INTRO / CR MEME
Welcome to Expiation, home of the big bucks and no whammies! We're thrilled to have you here, new and old players alike. Please note that this intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.
As a reminder, Expiation runs on bi-monthly events. Please note that all characters accepted in June are exempt from the June AC. For everyone else, please submit your AC by June 30th, 2023. We will provide a warning list halfway through the day (eastern time) on both the OOC community and the moderator plurk. If you need to take a hiatus or have extenuating circumstances, reach out to the moderator team via DM, our feedback page, or plurk. We're some pretty understanding people! Real life sometimes slaps all of us around, after all.
As a kind reminder for people who are using backdated threads as proofs, we are counting the number of comments from June. Please make sure your counts are correct. We will sweep anyone who fails to meet AC due to miscounted comments.
For our new players, we encourage you to read the Premise and End Game section of our April 2023 State of the Game, as it includes behind-the-scenes information for players. There's also a wide array of other information on that entry available for the curious. (You can also check out the tag and read the bottom section for interesting lore / world building questions that have been forwarded to the team since the game's opening.)
To give you a general idea of how the upcoming timeline will be...
- Sometime this week, we'll have sign ups for the Sentencing mechanic. The short description is that we will be taking sign ups from interested parties. The sign up post will contain (hopefully) all of the information you might need as players to make an informed decision about whether you want to be involved or not. From the interested parties, a select number will be chosen via RNG, and those characters will be assigned a task that they will have a specific amount of time to complete. Successful completion will result in characters obtaining some kind of information pertinent to overarching game story line in some way (consider it may be a little more vague rather than directly in one's face). Characters who participate in this may also have their parchment crimes altered following successful or unsuccessful completion, depending on personal actions taken in the game thus far.
- Our next event isn't scheduled until later July 2023, but we can tell you that it's got something to do with those friendly little fairies who were giving people the power to grow plants at will. It might be worth fostering some good relations with them whilst the opportunity is there.
- We'll have a simple mingle available in late June / early July for newcomers and Chosen who've been around for a while as a means of getting to know people. Something likely light of heart to help offset some of the more serious themes we tend to explore in our events.
- The next state of the game will also take place in July, after the event, which will, as ever, include results of the event, changes made to the world, things we'd like to do in the future, things we're working on in the background, and more little curiosities for everyone.
- The next application cycle will be in early August 2023. The next TDM is scheduled for the end of July to pave the way for that app cycle.

warnings about this character: even shorter version, jinx is a grey-area villain. she also has mental illness (Schizophrenia, PTSD, Separation Anxiety, and Hallucination). the show arcane also deals with quite few heavy topics: like love, sex, drugs, violence, terrorism, death, mental illnesses, and some others. there is at least a 50/50 percent chance if you interact with jinx, you will receive negative CR.
that said, if you do not want to roll the dice of possibly having negative CR, don't want to deal with a chaotic semi-villain, her mental illness, or anything, here is my OPT-OUT post for her: here.
another thing to add about jinx is that she tends to stalk people, listening in people's conversations, and just... randomly show up behind people like a fucking lunatic. i don't have a OPT IN/OPT OUT page for that yet but, just comment here for right now if you're okay with jinx doing that to your character.
Abilities: this is spoilers if you have not seen arcane so i sorry. anyway, jinx here has shimmer in her bloodstream. what is shimmer you ask:
Shimmer - a serum substance to be used and distribute for many different reasons; such as growing two or three times a human's size in mass, inhuman speed, heal wounds, and a pain reliever. the serum can be used as fuel as well. it is also known as a "street drug" for the city of Zaun.
because she got injected with this serum because that's a cool thing to do, she has some abilities. this is what she can do:
➜ inhuman speed.
➜ jump high like a monkey
➜ high pain tolerance. unless you stab her a million times repeatedly.
➜ high alcohol tolerance. she is 17 but that doesn't mean she won't try and grab a drink, cause she will. she lived in a bar all her life. she will attempt. but for her to get tipsy, she has to drink in the double digits.
➜ crazy high metabolism. she will eat you out of house and home.
➜ her eyes glitter/glow whenever she feels emotions.
➜ she sees the world like this usually.
➜ her blood/tears can heal people but she is not telling anyone she can do that except for her canonmates who well, knows what shimmer does so.
Plans: my plan is to make everyone miserable. but on the more srs note, this child needs some happiness. someone be nice to her even though she will hate you. she just needs friends, love, and a lot of mental help. she is somewhat a villain, yes, but she's not the typical "i want to take over the world" kind of villain (that's her dad). she can still be a fun and energetic person to be around. she just.... likes to shoot things, explode buildings/trees, and make fire. oh and she does art. she draws there's that.
also stay away from vi. only she can have her sister. no one else.
