terminal scavenger hunt

Hi, expi! As I'm sure many of you know by now, there has been an IC discussion going on re: forming several groups to go seeking out the terminals. Root (computation) suggested to Miller that he take charge of organizing these groups while she would work on organizing the technical side. They are specifically interested in doing the reset after making a backup of the current system. So, just making this post to let the plotting commence!

Obviously this is a player organized sitch, so please feel free to ignore and it and completely do your own thing if that works better for you!

But for those who are interested, here's the basic rundown right now:

- Groups will be assigned by general scouting location (Aldrip and surrounding area, Ketsora, Lorentia Cave, Desert, Pessiria Forest/Rumpitur area, Ruins).

- STEM club will be providing a telemeter to each team which will provide a signal helping lead them to the terminal.

- Communication will take place via the STEM club's established darknet to keep details as secure as possible; characters who can’t already access it will be provided access. Spock, Kirk, and Pike will be acting as support and coordination for everyone.

- ICly, Miller will be looking for at least one tech-savvy person for each group and at least one battle-ready person (but preferably more); he would favor characters going to certain regions based on their own background in game or in their own canon (e.g. he's from an apocalyptic underground society, so he knows how to navigate underground), but we can pretty much flub anything based on your preference.

- If your character wants to be in a group with another particular character or characters, just let me know you'd like them to be paired together!

- If you have a preference for a location you either want your character to go to or don't want your character to go to, also let me know! If no preference is given, I will RNG your character into a team. The idea was originally for 6 teams, but if we get too many people, we'll just have more teams!

- Want to be involved and your character hasn't talked to either Root or Miller? Totally cool to handwave that interaction with Miller! No need to ask my permission. But feel free to add me on shomonkai or hit me up in the game discord @ seraphita2033 if you need to hash anything out.

For the sake of not slowing down the event, sign ups will close on 9/20 at 12 pm PST (GMT -8) at which point I will respond to you with your team assignments! But there is, of course, no time limit on what you devide to do with it. Happy searching, Chosen!

Feel free to use the comments below to plot out things amongst yourselves, not limited to but including trying to throw a wrench in these plans completely.

I just hit track on this entire thread series so I am ok with plotting on here too! I'll give Gray a poke as well to glance down here just in case!

I'm okay with that thread arrangement as well! I like the split 2 and 2 and then all 4 of them meeting up at the terminal, especially since all 3 of Ange Minato and Deku might need to be there to deal with. The Spice.

I think we should do the "location" blank TL, 1 for Deku and Seimei, 1 for Minato and Ange, then 1 for the final four-way? If everyone's good with that I can throw one up later tonight (it is almost 4pm over here)!

As for me I don't have a pref for which terminal they get teleported to because frankly I did not even realize there were multiple terminals 👍

I didn't realize that there wasn't a terminal at every location until I read through the event prompts a few times, so mood on that. And I'm good with that thread setup!

Poked and tracking, good to plot! I'm also down for that team and thread arrangement, looking forward to Seimei and Deku time before everything gets a little wacky. I have a preference for them getting dropped in the ruins 'cause Douman's player and I were tossing around ideas, but know there's gonna be a lot happening there too so I don't know if we wanna shoot a word to that team's players as well or go for something maybe quieter? I don't wanna disrupt anything, y'know, especially with so much already going on.

Just a +1 that I'm good on that setup, and I don't have any particular preference for a terminal either! It does seem like the ruins will be ROWDY, so it might be good to check with the players there, since I think there's already a big fight going on there and I don't know how running our own thing next to that would go. Maybe something more quiet would allow us to deal with The Spice a little better, though I wouldn't want to ruin your plans with Douman either!

I think we can have them get dunked into the Ruins once they reach the portal, but maybe they get dropped off in a different area from the Ruins? That might let us move everyone there, and then you can wild out with Douman's player as planned! Plus dropping them off in a different area within the Ruins would let us dodge the skirmish that I think might be happening over there????

In any event tho let me go make that blank top-level for us!

edit: top-level over here! I figure we can comment off it with the 2 teams, depending on who is writing the starter based on Abe no Seimei + Deku and the Ange + Minato groups!

I don't have a terminal preference either, so if we can make the Ruins work out I'm a-okay with that. And we can always take some extra time to set up the four-person thread at the terminal and just start with the buddy threads, if we need to!

Thinking about it, we could always see if the other folks are cool with the idea of this group technically getting to the Ruins first, but having to abandon the terminal and end up somewhere else in the area as a consequence of dealing with The Spice and such. Getting unwittingly teleported directly from Aldrip does give us that option, at least.

