Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

TO SLEEP, PERCHANCE TO DREAM

Dreams are a funny thing, and in a shared simulation, even moreso. The evening of 1/13 proves to be very strange indeed, as characters find themselves having very vivid shared dreams. These dreams contain memories, and the Chosen are able to freely share in the dreams and memories of others.

The catch? They don't know they're dreaming...at least, not at first. Here's the thing: dreams are nice, but stay in them too long, and you might not want to wake up, right? Staying too long within these dreamscapes runs the risk of falling into a deep sleep, perhaps never to wake at all...

Chosen are able to influence each other's dreams, and are able to wake up one another if necessary. Once awakened, they may choose to enter dreams again --by falling asleep-- in order to help others wake as well.

Is an AI capable of dreaming? There's a good question. We might be about to find out...

I work full time in a M-F, 9-5 job, so the bulk of my tagging will typically happen on weekends or evenings if I have enough energy after a work day.

Crime: Kidnapping

Background: Gwen is a fangirl from the "real world" who hated her life so much that she found a way to literally insert herself into her favorite comic books. Since then, she's become a superhero, retconned her origin story to make herself a mutant, and developed powers that include the ability to manipulate the comic book medium.

Abilities:

• As said above, Gwen's main power is manipulating the comic book format, primarily by walking out of one panel and into another, essentially allowing her to teleport/time travel from the perspective of other characters in-universe. Given that this game exists outside of a comic book format, she does not currently have access to this ability.
  
• Gwen also comes armed with in-depth knowledge of Marvel Comics lore as well as several other pop culture properties. Like Deadpool before her, she is a rampant fourthwaller. However, I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable, so if you'd rather avoid Gwen fourthwalling your character, please feel free to comment on my screened permissions/opt-out post.
  
• Apart from that, she's also good with guns and swords!

Plans: My initial plans are just to get Gwen settled into the setting and get her used to not being in a comic book anymore for a change. I'd love for her to branch out and meet more people, either Marvel characters who she may know of, or other canon characters who she won't!

Background: so back in the 1700s, czeslaw drank an elixir of immortality and stopped aging. now, 290ish years later, he travels the world with his immortal pals looking for old acquaintances. also his closest friend and mentor spent 200 years torturing him for fun so he's got a little teeny tiny bit of PTSD going on. and trust issues. and - you know what, don't worry about it. he's just a little guy. totally innocent and has never done anything wrong.

Abilities: czeslaw has regenerative powers, which means as long as he's not hurt in a fatal way, his body will regenerate back to its normal state within a few minutes or even seconds, depending on the injury. also he doesn't age.

Plans: hmmm so first of all i'd like czes to make some friends! this can be with adults or teens, he has quite the soft spot for younger people but he does like having adult friends. if he trusts you he might even act like an adult in your presence :3 also if for some reason you want your character to be super traumatized during a dream sharing event, czeslaw could be your guy!

How can you run into my character? i foresee czes spending a lot of time in the library for the first few weeks he's here. other than that...idk! i think he will be exploring the town, testing the limits of where he's allowed to go / where he can go without being noticed, etc. so i can probably contrive for you to run into him almost anywhere.

Canon Point: Not long after one of his siblings mysteriously goes missing.

Crime: Attempted murder

Background: Havemercy is an ex-prince (abdicated, who wants to do politics, ew) from a city-state space station out in the fringes of the Solar System. He was his mother's favorite and then she died mysteriously while he was young and his father remarried too quickly for it to seem coincidental, so he waited a few years, went to space seminary school in between, and then tried to assassinate his new stepmother once he had enough evidence to satisfy himself. (Was it really enough, who can say!!) He fucked up real bad at this and almost killed one of his kid brothers and resolved to never ever try to do Big Things ever again.

That was a long time ago, though. These days he's a librarian/archivist/part-time info broker on the station, desperately trying to arrange things for his family behind the scenes such that his evil stepmother gets hers and then everyone else can live in peace. For some reason only he seems to care about this, go figure.

He thinks very little of himself because of his One Big Fuck Up but he is amiable and open in the "you'll learn all the fun facts and none of the lore" way, and maybe a little nosy, out of habit. He's compelled to stick his fingers in every pie, just in case one of those pies is going to explode. Fundamentally he considers himself Nice but not Good and has concluded his integrity is an acceptable loss.

He will accept being called Mercy if the whole thing is too weird, but he would prefer the whole thing and he has heard every possible comment about it ever conceived, yes.

Abilities: lmao me, write a character with useful abilities? no, he has none, just librarian tasks and lying.

Plans: go crazy go stupid-- No but I'd like him to Get Involved in things even if he will, again, be very open about how he is A Fucking Librarian and can't help with combat or hunting or etc. Can he still tag along. You wouldn't let him get eaten by monsters would you. Look at this face.

How can you run into my character? He will lurk where the books are and where the local gossip is, and he'll be staying at the inn for the foreseeable future, so: very around in the town centers but also popping up in libraries for fun and profit.

Crime: Stubbornness

Background: It's him, your spooky ghost pal... Octavian was a semi-famous inventor and alchemist living in a magictechpunk city on Mars, then he was murdered because of capitalism, then spent thirty years floating in the same room about it to try and undo it with more alchemy. He isn't a Lore Ghost, he is actually a lot of spellwork and runes holding his own scraps together, and recently he's been gifted the ability to occasionally have his own physical body! It moves weird! It might not have organs.

