So what with the mysterious black rot creeping up people's bodies and turning them violent and everything, Ethlyn is going to be working overtime searching for a cure!! Thankfully, there there is one to be had, but it's going to take some trial and error to devise.

To that end, Ethlyn is going to be looking for both help from anyone with medicinal knowledge and also test subjects for compounds and will be making this known with flyers around town etc. If you're interested in your character being one of the testers, please reply with what you want to happen:

1. Nothing really (bad or good)
   
2. Helpful to some degree (alleviating symptoms, slowing the progress)
   
3. oops we made it worse
   

Also let me know if you would like to handwave or thread out these encounters with medical experimentation! She's going to be trying both plants and the glowy crystals. Once she figures out the right mixture, she'll announce it to the network and make the cure free to anyone who needs it.

So at some point Erichthonios is going to get afflicted despite his extensive precautions due to the contaminated snowfall.

I'd like to thread this out because he is so keen on research and has been submerged in this particular plot.

Multiple rounds of treatment please, and you can either RNG the results or plot out what she'd like to try. He has a stone on him just in case.

He will 100% theorize on why something may have helped or failed.

His primary symptoms are a lack of impulse control and diminished thought-to-mouth filter (Gone. It's gone.). No one has pissed him off lately so the aggression shouldn't play a factor... an even then he defaults to binding spells for the most part (unless something actually registers as a threat). He could get depressed depending on how the conversation goes.

Fantastic! That sounds like a fun way for them to get to know each other too. It'll be super helpful for Ethlyn, because even though she has greatly expanded her medical knowledge, actually developing a new treatment for a novel problem is not something she's ever done before, so she'll be really grateful for his help. I'll put up a thing later this week for playing it out!

Okay! Writing up a lil starter for them in the open log I just put up--I figured that one thing they might do is try different concentrations of plant and/or stone powder in solution to see when it starts becoming effective and when it starts causing side effects, does that sound good?

i just got here but VOLUNTEERING VASH TO BE A TRIBUTE aka test subject.

he is not human (surprise) but vash is going to be pretty adamant that he's sturdy and can take some hits (which is true) and he'd love to help out!

I'm happy with any of the 3 options but rng says either 1 or 3...... and also whichever of the handwave or threading that you prefer! :)

Awesome!! She'll be happy because it is very important to make sure it can cure non-humans as well! doing a better job of a diverse test pool than some real pharma trials Is Vash going to be afflicted? I would honestly love to have her figure out where some infected plants are by having her accidentally sicken someone c: which would be very fun to thread out.

diversity is really important yall honestly I hadn't decided (if he is, it'll be maybe just a tiny bit, nothing Super serious) but i'm so down for her accidentally making him sick (or making it worse, either way)! he is stupid and will try anything if it means helping people :)

Ethlyn would have gotten contaminated plants after the contaminated snowfall. How about if Vash's unique physiology & his reaction to that helped her figure out what kind of ratio of rock powder-to-solute was the right one?

I dropped the ball on our last thread but we can either continue it now that I'm back into RP or just handwave that she's been treating the Hunting Dogs monthly? It'd explain why he'd come to her about the corruption if she's been treating him for the other stuff!

And yes, Ethlyn would absolutely do monthly treatments on the Hunting Dogs to keep them alive! I'm okay with handwaving that, but we can do more threads with that anytime you like.
