terminal scavenger hunt

Hi, expi! As I'm sure many of you know by now, there has been an IC discussion going on re: forming several groups to go seeking out the terminals. Root (computation) suggested to Miller that he take charge of organizing these groups while she would work on organizing the technical side. They are specifically interested in doing the reset after making a backup of the current system. So, just making this post to let the plotting commence!

Obviously this is a player organized sitch, so please feel free to ignore and it and completely do your own thing if that works better for you!

But for those who are interested, here's the basic rundown right now:

- Groups will be assigned by general scouting location (Aldrip and surrounding area, Ketsora, Lorentia Cave, Desert, Pessiria Forest/Rumpitur area, Ruins).

- STEM club will be providing a telemeter to each team which will provide a signal helping lead them to the terminal.

- Communication will take place via the STEM club's established darknet to keep details as secure as possible; characters who can’t already access it will be provided access. Spock, Kirk, and Pike will be acting as support and coordination for everyone.

- ICly, Miller will be looking for at least one tech-savvy person for each group and at least one battle-ready person (but preferably more); he would favor characters going to certain regions based on their own background in game or in their own canon (e.g. he's from an apocalyptic underground society, so he knows how to navigate underground), but we can pretty much flub anything based on your preference.

- If your character wants to be in a group with another particular character or characters, just let me know you'd like them to be paired together!

- If you have a preference for a location you either want your character to go to or don't want your character to go to, also let me know! If no preference is given, I will RNG your character into a team. The idea was originally for 6 teams, but if we get too many people, we'll just have more teams!

- Want to be involved and your character hasn't talked to either Root or Miller? Totally cool to handwave that interaction with Miller! No need to ask my permission. But feel free to add me on shomonkai or hit me up in the game discord @ seraphita2033 if you need to hash anything out.

For the sake of not slowing down the event, sign ups will close on 9/20 at 12 pm PST (GMT -8) at which point I will respond to you with your team assignments! But there is, of course, no time limit on what you devide to do with it. Happy searching, Chosen!

Feel free to use the comments below to plot out things amongst yourselves, not limited to but including trying to throw a wrench in these plans completely.

yes hello!! this is most likely looking to be team spiders on, you know, the tech stuff while the dead guys are just along for the ride... well shinji at least can be a good guide. charles' only contribution will be that he can phase through stuff, though also any of the ketsoran defenses won't hit him, because, you know!! ghost.

and then depending on which terminal they make it to, once again he can just. phase through walls. but that's it lmao he will be highkey useless when it comes to actually doing any resets or whatnot.

I think it would be really fun to have them decide to create a distraction to get the others around the guards with the arrows not doing anything to Charles > Peter is also more than willing to throw himself in harm's way and act like a clown to draw the attention of the guards.

Per Jinx below, I think it would be great if the team meets up with her and Bakugo mid-nonsense and just have a kind of drive by car moment or some such ridiculousness xD Resulting in them working together to get to the portal.

I know the spidey team was planning to wind up at the Tower terminal via the portal, so I'm about to pop over there and see what nonsense we can get into. I know Tendi was going to end up corrupted, so there may be a situation where they need to fight their way through to the terminal once they get through the portal, too.

definitely!! i'll dm this link to the bakugo player on discord or ping them. they're going to write the top-level (for her and me as a closed starter) so if they want to add more prompts of everyone crossing paths, they can!

and jinx is either going to try to reset it w/o backup or protect the terminal if that helps with you guys.

Heya! I'd be willing for run-ins with other players for the event! I'd just need to know who, if anyone specific, to open the thread to! Of course, if it's easier I can just open it to the characters who might interact with them.

Bakugo is going to just do the same thing that Jinx is doing because he doesn't know what's going on, really, and if something important is broken you should probably fix it.

YOOOO I don't have any plans yet so. Shrug!! We can see what everyone else is feeling also!!

I'm good with however it plays out: whoever makes it to the terminal, whether it gets backed up with Root's virus or not, etc. so if anyone has any strong desires or ideas for like ULTRA COOL MOMENTS FOR THEIR CHARACTER that sounds awesome. 👀


For Shinjiro specifically, he'll probably be focused as guide/muscle for the group, because of the SpiderDead team, I think he was the only one here back when Kestora was available to visit. The techies can focus on the terminal itself.

I don't have any particular special moments planned, personally, but I'm open to whatever badassery might come Bakugo's way.

Bakugo is good with a computer, but not like....coding level. So he'll probably be muscle too. /hi5

I made a joke in discord, but just for visibility: if jinx and Bakugou are getting explodey amongst themselves, that might be a good distraction for the Root-Team to take advantage of, too, lol.

Once people chime in about their preferred communication method, we can let you two know if case you want in on it!

Per my above, I think it would be fun if the team crossed paths with Jinx and Bakugo and had some kind of drive by moment that results in them banding together to reach the portal. Explosions abound and distractions made so they can get to where they need to be sound A+ in my book.