Anyway, he's a spoiled rich boy (age 61 if you count the floating years) with bad manners only partially because he forgot how to be around people for thirty years. He's made of spite and revenge and opinions (tm). When his spare body is up and running (it will eventually just dissolve, don't look, it's embarrassing) he likes to Touch Things.

Abilities: Alchemy, doing weird magic things with runes, other assorted spellwork/enchantment. He isn't a combat wizard, he's a "door that magically locks with the right circles drawn on it" wizard. Also ghost.

Plans: Give me the CR........ He's fullbody now (sometimes) so would anyone like to do Activities (purposefully vague). He is still doing his little projects in his hovel, but having a body makes him want to go out more. But he's not very good at people, lmao.

Miu Hinasaki | Fatal Frame V

Crime: Desecrating the Dead

Background: A girl searching for her missing mother. Going by rumors that a woman looking like her mother has been seen there, she heads to Mt. Hikami and is spirited away. She has had a strong sixth sense since she was young, and can see ghosts, as well as the hearts of the people she touches, leading to those around her avoiding her. She's been raised with a great sense of isolation. She is currently a young, prospect-filled actress, pursuing a career in the entertainment industry by appearing in TV shows and doing gravure work.

She's what's known as a yomiko/"shadowborn"/"child of black water." Her mother was a living, human woman, and her father was a spirit. Miu was born "half-dead" and is effectively "half-spirit."

Abilities: Able to see a person’s thoughts, emotions, and delve into their memories with a touch. She’s almost constantly aware of someone’s true feelings, though she tends to just let it wash over her without really digging further.

This is fun to play around with if you ever want!! Miu doesn't really try to control it and can and will see your character's most traumatic memory or their death or whatever at a touch. SHe will experience it as if she were you, feeling everything you felt, everything you thought, saw, smelled etc. Died a horrifically painful death? Yeah Miu will feel that too. Her power is based on the idea of "sharing pain". Your character will ALSO re-experience this, but the feelings attached the memory will be lessened since Miu is taking on all of that for them instead.

Plans: Miu is gonna be poking her nose into everyone's business bc she's nosy, especially with those dreams. She can kinda do that in her canon anyway so she'll be poking in and out of things to spy on people with no shame i am so sorry. She'll liekly know when someone's in her own and out of place and call them out on it, while turning it around on them to enter THEIR memory. She did that to Yuri in canon and it wasn't fun so you know. I'm down for that

How can you run into my character? She needs to establish it but I'm sure she visits every cafe in town at least once a day to get something sweet at every one and listen in on local gossip

Neve Gallus | Dragon Age

Canon Point: Just before the eclipse in Act 3.

Crime: Negligence/Incompetence
(essentially that in choosing to help the Veilguard, she's neglected her city and her people, and in choosing to not be stronger/better or to abandon her ideals and do whatever it takes to help, she has harmed others by failing to save them in time)

Background: Neve is a detective and a mage in a city that looooves mages but is hugely oppressive to anyone not a mage or in the ruling class. She's a person who cares very deeply for her city and her people, and believes that people deserve a chance for a better life (and a better city than they have at home, tbh), but also holds up some major walls and barriers. She's seen a lot of friends and allies die or be hurt because of her. She loves information, learning people, really knowing people so she can help them out and ask for intel when the need arises. She's loyal and does everything she can for friends and people dear to her.

As an aside, Neve is coming here 'Unhardened', meaning she has more hope in people and their ability to fight for themselves. But she literally just made that decision point, so I hope to play around with that decision and see how the game takes her.

Abilities: I'll have my info post ready soon but the gist is that she is an ice mage by specialty. She is sensitive to magic shifts in the world around her, can dispel barriers, slow down time for enemies (temporarily, like for a few seconds), and typically uses cold/ice attacks. Like all mages in her canon, she can do some other non-ice related magic (like force magic, small fires for fireplaces, etc.) but they're more...parlor tricks and the DnD equivalent of thaumaturgy.

Plans: I'm super open in terms of plans! I know that's vague, so I'll hit some general bullet points.

- Neve loves to investigate and get her nose in things she shouldn't (she says she hates it but info is her bread and butter) so she will be trying to get involved in generally understanding how this place works, the history people know of, and will want to work towards figuring out how they get out safely.

- Getting to know people! Making allies, learning people's idiosyncrasies (what they like, what makes them friendly, what their boundaries are, how she can help them, what makes them talk) so she can 1) befriend them, 2) gauge if they'd be a good ally, and 3) help them out.

- Probably making some enemies/problems for herself, which I'm super open to! I like negative CR with a plan, and I craaaave back and forth banter from rivals or people who have conflicting methods but similar goals/ideals (so someone who takes the typical smash route instead of talking, etc). Gimme conflicts...but also don't want to push negative CR to the point of avoidance/shutting down threads. Does that make sense?

- Figuring out who the Problem People are here so she can find out what makes them tick. :) She's not a cop, she's just a mage version of Sherlock Holmes, so violence and murder is not off the table if talking and persuading falls through.

- My biggest "goal" is to put Neve through an arc where she will either Harden herself (think she needs to be better/stronger to help people, and will continue to keep her barriers up) or double down on being Unhardened (open herself up to trusting more and believing in others/her allies and friends), and so I'm excited to naturally let that play out in game and see how things land.

