Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

JANUARY EVENT QUEST IN THE CAVES Concerned by the corruption and what it could mean in the spring if it’s left unchecked, Aldrip’s blacksmiths and miners offer their help more freely than they would if not for impending catastrophe. They offer to attach those glowing rocks to weapons, farming equipment, and other tools. They may even make cuffs, anklets, or other adornments that can keep the corruption at bay within a person’s body. So get to the caves and grab some! Once characters have these upgraded tools in hand, they’ll find that when working together, they seem to remove the corruption quickly enough that it doesn’t come back. The sky is the limit for what artisans and blacksmiths are willing to make, in this case, so please feel free to get creative when coming up with solutions. FROM THE SEA Stay around this corruption long enough and characters will notice that it seems like these wispy lines of corruption seem to lead somewhere. Those Chosen who follow the path will find themselves at the coast. This trip is not without its perils: the monsters that have been affected around town continue to be aggressive, attacking characters and, unfortunately, spreading more of this problem affliction with the slightest bite or scratch. Arriving at the coast, characters will find that the monster from November’s event is back and ready for its next meal. This close to land, it seems slightly less dangerous, but what’s more interesting is that the weapons infused with gems from the cave seem to do extra damage to it. Upon closer inspection, this creature, too, is affected by the corruption, its body streaked with it. As characters make contact using the gems, this corruption once again subsides DAMAGE CONTROL Aldrip has its own share of troubles during this time. Characters who prefer to stay close to home could find themselves charged with creating barriers to keep out octopus monsters that come closer and closer to town, seeking to take people to their giant hungry sea monster friend. With buildings and structures in danger from the rot, characters may also want to collect and use more of the gems from the cave in order to prevent further structural decay–or they might quickly need to help someone evacuate from a building too far gone and crumbling. There will also be plenty of people and crops that need healing from this corruption.aw

Anything Else?: i'm an oldie living over in AEST (australian eastern)! currently deep in trigun brainrot but i am also into eva, dorohedoro, blame!, berserk, dogs, gangsta, jojo, and many more which will be revealed to you gradually... i have three fur children and have gotten big into plants in 2023 so that is my life!

Crime: DISTURBING THE PEACE yes i know it is on the nose but also is it fully appropriate Y/Y?

Background: vash is a TOTALLY NORMAL, well-meaning guy who is all about love and peace in the world.

he hates: violence, murder, wet socks, getting shot at when he's just trying to live (please), running out of bullets just when he needs them (not to kill obv), himself (a lot of this, watch out)
he loves: pizza, humanity, making friends, donuts (that's a different adaptation but who doesn't hate donuts), deluding himself into thinking that he's doing A Good Job (debatable, the jury's still out), pretending that Everything Is Fine (it is not)

Abilities: vash is a PLANT, which is basically a genetically modified space alien designed to provide humans with resources and/or energy, just think of a giant battery ... except in vash's case he is largely useless, considering that he isn't able to generate anything, and he needs to eat and sleep to survive just like real humans. this will be important later because he has issues about being useless, okay? in terms of ~supernatural~ abilities the only thing he would be able to do in expiation is just glow pretty. again, more will be revealed to you down the line ....

other skills he has that might be useful are: sharpshooting, proper gun etiquette, random assortment of survival skills (outdoor things like camping??), crying, being pathetic, running away from his problems, and more!

Plans: i am new and interested in everything! it would be really fun to pit him against people who have different worldviews regarding the inherent goodness in people's hearts, etc because vash is idealistic and avoidant as hell about it, and i always love being able to rp out scenarios where his morals and ethics would be challenged!

i would also love to have him make friends - people who think he's a Certified Weirdo but put up with him because look at this guy, he is a melting popsicle of a man don't you feel bad for him???? - so positive and negative cr are all okay with me!

vash tries very hard to be liked and ingratiate himself with most people, so please hit me up or i will hit you up!!!!

RE: TDM THREADS: life got me good in december because it was the Socialising Month but I am ready to jump back into tags I owe! Happy for these threads to be game canon as well so please let me know otherwise :) I'm super excited to get to play with everyone!!!!

Canon Point: End of Episode 9 - Post tea party. You know the one.

Crime: Racketeering. He was just recently sentenced for trying to buy off a public official, so that's also a thing.

Background: Silco is a crime lord from an oppressed city called the Undercity (he calls it Zaun), and he rose to power using drugs, gangs and violence. He will do just about anything for his goals of a free undercity. His biggest weak spot is his adoptive daughter, Jinx.

Abilities: He is a normal human with normal human abilities.

