse that she went to rumpitur the whole month and just chilled there. and she has a tree deck place in the forest. so she's definitely been there before. she also have shimmer (inhuman speed) so she can get there pretty quickly if she wanted to. and she also had experience of the morbol that are there.

Marianne's very suited to looking after animals and I can throw her into land restoration prompts, but I'm pushing Marianne towards diplomacy for character development purposes and would love to have her work with others to convince the Rumpiturians. She needs to build her public speaking skills as a future margravine! I dig spooky happenings in the forest and would be up for haunted forest threads or campfire threads where she can get to know your muse better.
I'm also interested in her learning combat from others. Particularly how to wield a sword since her school closed before she could pick up other skills...but any training is good. She's a mage and has battle experience, so she can also practice with others as much as a squishy mage can.

Anything else?: Elidibus is absolutely here for negotiation, and absolutely not here for anything involving skills. The guy's probably never had to lift a shovel or plant a seed in his life. But he'll do things to the extent that a total beginner can!

Which activities are you interested in?: Shoring up storehouses. Noel is a hunter and is very good when it comes to survival-based quests, so he's well-suited to procuring and drying meat, as well as helping maintain storehouses themselves. He's also a good fighter, and is more than willing to spar or to offer a newbie a few pointers when it comes to swordfighting.
Diplomacy with Rumpitur.
You probably don't want him on the talking end of diplomacy, but he makes a great bodyguard, and would happily act as an escort any time.
Anything else?: Noel was around during the first event that highlighted food shortages. He's really eager to make sure that doesn't happen again.

- Diplomacy with Rumpitur: As Mitama prides herself in her neutral stance in any conflict (please disregard the crime she arrived here with for a moment), she'd make quite a skilled negotiator! She would need help getting through the forest, however, since she cannot fight (well, she kind of can, but why bother when you can have an escort?)
- Shoring up Storehouses: Sort of? She'll avoid actual physical labor because she tends to delegate that kind of thing to someone else, but once she sets up her shop in the (hopefully near) future, she will offer it as an evacuation center for anyone in time of a crisis (since it would be considered neutral ground and she can protect it to an extent)
Anything else?: still trying to find that legendary work and life balance so this might be more of a "for later" note so I don't get overwhelmed─ we'll see how it goes!

Which activities are you interested in?: EVERYTHING. He's a terrible, self-sacrificing do-gooder.
Diplomacy with Rumpitur -- He's spent a lot of time replanting Pessiria Forest, so he actually knows his way around it by now. He could, or more likely help track down people who have strayed too far from the group. His creation magick doesn't last in this environment, so he won't be offering goods (lest they be seen as untrustworthy due to them disappearing later).
Land Restoration -- as mentioned before, he's already been helping with the forest. Planting fields isn't a stretch for him at all. He also has a way with angry dangerous animals so feel free to stick your tough cases with him. And while his creation magick won't last long enough to build a house, he can make tools for temporary use.
Shoring up Storehouses -- having some small capacity for fire and ice aspected spells, he can help with the preservation of food.
Anything else?:
There's an enormous bramble patch in that forest now and it is his fault it is there.
On the plus side, at this time of year there are probably lots of berries to be snacked on.