How can you run into my character? So she will likely not be much of a sleeper for the foreseeable future, and can be found outside or in businesses and talking to people pretty frequently (and more than I can do with my schedule lol)! So people can run into her at the tavern in the late evenings and out in the city during the day.

Please bear with me while I try and keep up!! BUT I am Mich, I have been breathing on Expiation’s glass for many, MANY months and I’m finally here! I love gacha games like Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact and ZZZ. I play Final Fantasy XIV, I love Kingdom Hearts, My Hero Academia and all kinds of horror games.

Character: Venti

Canon Point: Genshin Impact 4.2's Archon Quest (post-Fontaine)

Crime: Inaction. Venti's tendency, as the anemo archon Barbatos, to appear as a lazy, absent god in the eyes of others. In truth, Venti cares very much but he believes in the people of his nation to be able to take care of themselves and to have the freedom to fight for what they believe in without his help. Despite that... Venti did sleep for five hundred years, leaving Mondstadt on its own.

Background: Venti is a 2600+ year old god of wind, music, love and freedom! He presides over the nation of Mondstadt (but he doesn’t really do much these days), loves to travel, sing and write poetry. He loves to drink wine and be drunk and party!! And likes to be an old coot that gives out advice to the babies. You can find his full application here.

Abilities:
🎐 Venti is the wind archon which gives him incredible power over the wind. He can practically move mountains with it. While he won’t use it to that extent unless he has to, he is a god.
🎐 He also has the power to direct dead souls.
🎐 Can heal negative energy and heal karmic debt with his music and songs.
🎐 He can drink you under the table.

Plans: Seeing as Venti is new, his first plans are going to be just settling in! Making CR and finding out what Aether has been up to and about this world. From the TDM he learned some pretty interesting things, so he’ll continue to ask about people’s stories and what they’ve been through here. He wants all the good and bad stories for his own information.

How can you run into my character? It is still up in the air about this but Venti can more than likely be found where there is alcohol, so bars or taverns. He will also busk and sing out in public. Venti also has a tendency to sleep like he’s homeless, so he’ll more than likely sleep outside in trees or steal into people’s homes to sleep. He also explores a lot so he can take his own notes.

Crime: Getting involved with Organized Crime

Background: Tsuna is the reluctant heir to the Vongola Mafia family. It's a job he'd rather not have, but sometimes the guys who don't want the job usually make for the best person to take on the job. Not that it's easy, since he has more than enough to cats to herd and self-esteem issues to get over, but he does alright. He has his Family to look after him, after all.
Tsuna is often the guy who has to play straight man to the ridiculous cast of characters in his life. He's a little reluctant and cautious, but friendly and polite. He's easy to tease but pushed into a corner, he finds his backbone. But he is warm and open and tends to accept people rather easily.

Abilities: Tsuna uses Dying Will Flames, which are basically your life force accessed by your regrets on the brink of death, and then turned into a regular Shonen power system. Tsuna has Sky Flames, which have the power of Harmonization.

Plans:
-Tsuna is going to have fun? in the snow. Or he's going to get eaten by a snow drift as he attempts to shovel. Pls rescue him.

-A good old fashioned dreamshare, huh? Tsuna will probably have a few memories on offer. And it will probably be very hard to hide his crime after this one. But you'll have a chance to meet the famous Reborn, Tsuna's Family, and probably a few antagonists as well. And more likely see what it was like before Tsuna could control his flames. (Running around town in a berserker rage in just his underwear)

How can you run into my character? Tsuna can usually be found at the arcade, the TWAT club building, or at his house. He's around, doing errands and things. He also works occasionally at Claude's apothecary.

Background: Child solider and heroin addict from a hell world.

Abilities: Guns. Levi is real good with guns, mostly rifles and used to be a sharpshooter in his world. Also he's got some magic powers but it makes him crazy to use it

Plans: Hoo boy. Levi canonically has nightmares about the orphanage he grew up in every night and I figure having been at war for five years must add to that. And then the whole death game/body horror that was Termina. So while I would love to have people in his dreams his content warnings are very applicable here and I won't just throw them at people. Let me know if you want to make your characters deal with that anyway!

I realized I could also do a sweet/sad dream where tinytiny Levi remembers his mother playing piano. Maybe a chance to use that one piano icon i have. anybody interested n that?

Otherwise...i dunno. Any clean up work from Miller's monster hunts since i'm working on posting to that he was involved with that. Avoiding dubious sales and wondering if the sheep are somehow a danger, as you do. Likely back to nightly stalking for Silco since Jinx is back, but he'll still be around during the days cause what is sleep

How can you run into my character? when not hiding himself away, he likes to spend time at the library, can often be found in the woods/outside of town in the mornings and does odd jobs so he could be found anywhere.
He's also involved in the Aldrip Defense Squad so doing whatever patrols that has. Or sometimes hands out at the clubs building. He's got to be getting good at cooking by now

Richard Plantagenet | Requiem of the Rose King

Anything Else?: one of your chaotic mods here! i live in finland and thus come with weird timezone but i bet you wont even notice that. i like shoujo and drama a lot. my current fandoms/interests: Persona games, KH, Rose King, The Rose of Versailles, everything Hagio Moto has ever done, Arcane and gothic romance.

Crime: existing

Background: requiem of the rose king is gothic romance shoujo adaptation of shakespeare's henry vi & richard III, focusing on the life of the latter figure. richard here comes from medieval england and has just schemed his way to the throne. his hobbies include: manipulation/scheming, coups, inappropriate face touching, hunting, existential horror induces trips to the forest and conversing with ghosts of his past. And overall being absolutely confused by the modern people and their ways here in aldrip.