Plans: Currently, he is taking over and setting up businesses in Aldrip and even Rumpitur. He owns the flower shop and two restaurants in Aldrip, and he has been selling medical supplies to Rumpitur. He also has recently been taken for sentencing, and his beef with the Council in Aldrip has increased to the point where he's probably going to have a mission paid for to bomb the City Hall. He also would like to put a hit on Jerry and the Council, but he doesn't yet have the resources for that but please feel free to sign up.

Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: after Hegemone is freed from enthrallment and Pandaemonium returned to 'normal', but before the Final Days and the Sundering that followed

Crime: Rebellion

Background: A very curious Ancient/Amaurotine. Grew up among researchers. Used to taking care of the world's most dangerous monsters.

Abilities: Creation magicks, shackling/binding magicks, and a really advanced spell called Internment that freezes both the target and the space around it. There's also a few others he can use when transformed, including a shiny spell called True Holy.

Plans: Man who grew up in a research facility is going to research (Was anyone surprised? Probably not). He picked up one of the glowing rocks and will discover its interaction with the soil because he will be wearing shiny rock while collecting samples to test... which as it turns out will NOT take a whole trip to Rumpitur to accomplish!

Character: Rolo lamperouge
Canon: Code Geass
Canon Point: Post-death

Crime: Serial murder

Background: Rolo was trained and working as an assassin since childhood, until he spent a year undercover as Lelouch's little brother and got a little too attached. He's still down to murder at the drop of a hat but he's figuring out how to be an actual human! Slowly. He's extremely emotionally stunted and his personality these days is an awkward synthesis of the coldly rational spy-assassin and the meek civilian. He generally tries to be unobtrusive but he also tends to shank first and ask questions later, especially where Lelouch is concerned.

Abilities: Besides being trained with various kinds of weapons, Rolo has a crazy power called a Geass that lets him freeze people's perception of time. He mostly uses this for quick and easy short-range assassination. The downside is that his heart also stops while he's using it, so it's limited to short bursts.

Plans: I'm new here so plans are still vague, but I'd like to explore Rolo figuring out feelings and genuine relationships and all that. He's not a sociopath, but he's pretty much lacking in empathy from how he was raised and needs to learn it from scratch. He's sticking with the civilian persona by default for now so as far as most strangers are concerned, he's just a kinda shy teen boy who clings to his older brother too much. He's susceptible to people just treating him with kindness and affection, but it'll take some work for him to actually trust or open up to anyone. I'm open to any kind of CR, positive or negative, and absolutely hit me up if you want your character to die for any reason lol

Crime: Literally being involved in the mafia

Background: Tsuna is the reluctant tenth generation heir to the Vongola mafia family. He was just supposed to be a guy, read a loser middle school student, but everyone else who was probably better at being a mafia boss than him either seriously beefed it or was an absolute dick, so he got the job. And well, sometimes the people who don't want to lead are the best for the job. But despite that, Tsuna's kind of cagey about those details, largely because, you know, mafia and all that.

But beyond that, he's your average shonen protagonist just trying to do his best. He's a bit clumsy and not the smartest, but he's got a lot of heart and is extremely loyal to his friends. Although he's also a trouble magnet. He doesn't ask for chaos, it just follows him home.

Abilities:
Dying Will - Manifesting as bright orange flames, Tsuna is able to use Dying Will to fight and fly. He enters into a specific mode known as Hyper Dying Will mode which gives him a bit of extra focus as he uses his power to it's full extent. His flames, in particular, are Sky Flames, which have the power of Harmonization.

Hyper Intuition - While I don't usually play this up, Tsuna has a Hyper Intuition that usually allows him to pick up on lies, vibes, and can see through illusions.

Plans: Tsuna has recently acquired a house that he is slowly turning into his own space. But he definitely needs help with some of the DIY elements.

Events in the game have also made him aware that he needs to be stronger, so he'll probably be focused on preparing for the next event that happens. He'll be open for training!

Not sure if he'll be interested in Octopus Monster Round 2, but he'll definitely be helping with the barriers!

Crime: Accomplice to Murder

Background: She’s the daughter of an affluent food company CEO. She’s got a mean green thumb, and picked up a strong interest in growing her own coffee/ finding her own way to show how she wanted Okumura Foods to be run during her confidant. When you meet her she’s a kind and well mannered sort of girl, and very shy. She forms meaningful relationships amidst the phantom thieves who ultimately decided to help her change her father’s distorted heart, and is able to blossom (get it because she gardens) into a strong and confident member of the team. Also she has a sadistic side it’s great.

Abilities: She’s a persona user, which in persona 5 is a manifestation of the user’s innermost personality and their definition of “justice”. Haru specializes in psychokinetic attacks, and her close ranged weapon is a battle axe.