Aaah, I'm sorry to be so difficult, but I would like for Ange to at least be able to end up near a terminal, since I feel like if they got completely sidetracked and didn't end up near one at all (or had to permanently abandon it) then she would feel like crap about it after the event.. It's okay if there's distractions (like The Spice, i love The Spice) along the way, but I'd like for the outcome to be at least semi-productive, if at all possible!

It's cool, I can roll with anything personally! It's also possible that maybe we land near the terminal before or after the Ruins group gets there? I don't know whether that group is resetting the terminal themselves given the brawl, but I don't mind asking them at all whether the Ruins group intends on actually resetting the terminal, or whether it's okay for our group to arrive after their big fight to reset it!

Just putting in a little note that I don't think there's anything that says the whole group has to get teleported to the same place if any of you want to break off and do your own thing!

I'd be ok with splitting the party! It sounds like we don't all have to land at the Ruins then, and if you'd like Gray you could have Seimei land at the Ruins to do your thing, and maybe Ange Izuku and Minato can land at a different terminal? Either way as said I will roll with anything, Minato is just stapled to Ange's side is all so I'll probs just go with whatever Jelle decides LOL...

I'd be fine with that. I'm not particularly invested in any specific terminal locations, so I'll go with whatever works best for everyone, though I'd definitely love the chance for Izuku to spend time with Ange and Minato too.

I wouldn't mind a split up after the teleport if that's the easiest way to make this work! And if Izuku wants to end up with Ange and Minato post-teleport, that's also totally cool with me! So if we'd go with that, we could do:

- Split threads of the groups of two (Minato + Ange, Seimei + Izuku) looking around Aldrip
- A thread with the four of them regrouping to head into the mauseoleum
- Them being split up during the teleporting from that location, Seimei ending up at the ruins terminal with Douman and Minato/Izuku/Ange ending up at one of the relatively more chill terminals?

I'm just spitballing here to make it a little more clear, let me know if anyone has any specific wishes, we can always adjust it!

This sounds good with me!! I think we might be good once Gray signs off? But otherwise yes we can definitely get the balls rolling with the split threads that have the groups of 2!

Sorry to bust in here but I can't help but see Ruins talk.. with Bones dropped I would like to stick a leggy out for tech help from Team Aldrip if at all possible!

If the tech person is not super-powered Hiei can wear them like a probably taller than him backpack and they can parkour to the bottom, etc!!!

Me looking around at Ange, Izuku, Seimei, and Minato... I think the most tech-savvy person among the group might be Izuku, though I'm not sure what Ange's computer skill is like so Jelle can chime in there!!

Honestly with the chaos of Fauna and X-Men thunderdome going on outside of the pit and Bones suddenly disappearing any assistance is better than Hiei ringing Kurama up on the Jagan for tech support from afar.. LOL

Would be incredibly funny if Hiei managed to get the Aldrip group to help him reset the terminal while the mosh pit fight is going on nearby LMFAO... I am personally game but will hold off to find out what Leriel and Jelle think would be a good course of action too!

I'd be okay with this, as long as Jelle is! I'm also fairly sure Izuku's likely the most tech-savvy person in the team, and though he's mostly average modern person level he could probably handle the reset? It's not what he signed up for but he'll give it a shot.

I would still prefer to keep Ange away from the PVP stuff, but I totally don't mind if you three want to go there to help out! I can always handwave that Ange was sent to a different terminal by herself, if that helps?

Ange could hang out with Douman and just popcorn to the action show from a safe distance, or they could poke at the bones and what else can be still found in the ruins together if you'd like.

I was thinking about asking you if you'd like to do a quick interlude with them meeting somewhere along the way anyway, since he'd have half a mind to give her a talisman for protection (aka. make a one-time shield at her commamd and have any poor sod running into it go zap!) after their last talk.

Oh gosh, I really love that latter idea, I'd like to thread that! Do you think it might be a good idea to have a thread like that set before everyone splits up to go to all the various locations? She would be so flustered in a touched sort of way that he'd be thinking of her at all..

We could set it during their trip towards the portal in Aldrip if you'd like? I'm not sure how to play things anymore since most of my plans are moot with Seimei's drop, but Douman would still have to take a trip through the portal at the catacombs since that's the only way for him to get to the Ruins. (He could have gotten a ride from Bones, but they dropped too sbhjfdbhj)

I’m perfectly willing to have Hiei run guard on making sure no ranged attacks come their way.

If he really has enough of it he could probably end the fight himself but dude is so mono focused on getting the job done he can’t be bothered. 😂