Abilities: richard is a pretty remarkable war veteran back in his own world! he is good with sword/bow/lance and other knightly things.

Plans: OKAY SO.

- in november richard posted a call for action in hopes to bring the capable chosen together and form a defense squad of sorts. the purpose of this organization is to prepare and protect aldrip from any kinds of threats that might come their way. he is looking to work with all kinds of characters! fighters, healers, tech-wizards, cooks etc. the sign up & info can be found here
- training mingle. i will post one closer to the weekend! but everyone please come and see what's all the noise. have a sandwich and perhaps pick-up a new skill or two.

- EVENT. richard has so far been posing as a man of the people. like, c'mon! trust him, he has your best interests and safety in mind :) so for the event i am thinking of showcasing some of his true nature hahaha. so i am thinking including memories from the civil war where he definitely was the most sane person. some of the assassination that he's done or had someone do for him. overall, the ruthless politicing that left some people without their heads! and idk, include a view to richard's mindset through the hallucinations and visions he has on daily basis.

note that these prompts will most likely involve the canon-typical cws for him. check out the permission post for further information.

- also this plan/plot is still in the oven but: richard is looking for the chosen to establish a council of their own, one which is (hopefully) not dependent on the one in aldrip that sets out sentencings etc. idk this is still so on thought-level but he might approach a character on the subject?

How can you run into my character?
- richard is the owner of the inn! so if your character is staying there they have high possibility to run into either richard or into his pet boar, whitey

- woods where he is either riding his horse or hunting. or both.

Anything Else?: I am currently working in a microbiology lab as a medical laboratory scientist so my hours might get wonky once we start getting weird sponsorships. Otherwise, I'm Tues-Sat typically 9-5! My main fandoms atm are Arcane, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Bleach, Witch Hat Atelier, Natsume Yuujincho, and other stuff. I like a lot of things but these are the ones I'm currently kicking around.

Character: Shigeru Miyata

Canon Point: After being stabbed through his heart. He is doing great guys!!!

Crime: Killing the god of light in his world.

Background: He comes from a world where people have been cursed with powers related to phobias, they're called Phrobiests. Using their powers to do good causes Phrobiests to also transform into monsters when they abuse their powers and deterioration of something called a gate happens. Shigeru is a Phrobiest but he's also now his world's god that he willingly transformed into to prevent the entire world from being destroyed and stuff? So his world is a mess but Shigeru is doing his best.

Abilities: After turning into a god he has some pretty significant updates in his powers so!!! I will leave a link to his permissions post for those powers: here! Shigeru himself will probably never use these but in the chance of weird event shenanigans it's there for people to fill out!

Onto his normal powers Shigeru can breakdown and remake things at the subatomic level. So he uses his powers mostly as a doctor to cure illnesses, remake missing limbs, fix broken bones, etc. He'll probably hop right back into being a doctor here and help out any pre-existing healthcare/doctors already in the game.

Plans: I don't have much at the moment, Shigeru is coming from a point in time where he's been super betrayed by his best friend/person he's been in love with for most of his life so...he's fine?? He's totally doing okay. But, no, I think just having him establish himself and CR and get to helping people out who need it will be my plans for him right now!

But in terms of dreams Shigeru has a lot of trauma and shit to work through. He was dissected once by some crazy bastard who was obsessed with him and his 'potential' so if people want to see that in his dreams to build CR please let me know! It's a lot and he has other less severe things he's been through too. Otherwise, I'm open for him to go into people's dreams as well!

He's also an artist and a very good cook so he will be getting into that as well!

How can you run into my character? He will probably be explorin and doing doctor things??

Crime: Ignorance

Background: One day, in a dark forest, Dante's head was replaced with a flaming clock, causing them to lose all their memories. Shortly after, a group of people in a bus saves them from being killed and presses them into working for the company they're a part of--Limbus Company--as their executive manager. Hijinks of varying levels of silly, horrifying, heartwarming, and heart-crushing ensue.

NOTE!! The world of Project Moon is an absolute shitshow of a dystopia with some heavy horror elements, so if that kind of thing isn't your bag, please feel free to hit up my opt-out post here.

Abilities:
⏰ Halving the speed of time for everyone but themselves (and 12 characters who aren't in the game) in a large bubble around themselves
⏰ Can power up a single attack or clash (essentially giving someone a free limit break) -- This power is currently limited, but I'm going to use reward points so Dante can use it on anyone.
⏰ Can sense powers and creatures based on emotion/the mind/the heart (not in the psychic sense). -- For a slightly more detailed explanation or if you would like to opt in/out of this, please look here.

Technically they have another ability or two on them but since those brush up against the current event, I'm leaving those for later!

Plans: Nothing too set in stone! But depending on how characters who can't/don't sleep can slide in, I've got an idea for a dream for Dante. Memory-wise, I haven't narrowed it down yet besides maybe something to do with the headcrab chickens or a creature called "Do You Want to Get Beat? Hurtily?" for more lighthearted fair. The darker stuff is a bit more difficult to pin down...

How can you run into my character? Dante can mostly be found at the library, their home, and running around doing errands for other people.

And occasionally blowing their hard-earned money on booster packs for card games now that they've been introduced to Queen's Blood.