Plans: it’s been a long time since I’ve been in a game with a character who could make long term goals. I’m excited to touch everything honestly! I would love for her to make both positive and negative CR. I would like to see her against characters that have different definitions of “justice” or “what is right”. For a bonus, i would love for her to have a gardening buddy. Honestly I’m open to a lot of things so please don’t be shy to ask!!

Anything Else?: hello! i live in EST and i am most active in the afternoon / late evenings! i enjoy all kinda fiction, especially horror, and i read and watch a fair amount of animanga. my brain is overtaken with trigun this past year and i suspect it'll be that way for a while...

Character: Knives (Nai)
Canon: Trigun Stampede
Canon Point: Episode 09 / The flashback episode!

Crime: Sending millions of humans to their deaths by crashing their space ships! He's also murdered a few dozen more humans since then.

Background: nai, or knives as he'll introduce himself as when asked, is a misanthropic teenager with a huge chip on his shoulder. he despises humanity and the inherent evil he believes all humans harbor, and fully throws himself into his cause: liberating their sisters (Plants) from being used and abused by humans for resources and power.

he's also not afraid to put up a fight with anyone who shows him hostility (it won't help that he's less than friendly), but those who don't look human will be given a little more leeway...

nai looks to be around 14-15 years old in age, is extremely smart, and is also the older twin brother to vash. because of his canon point he is physically much younger, but that won't stop him from pulling the big brother card where applicable.

Abilities: so nai doesn't need to eat, drink, or sleep because he is considered the perfect independent plant. he's tougher than the above average human and draws his power from his gate - a connection all plants share to a mysterious higher dimension. nai's abilities in canon are pretty vast, but at his current canon point he's limited to being able to summon metal shaped into blades on various parts of his body.

and just like vash, under the right circumstances, he glows...

Plans: i am down for ANYTHING. nai's cr will most likely veer towards neutral to negative simply because he can be antagonistic and cocky and extremely suspicious of generally everyone. he isn't afraid to whip out some knives and put them to good use especially if he feels threatened. i don't have any solid plans for him YET but i am always open to plotting ideas! nai is also extremely smart and tech-savvy, so he can be useful...

that being said i am very willing to work with anyone who would like cr with nai but aren't sure to go about to re: his entire attitude. he needs friends and people who can show him that others can be trusted and it isn't just "him vs the world"!

Crime: wearing shoes without socks.

Background: orphaned boy who got unwillingly drafted into a cult and was genetically engineered to become a lean, mean, killing machine. hauls around a 200lb cross-shaped laser gun, goes around calling himself an undertaker, and was tasked to bring home the twin brother of the guy who runs the cult... who also happens to be a genocidal psychopath. fun times!

you can fit so much trauma in this baby. nick is scrunkly, a bitter cynic and a liar, but once you work past that and his callous and self-serving exterior he's actually a big softie that won't hesitate to protect the people he cares about. surprisingly good with kids and birds. give him cigarettes and he'll love you forever. check out his app for more info!

Abilities: basically anime Steve Rogers but less America's Ass(tm) and a lot more scrunkly with no shield. he also has enhanced senses/reflexes and is a perfect shot; surprisingly very observant and adaptable, even if he doesn't look it.

Plans: like everyone else i am also down for anything!! but here's a quick breakdown:
- cheerful and/or persistent people who can drag him into friendships or helping out... he's a big sucker and has a hard time saying no.
- on the flip side, shady people he can sneak around with in shady places. wolfwood is trained to be observant and resourceful, and he'll likely poke around to get info wherever he can.
- drinking buddies?? drinking buddies.
- people with similar backstories/fucked up childhoods, get that sweet sweet trauma bonding in
- if you befriend his better half chances are he'll probably look out for you too
- idk im likely forgetting stuff but please know that i'm easy and down for everything and anything ok

I like MHA, JJK, DbD, FF14. I adore Google Sheets and I'll take any excuse to do something in it. There's almost nothing you can't do with it.

Crime: Murder

Background: Shoto was a shut in, trained kid and is now blossoming into a well adjusted hero. That still comes with a lot of bumps, he is socially dumb as a rock sometimes and doesn't always understand if you say something that isn't literal. Put him on a battlefield and you'd never know.

Abilities: He's a self contained air conditioner, he controls his body temperature on right or left depending on cold or hot in that order. He then uses it to project fire or ice defensively or offensively.

Plans: I wanna do the everything. How do I schedule the time for the everything lol. I'm fine for all kinds of CR. Negative CR is a little hard with him in the way that he will try to see the best in someone much like Midoriya. I welcome villains of any stripe into his life, I can't promise they'll be besties but I can promise there's almost no one I won't tag back somehow in some way.

If you need a villain, I have one! Silco is definitely looking for teenage boys, so he's working his way through the lot vetting them to see who might be worthwhile recruiting.

