AC RESULTS

The following characters have been removed from the game:
[personal profile] howyouseit
[personal profile] moochobliged
[personal profile] cursegod
[profile] heroondeku
[personal profile] nitropowered
[personal profile] joyboys

WHAT'S NEW? UPDATED CALENDAR IS HERE.

A rule change:
The mod team has made some minor changes on the ac rewards page! We now allow a character to redeem an inventory gain for a general item from their homeworld (within a reason!). Please remember that these items have to be from their own world and not someone else’s. As always, characters may not regain personal items that belong to another character or canon.

Schedule and upcoming AC:
Because of Thanksgiving in the US, we’re going to be posting the event log a little earlier instead of the 18th, it’ll be put up on the 11th!

Holidays are upon us and the mod team has taken that into consideration. Just like last year we have decided to lift ac for December and make it only a check-in month. We all hope this helps everyone with the stressful season!

Applications:

With the newest application round we have come very close to reaching the 70 player cap! The mod team has no intention of raising the cap. We will open the new application round for new players only when we have less than 60 players in the game. Until then we will open an app round for current players only.

A NOTE FOR PLAYERS Thank you all for the feedback on the last SOTG post. The mod team has discussed the thoughts and concerns brought up there:

1. We’d previously stated that we’re going to space out our plot beats a little more so that it makes it easier to plot in between events. This may mean that in the future, some plots become multi-month events (such as the glitches over the summer), but if that happens to affect the event/TDM schedule, we’ll post an update ahead of time. For the holidays, we are going to be posting the events earlier on in the month so that the people who would like to engage can engage. We may not have time to do this all the time from here on out, but we’ll definitely give an effort towards it for the holiday season.

2. There has been some question recently about what players are allowed to do with and about NPCs. We always welcome players to create their own experience with those NPCs! You’re always free to handwave encounters with them, whether it’s something small like an everyday interaction or something recurring, like your character working in their business. They’ll react and act like normal people with the average human needs, but we’ll note when they’re reacting differently towards the Chosen. We’ll also be returning our focus to how characters can shape the world of Expiation. That means we’d like to know more about what you and your characters are interested in doing! If there are any suggestions, please do let us know. The mod team has bantered about a “job board” that’s kind of like a quest board for quite some time, but there’s usually enough going on in the game that we worried it might be overkill.

3. To piggyback off our last point, suggestions/locations/npc + player businesses are always welcome! It’ll help the mod team as well to come up with ideas in the future for things in the game as well.

4. There was a question about adding another helper mod. We’re not thinking about this at this time, because the biggest problem we face as a team is time. There are several different time zones on the team and a wide variety of scheduling, so it’s sometimes difficult to get everyone together to work on questions/events/etc. This may be why some replies may take longer than others, and faster at other times. We’re so grateful for the patience you have towards us with this, though! But for transparency’s sake, we wanted to put that out there.
THIS MONTH IN ALDRIP As we are moving towards the winter the colder the weather gets! The leaves are now in full Autumn color and are dropping off the trees. Homemade scarves and wooly hats, mulled wine and candles sure are making their comeback to the market.

Event:

As stated above, the event will start on 11th of November this month. The event itself will be heavily influenced by the Player Plot of this month. There will be two logs. One will be run by the players and the other one will be posted by mods. For more information and details go look at this month’s PWM post. What we can promise is chaos. 🙂
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU Thank you for all the feedback. Remember that we are always welcoming it. And this section of sotg is always open for discussion. We are always excited to hear about you guys so never hesitate to reach out. Thank you all being such a great bunch.

Totally sincere well-meaning question here, but if the main issue is time, wouldn't it be helpful to bring on another person and delegate duties? Sometimes things are worth bringing to committee, so to speak, but I think most teams (RP and professionally!) operate with some division of labor and only escalate when needed.

Slowness in mod responses can make it difficult for players to keep enthusiasm and momentum going, both in events and outside of it, so it seems worth addressing.

Understood, I get wanting to make some changes and give it a chance first!

Thank you for all your work on the game, I think it's obvious I'm having a blast ❤️