Background: Instead of having a dad as a space pirate and being shoved off an exploding airplane with his younger brother Alex, this Scott lives in boring suburbia. In Ohio. And his older brother Alex visits every so often. Probably no space pirate dad. He still has his optic blasts though and currently lives in Xavier's Institute until he was brought to Expiation.

So because of the less horrible childhood, including no terrible orphanage run by Mr. Sinister, this Scott is a little more well-adjusted. More lighthearted and easygoing and cocky, although it wouldn't be Scott Summers without a dose of anxiety. It's fine. He's not worried at all about being the leader of the X-Men or his world becoming awful like all the other mutant worlds--

Abilities: Uncontrollable eye beams. Not lasers. Not from the punch dimension. iykyk

Plans: I'm always interested in more CR! He tends to work best with other teens, especially if they have powers or socially awkward, this Scott is pretty good at bringing them out of their shell. I'm definitely open to more CR with adults too, whether it them being having Scott's best interest in mind or not, or telling him he's dumb, whatever works for me! But really, I'm down with having new CR with people!

For the event, I am planning to have Scott dream of being back at Xavier's Institute at home, except all his friends and girlfriend will be there and everything is all happy and good. Except for the fact that something is off (because his friends from Expi shouldn't be here, dead people are here, etc) ... not to mention that anyone that visits his dream will see everything in a shade of red, because that's how Scott sees everything. Might be fun to have your character try and snap Scott out of his happy dream or maybe your character can bring in something nightmare inducing, I'm happy to plot something out!

How can you run into my character? Scott is all around Aldrip tbh. Hanging at his home, at Xavier's Mansion, training, visiting arcade/movies, zip zooming around on his motorcycle. He also runs TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) club.

Background: Mid-thirties CEO of an international company whose previous stint as a magical boy went so poorly he pivoted to plans to destroy the world. Very good at pretending he's a pleasant type on the outside. He recently took an orphaned magical boy under his wing to use him against his friends (don't worry about how he was orphaned), which ended up having unpleasant consequences like feelings. Uh oh!

Abilities:
-automatically blocks any supernatural sensing powers: anything outside of the typical human baseline will react like he's not there. Any technology that tries to record him while he's using magic will also fail.

-magically charming aura that tends to make people like him more. This will work on local NPCs but obviously it's player choice for other Chosen. If you want to play with that, it's there!

Other things that will not be relevant except in extreme emergencies or secret, because he is just a normal businessman, really!!: healing magic, superhuman strength/reflexes/speed, temporary portals, hypnosis, breaking/warping, and crystal monster creation.

Plans: He does not know how to turn off his business brain, so much of his time is spent making connections and/or asking if people are interested in working with him. It's for a good cause! Medical technology and supplies can only be helpful for survival, right?? He can take any set of skills and figure out where to put you! pls work with him he offers dental— (He won't push it obnoxiously, though.)

Other than that he's part of the organizational side of the defense squad! I am looking forward to getting involved with crisis management. :]

That said because of the particular month (his canonpoint is early January) he's going to be more distracted than usual and maybe a tad jumpy, if anyone wants to notice that. Don't worry about it, he's fine, really...

As far as the event goes, I have two and a half ideas that just need some more solidifying, but it boils down to:

1) a gentle confrontation where Zek is concerned about his reckless ward (who he misses very much!!!)
2) Big Trauma Event 10ish years ago where Zek tried to solve a hostage situation he was in and failed miserably
3) Staring into the abyss, and the abyss staring back. Maybe even saying something creepy! still workshopping this one.

Maybe something else also, not sure yet! I also definitely want him to get shoved into other people's dreams.

How can you run into my character? Businessman is busy! This dumb city's lack of infrastructure and communication tech means he goes everywhere to chat up NPCs for business, so he can be found pretty much wherever out on the street. He spends a fair amount of time at his building, but he also spends mornings watching the courthouse, and the occasional evening at Lupin or the Inn's tavern! He has his own tiny house but he basically only goes there to collapse sleep.

Also if he's shown concern for a character before, he absolutely checks in with them. Especially you types who seem like you can't take care of yourself!!! >:(

Crime: 2nd Degree Murder/Manslaughter.

Background: An alter version of Akutagawa of ‘What if?’ This time, he was picked up by the Armed Detective Agency instead the Port Mafia, using his special ability to protect the weak. Akutagawa having a better chance at life, making a living, becoming a detective, better role models, as well as learning from his mistakes and controlling his temper. While Akutagawa is learning better morals how the agency works, he still lives up to his beliefs and can be harsh he carries from his upbringing. He’s still learning to manage his bloodlust temper.

Abilities: Rashomon. A manipulating clothing ability, and she (yes, Rashomon has a gender) can distort space like a force field taken out of Star Wars.

Plans: I’m open to anything and welcome Pos and Neg CRs. I have nothing set in stone, yet. Still tagging out my TDM. Perhaps chill in a free hotel until he gets settled in better with his cast mate and other worlders mirror from his world. Other ability/mutant users welcome. Fellow detectives too. Honestly anyone.

How can you run into my character? Coffee shop drinking tea, he will soak his tea with four cubes of sugar. The beginning, mostly sight viewing, getting the layout. Working on a job for him, so he’ll look for that. Library and chill. Treating himself to sweets and bakery, or red bean soup with mochi somewhere.

