You see an item nearby. Whatever this item is, you don't really recognize it. Still, you feel as though it's important. You pick it up, and memories flood into your mind.
But they aren't yours.
It is dead. He is dead.
How could they do this?
A heavy weight washes over you, something you cannot quite put into words. It is emptiness, you think, but–deeper. The absence of something. Is this grief, you wonder? How are you able to feel something this deeply? It hurts like nothing you have felt before, like nothing you are supposed to be able to feel, and you don’t quite understand how this feeling of loss makes something break that is not even meant to exist.
One building block on top of another. The figure begins to come together, built from tip to toe.
If you could cry, you would be awash with tears. But he is here again–your Jerry–as whole and complete as the first day he came into existence.
For my two cents, I love how laid back / choose-your-own-adventure the tone of the game is. Characters can influence events or sit out as the player wants and it makes the game feel really dynamic to me!
I love me a mix of drama and SOL and right now the balance is great imo
Hey mods, thank you for explaining why you feel the way you do about the AC standards for Expiation; I appreciate knowing your reasoning for that. I know you have thought about it and made a definite decision, so I don't expect you to say anything but "we've explained our thinking and made this decision" to this comment (if anything! because I know that's the only response).
Still, I would like to say that I disagree that it would harm the game if you loosened the AC standards a bit. I'm not saying we should have check-in AC, just one that gives us more leeway. The fact that Expi is a character-driven game is a reason to do that, because sometimes big shit happens to our characters that rocks them to the core. It's why I love this game. But it can take longer to figure out how to write that and I don't think that makes anyone less fit for the game than someone who can write it fast. Nobody makes me feel that way, either! It's only at AC time.
Life is life, as you've said, and honestly, it's not going to stop doing its thing to all of us, whether we can frontload our AC in a week or have to build it up over the whole month. So I would just like to say, thank you for considering the matter but I hope you keep an open mind about it going forward.
And thank you as ever for all your hard work running this game! I do truly love playing here and engaging in the events and IC choices you make for us, otherwise I wouldn't be saying this at all.

The memory comes to an abrupt end there.
