INTRO / CR MEME

Welcome to Expiation, where the points aren't real and absolutely don't matter. But you do, and we're happy to have you! Please note that this intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

As a reminder, Expiation runs on bi-monthly events. Please note that all players / characters accepted in March are exempt from the March AC. For everyone else, March AC is due by 31 March, 2023. Halfway through the day AC closes, we will give one (1) warning on both plurk and the OOC community for anyone who hasn't submitted (this will also be linked in the player-run discord).

To give you a very general overview of how the upcoming timeline will be...

17 March - Event #1
31 March - Character Action Poll for Event #1 (This will be further explained on the event post.)
14 April - Results of Action Poll for Event #1 + Game Environment Alterations
15 May - ATP / Enable Me for Expiation's TDM #3
19 May - Event #2
22 May - TDM #3

Where are the reservation / app dates for our next cycle? Our poll is still being used and looked at. At present, most participants don't have a preference on how we adjust dates to better suit enablemeplz, which is posted the second Saturday of each month.

With that said, we currently have more votes for 1 week forward, rather than 2 weeks, which would place reserves to open on 03 April, and applications to open on 10 April. We will, of course, adjust this accordingly as we get closer to the end of the month.

One more reminder:
After this upcoming app cycle, our TDMs, Reserves, and Applications will open on a bimonthly schedule, opposite of event months.

This means the next TDM, Reserve, and App process will begin at the tail end of May 2023.

EVENT NOTES:

The Short of It:
The units used to preserve food in Aldrip have malfunctioned and Aldrip's townspeople face starvation. Characters are encouraged to lend a hand in the crisis, though of course, can choose not to. (Don't be that person. Or do...! We're not your parents.)

Prompts Include:
🧊 Fixing the refrigeration units. Potential electric shocks during repair.

🍳 Cook a thing. Burn a thing. Hunt some animals. Fish some... fish? Dry / smoke some food? Have a large, improvised grillfest? Please feed the people. They are probably hungry.

🤝 Travel through Pessiria Forest with Aldrip locals to meet the Rumpiturians and barter for goods. (TW: They're a people with snake-like features. There will be reference links.)

💰 Alternatively, steal supplies from the Rumpiturians instead of bartering. Or steal some of their other things. (TW: They are still people with snake-like features.)

👻 Pessiria Forest creepy things. No one will be outright hurt by this. Select characters sensitive to ghostly, phantom apparitions, and related will have nightmares regarding the forest for an undetermined amount of time.

❓ The party returning from Pessiria will be minus some people (read: locals, not Chosen; this will tie into a future event). Speculate, count heads, do whatever you need to in order to sleep at night.

Character: Shionne Imeris
Canon: Tales of Arise
Canon Point: After the defeat of Almeidrea, before being kidnapped by Vholran

Crime: Treason/Insurrection (She doesn't care. It's true.)

Background: Shionne is a Renan from Lenegis, which means she has magic and also martial abilities. Because of her family line, she was born with the Thorns curse that is activated by anyone touching her or when her emotions become too much for her to handle. The dark sparking energy overloads the nervous system and causes excruciating pain for those who touch her until they pass out. However, she escapes to Dahna where she teams up with the enslaved Dahnans Zephyr and Alphen to take down the Five Renan Lords and interrupt the Crown Contest for her own reasons.

Abilities: - Astral Artes (magic abilities focused on fire, water, wind, earth and dark elements, as well as healing) that makes her eyes glow
- Thorns curse (dark elemental magic that appears to cover her body in black, sparking 'thorns' or lightning that damages anyone who touches her)
- Rifle skills (she can summon a rifle where she shoots lots of bullets and uses special ammo that can be infused with magical elements to confuse those in battle)
- Maiden (She doesn't know about this yet, but she has the ability to help guide the mixing of all six elements of astral energies alongside the Sovereign in a special ceremony. It hasn't come up for her yet, so she doesn't know this exists. Yay?)

Plans: I am working on some more long term plans, but I honestly want to start with her having a few easily achievable things... Like a job that will give her purpose. So, if you need a healer/gunner to come with you for fighting, she's your girl. But I'm open to any CR with her, except for romance!

???: If you want to feed Shionne, you're going to need to have a spread like this:

Maybe during the food shortage can give Kisara and Shionne a chance to bond. (I know in game Kisara helps her with cooking, so maybe they can do something like that. Something, something, teach a man to grow lemons and something about lemonade? I don't know the saying.)

Aerith has some healing skills up her proverbial sleeve. Maybe she and Shionne can get involved in Ethlyn's horse and healing troupe or something. (Aerith also does not know how to ride horses.)

I'm all for Kisara and Shionne bonding. Especially if it involves food so she can get her Love Chef title sooner!

And I love the thought of Shionne having a riding learning friend