Crime: Infanticide
Background: A2 is a combat android belonging to an elite squadron of combat androids known as YoRHa, created to fight in a (unbeknownst to them) endless war against a machine scourge created by aliens who wanted to conquer Earth. Unfortunately she was also a prototype for newer and more efficient versions of herself, which sucks for her. After completing her first and only mission, where she was the only survivor, she is marked for death as a deserter and has spent essentially her whole life killing her pursuers and the machines. She's plagued with feelings of regret and worthlessness due to survivor's guilt and the overall pointlessness of her existence, and her one-woman war against the machines is essentially a long term suicide mission.

That's Nier babe!

Abilities: Despite looking like a dainty Victorian ghost, A2 is very good at murder.
- Extreme strength, speed, endurance: A2 is a tank. She has killed countless numbers of machines, taken on whole swarms and Goliath-class machines by herself, and killed pursuers who were specifically designed to be better versions of her. She is extremely strong, fast, and despite her external damage, is very resilient. She contains nanomachines in her body that repair internal damage and can power through most injuries as long as they aren't to her black box or head. She can bleed out! But that requires her getting an injury severe enough and, well.

- Weapon mastery: A2 is an acrobatic and elegant combatant, and as an Attacker model, is designed for close-range battle. She is a master swordswoman, but is also able to utilize bracers, spears, daggers, and even her bare hands in a pinch in order to fight.

- B-mode: A2 is able to overheat her body for temporary periods of time in order to maximize her speed and strength, though requires recovery time in the aftermath.

- Pod: Pod 042 accompanies A2 just about everywhere. Pod possesses navigation and long-range firing capabilities.
Plans: A2 is a murder ballerina who has killed countless numbers of enemy combatants (and a baby - long story), but she is also a 4 year old metal baby. She's never experienced anything that wasn't the neverending misery of fighting without purpose, and finds herself without purpose here! She isn't sure what to do, so my plans for her are to experience as much as she can. Eating things is new, most animals are new, society is new, clothing... is not new but she does need that. Humans are especially new: in her version of Earth they died long ago, but she was designed to love and idolize them, so experiencing her version of God as just wandering around and asking her questions is causing a lot of culture shock.

As far as the event, I thiiink because she's so new I may have her just wandering around in other people's dreams, but I may finagle one of her horrible memories for stepping into. Not sure yet!
How can you run into my character? Heimerdinger introduced her to the wonders of the "cafe" and "hot chocolate," so she is there. Every day. To drink hot chocolate. Please introduce her to other things.

She will be looking for a fishing spot! She can't eat mackerel (please don't make me explain this) but she likes fishing with Pod and then... letting the fish go. She doesn't know that's not what you do.

She'll be looking for things to do! She needs things to do or she'll die (not really). Running errands for people, exploring, trying to figure out what it is that a combat android does without combat, pondering the nature of her existence...

Background: Physical embodiment of "Nihilism: Nothing matters (existential dread) vs Nothing matters (fuck it we ball)." High school student who drifts through life and gets roped into others' shenanigans no matter how stupid they might be. His idgaf attitude and flagrant disregard for his own well-being can be alarming at times but!! He's genuinely quite nice so surely that counts for something... At this point he feels a little better about the whole Surprise You're Alive Again deal and just takes things day by day. You might see him wandering around with a dog named Koromaru too! 10/10 goodest boy, please come pet!! Yes the dog has a Persona too dw don't ask

Abilities: Personas!! He has 12 of them and they range from huge + somewhat concerning-looking to a tiny pixie. I think he has the Worst set of Personas out of all the Wildcards at Expi LMFAO it's ok. It's his brand now.

Plans: I'll be continuing with my TDM threads from last month unless you'd prefer to start fresh with something else! Or if you'd like to retcon how our chars crossed paths if your char is new, just lmk. I'll roll with whichever.

I think Minato is more likely to go wandering around in other people's dreams to learn a little more about them, BUT if you have CR with Minato already and wish to have them learn a little more about him... we can definitely do a closed thread! Or if you'd like for him to learn a little more about your char, the other way around is good as well.

How can you run into my character? It wouldn't be too unusual for Minato to be anywhere, given his penchant for wandering about. You might catch him taking Koromaru on walkies as well. Otherwise, he lives at the inn so their paths could have crossed there! He has 500 part-time jobs too, but he's mainly with the Arztenritter i.e. Ethlyn's healer brigade and available for patching people up via magic! Sometimes he's out running fetch quests for Claude (it's his form of enrichment, ok), or helping out at the apothecary. Or he can run fetch quests for YOU!! In general though, he takes on various odd jobs and errands. If you're part of Scott Summers' TWAT Club you might know him through there too! He hangs out around the farmhouse as well and started a little garden there. In short... yeah he's everywhere.

So tbh, I can very likely finagle a reason for Minato to run into your char or we can cook something up! He is a jrpg protag always getting into everyone's business albiet unintentionally and never by his own volition. We will figure something out... So feel free to hmu on Plurk or in the Discord!

Background: Ryuunosuke's a girl that was raised by her shithead dad to be his one and only son, in order to inherit a seaside tea shop. It used to be a lot worse back in the 80s, still not super great! She wants to learn what it's like to be feminine, but also can't help but beat the shit out of fools who step to her. She's kind of a fighter and now has to live on her own for once. She's otherwise chill and not super knowledgable about life due to her uprising, and she's looking to help out where she can here.

Abilities: She strong. Rumiko-esque strong, but kinda like. A little more than a regular person, but not world ending.

Plans: something something all CR. Planning on having her hit up a certain punch-girl for hand to hand training and probably looking to have her get a job. Her dream'll be a tossup I think, between what she's missing at home, a glimpse at her "crime", or a dream she actually already had in canon.

Crime: Despair

Background: A mad scientist who got recruited into a cult and became an immortal sorcerer with no physical form. Now he lives in the body of a dead samurai and is coping with the fact that he is the reincarnation of another, slightly less mad, scientist who wrote a really bad tweet that destroyed the world.

Nihilistic, sadistic and extremely flamboyant. He tends to present himself as a clown but beneath the playfulness he is in a lot of despair. His main agenda is to die and take everyone else with him. It's what his Emperor would have wanted, anyway.

Abilities: As an Ascian, Fandaniel can do the following:

• Conjure shadow chains and bind people with them


• Possess dead bodies (but he has to return to his current vessel after a time)


• Chuck spells around like a wizard


• View the memories of others by observing the person while they are remembering something


• Fly


• Create objects with his own aether which he usually uses to create clothes and disguises


• Teleport


• Understand/be understood by anyone regardless of language

Also, he has no shadow. Weird, right? Probably nothing to worry about.

It's worth noting he rarely uses his more combat-focused abilities. He doesn't like fighting unless he's very sure he can win.

His greatest "ability" is his intelligence. He's an obnoxious turbo-genius.

Plans: Some stuff is up in the air because he failed his sentencing! That will for sure affect things. But for now:

He has a history with dreams. His own are usually of his past life. In others he is always very intrigued about what the dreams might symbolize. Expect him to dreamwalk a lot to get to know people! Remember: This man is an asshole and may very well use what he learns against people later.

I am open to people learning about him in his dreams but am VERY interested in him learning about others so if having a madman know your character's secrets sounds appealing, let me know!

How can you run into my character? Lives and works at the Aetherochemical Research Facility on the outskirts of town. Can otherwise be found wandering the streets people watching, bartering, etc. He may hate all living things but he's also a busybody.

IMORTANT NOTE Fandaniel is usually a playful, whimsical eccentric and as much comedy relief as villain but this character can get very intense. Themes around him include suicide, despair, existential horror and hopelessness, nihilism and extreme self-loathing. You can read more about this on his OPT-OUT. Please do not hesitate to opt out of interactions if you want to. I understand some of this character's themes are more heavy than people might want to deal with in RP.

Background:

Born a spirit fox, Kurama became a powerful demon over hundreds of years in pursuit of ruling a portion of demon world. He kind of threw that dream out the window and vanished a thousand years ago, before nearly dying while in hiding. To escape his pursuer and survive, Kurama "reincarnated" himself into an unborn human baby. After his dad died he got too attached to his human mother to bail on her as intended before she became terminally ill. So, he decided to try to trade his own life for her's and he's been kind of doing that with everyone he cares about ever since. Unlike his teammates, Kurama chose humanity over power, embracing his human form (and mundane life) despite the hit this took to his demonic strength.

He's a huge mama's boy and his castmates are all understandably jealous.

Plans: FOR JANUARY, I don't have any specific plans. If anyone would like to dream share with their character's memories, let me know! Otherwise, anyone can learn more about Kurama and his whole simultaneously human and demon thing. This kind of event I prefer to plot something specific to the individual character and what's interesting to the player, so don't have very firm thoughts set up. There's a lot to offer with him between trying to rule over demon world and later fully embracing humanity.

Obviously, if you're canon familiar enough to want something specific, I'm happy to work with that. I love dream/memory shares and I'm always happy to make something work for CR opportunities. If you're not familiar, we can hash something out.

Kurama is extremely versatile so he is good for CR with most anyone that isn't just soulless and evil. He's especially well equipped to deal with characters going through a redemption arc that might need some encouragement! I also love throwing him at other nonhumans in general.

How can you run into my character? Kurama is an insomniac/early riser. He's a nerd, a hacker, a plant expert, and a tactician. He'll be involved with the clinic, the apothecary and now the farm. He's big on information gathering and he's going to want to learn whatever he can about this place and how they got here. Any overlap in those categories is bound to give an opening to meet! I've focused a lot on plant stuff up until now, so despite impulse buying the farm recently, I'm hoping to dip into the tech end of life more, too. I also want to get him involved in STEM, for anyone whose character may be easier to connect to in that way.

Main topics Kurama will be interested in doing right now is leaning into the community survival aspects Richard has been proposing, and facilitating shared information through characters vocal about that.

Other things to know about Kurama for CR opportunities:

• he has taken over the farm
• he is teaching anyone interested about growing plants: gardening and/or farming skills
• teaching survival skills, plant identification with regards to what is safe to eat or use for medicinal purposes
• basic firstaid especially in relation to medicinal plant use.
• he will be taking a break from spirit awareness stuff, but with Kuwabara arriving, he'll probably start directing humans to him on that topic
• getting involved with the apothecary and developing CR with his coworkers there!

Team Urameshi has also moved into a naturhaus in the woods, so anyone is welcome to find themselves discovering that while out there. Thanks to unexpected continued Developments, he may be spotted running around in his original fox form now, as well.

Crime: Disorderly Conduct

Background: Kuwabara's a hereditary psychic and former juvenile delinquent who accidentally got involved in battle shonen shenanigans when his (self-assigned) rival got hit by a car. Through various arcs, he develops the ability to manifest an energy sword, wins some battles, loses more battles, and eventually begrudgingly decides to just dip out and go to high school. Now he's more or less just a student, aiming to get into university. With a really kooky past. He's a big, stereotypically thuggish-looking guy who's actually a pretty nice dude who's into music and cats.

Abilities: As mentioned above, Kuwabara's a psychic, typically referred to in the series as having been born with a "high spiritual awareness". This gives him various abilities seemingly based on whatever's needed for the plot, including sensing ghosts/spirits, telepathy, and precognition. This is not very developed, and he just sorta stumbles into things.

He also can manifest an energy sword! And that in itself is pretty simplistic, though it can take other forms like throwing knives, javelins, etc. There's also an advanced version of the sword that's able to cut through dimensions, which opens up other odd possibilities like teleporting. This latter ability is nerfed saved for the vague possibility of using it for plot or whatnot.

Plans: Kuwabara basically isn't in the final arc of YYH and then there's a time-skip, so there's a huge chunk of Kuwabara's development and life that isn't really expanded upon, and I think that's a neat thing to play around with! I think his potential to mesh with a wide range of characters is present, particularly with general peer-ish characters or other powered characters who deal with similar themes of...being an extra-ordinary person who must nonetheless exist ordinarily. Stuff like that! The game's themes of facing down the past (kinda just lame in his case) and the unsolvable-through-physical-confrontation setting will also drive him batty and he's down to complain.

How can you run into my character? I don't wholly know yet! Kuwabara has friends present in Aldrip, so he's likely to lurk around them so far as lodging is concerned. He will want a job in some capacity! A real man carries his weight! Other than that, I'm just doing some initial poking around and getting a feel for the flow of things. I'm happy to keep TDM threads or otherwise merge the associated meetings into current events (since I initially hit up the October log), and I welcome plurk/discord adds for plotting.

Background: Silco is a crime lord from the undercity called Zaun. He distributes addict rage-roid drugs to his people and beyond, chokes his fellow leaders out on toxic air and his dream is a liberated city no matter the cost (except he found the one cost he wasn't willing to pay). He is brutal but can be charismatic when he chooses to be, a control freak, and has many suppressed traumas and rage issues. He also has a weird codependency with his adoptive daughter.

Abilities: He is a normal human with normal abilities.

Plans: Silco's long game is to hijack the economy, which is probably the most boring and tedious goal to RP out; however, that's who he is as a person. He owns significant businesses and is expanding. His end goal is to have control of the mechanisms that bring and remove people from the simulation, but no doubt that will never happen because I'm not smart enough to make it work. If anyone wants a job, please come and work for crime daddy.

How can you run into my character? Silco can reasonably be anywhere in the city. Because his number 2 isn't around, he has to make his own deals and be a social human being sometimes (which he hates). His favourite spot to be is the Last Drop, but he can be found increasingly at the Inn as well. He isn't a combat person, but he often times funds ventures because he's filthy rich (that's what happens when you own the money printer... shhh, no one knows about that).

For the upcoming dream/memory share, I do plan on having Silco unwittedly show people some of his life. Prompts may be:

A girl that tries very hard to be good, and may or may not be interested in bad things a little too much. She is not secretly evil in any way, but rather, she will do evil things for the sake of protecting others, keeping her friends safe, or being selfish. A lot of her actions of evil are a result of some aspect/facet of innocence. That said, for a little more context, Nasu often differentiates evil via what is done for yourself vs what is done for others. With doing things for others, being what makes you good. At least, for Abigail's sake, this is the case extremely so. As Abby does things selfishly because she is a 12 who wants happiness for herself.

Mainly, I just want you to know as her mun, I have 0 interest in like her being purposely evil?? She is just here to make friends and be cute, and if someone hurts her friend, she will fite.

I'm hoping to get his initial plan of creating a machinery shop open so he might avail the masses with means of easier transportation such as his hoverboard amongst others! I also plan to have Ekko share his love for art and his talents in that area as well but that will be further down the line.

As for the newest event coming up he's got lots of trauma from the past that could be witnessed in dream land for those who wish to subject themselves to his pain. (I know I am here for it.)

How can you run into my character? Right now he'll be looking to settle back into life within Aldrip. One could find him at his homestead which Jinx brought him to after her return. Abilities: he's good at doing this successfully while making it look like he failed / only got it out of sheer luck. also he is totally willing to try (and can process) eating weird combinations of food. apart from that he has miscellaneous skillset not limited to: sharpshooting, surprisingly athletic, looking pathetic af, needs to grow at least 1000 spine, etc.

as for dreamshares, i'm keen on doing INTERACTIVE setting scenarios rather than memories because it's a DREAM, right? so:

- cool futuristic spaceship time (has potential for some body horror in terms of SCIENCE, or if you're not that type we can do something SOL and cute, there's like a garden and tree and flowers)

- desert planet time (this can lead to a lot of scenarios - being chased down by giant worm to avoid being swallowed? chased by some highway gangs? chased by villagers? OR WE CAN DO SOMETHING SOL AND CUTE TOO, NO WORRIES)

- a secret third thing aka pure dreamscape, anything can and will happen? rainbow coloured unicorns? being lost in an endless libary full of smutty books? trying to find that one box of cereal in a giant supermarket? airport nightmares? dreaming that you're now the protag (and love interest) to the latest movie you watched? jumping off an exploding tower while yelling MERRY CHRISTMAS? you name it.