Given how much of the game already think he's sus and evil thanks to a castmate (and let's be real, look at him), it would throw him for a loop to meet someone who will try to see him in a different light. Also, thanks, he'll hate it.

I took a few years off from RP but now I'm back and playing from a 20 year old children's show. I'm generally extremely chill. My other hobbies are knitting, cooking, and making fancy cocktails. Also having a puppy. That's basically my job right now.

Character: Toph Beifong
Canon: Avatar: the Last Airbender
Canon Point: Post-canon with some sequel comics in there, particularly Toph Beifong's Metalbending Academy.

Crime: Swindling

Background: Toph is a sassy gremlin child. She is here to be your overpowered little sister who punches you into bettering yourself. Underneath that, she has a soft heart and despite pretending she doesn't care, she will absolutely help people out just because it's the right thing to do. She's also legitimately a great teacher of both martial arts and magical abilities, and will take it upon herself to school anyone who needs it.

Abilities: Toph is the most powerful earthbender in the world and maybe of all time. It's good for a wide range of things from fighting to construction to art. She can also metalbend and sandbend as extensions of earthbending. She can even do some rudimentary lie detecting when speaking with others, though it's not too difficult to fool if the person has good emotional control of their physical reactions. All that being said, she is still blind, and that carries some serious limitations. She can't track things in the air and she can't 'see' unless she actively has contact with solid ground.

Plans: Toph is allowed to earthbend the glowy rocks and she will be ALL OVER this January event. Her true love is fighting so she will absolutely be there when the fight goes down, but she's already been helping restore houses in the TDM and will easily keep doing that in-game. Also like, the obvious thing of her leading people through the caves to find more glowy rocks and make things with them. Toph is happy to learn from the locals and help out attaching them to people's weapons and armor and/or fling them directly at monsters. Fun!

Aside from event stuff, I love all kinds of CR with Toph -- positive and negative. Some easy dynamics for her are: bossy little sister, mentor or teacher, supportive sidekick, enthusiastic friend, scam artist, force of nature.

Crime: Desertion

Background: Child soilder and heroin addict from a hell world.

Abilities: Guns. Levi is real good with guns, mostly rifles and used to be a sharpshooter in his world. Also he's got some magic powers but it makes him crazy to use it

Plans: So I need Levi to get out more and wanna try to get him so close CR. Sometime in the future he's going to get addicted to shimmer or whatever drug Silco offers him and will end up in a downward spiral. I'd love for him to have some friends to help with that.
He's a nice guy! Shy and doesn't like to talk much, but he likes to help people out and would be a good buddy for monster hunting or something.

Crime: murder

Background: gojo is a teacher at a high school where he teaches kids to become super powerful sorcerers that fight cursed spirits. he is a sorcerer himself, proficient in martial arts, etc etc his canon point has him losing a pretty big fight so he's just been served a slice of humble pie, you could say. he is overall an easy going idiot but he does have trouble getting close to people so that's fun.

Abilities:
- Limitless: he can use infinity to create a barrier around himself, or to walk on air.......for about five minutes at a time :) he found this new limitation out the hard way :)

- Reverse curse technique: Gojo can heal himself. just a little bit tho, wonder how he will find that out :)

- martial arts: he is extremely proficient in martial arts, very fast, hits very hard, etc. it's kind of what he does for a living, you'd be surprised how much of defeating cursed spirits involves beating the shit out of them.

Plans: hmmmm well primarily at the moment gojo wants to go back to where he just was, wherever that was, thanks. so if anyone is publicly investigating how we got here and etc he would be interested. other than that, idk he could be helpful fighting monsters, he's going to be bored so anyone willing to do stupid shit with him will be his friend really fast. he's been in the habit of collecting powerful teenagers to cultivate into powerful adults so he might continue that here out of sheer habit? who knows.

Crime: That she's "cursed" and descended from a bloodline of people fated to turn into monsters. This is more superstition than fact - I'm leaning into the psychological prison aspect of the setting.

Background/Personality: Marianne's a quiet and unassuming noblewoman who has lived an isolated life because of her family's curse. She loves nature and animals and is a devout, gentle soul whose magic blood just so happens to give rise to destructive impulses in battle.

She's been here some months and has settled into the cottagecore life. You'll usually find her at the clinic where she works, on Astralin's farm looking after the animals, or in the meadows where she likes to take walks (maybe less often lately due to monster attacks). She's also part of Artzenritter, Ethlyn's healing troupe.

Abilities: She's got healing magic and elemental magic, but is otherwise a squishy mage not much for physical combat.

Plans:
She's worried for the animals/people due to the monsters roaming and will be looking for help to fortify the farms in Aldrip's outskirts.
She's a healer and can help take care of anyone who's sustained an injury!
She'll be staying back in Aldrip doing the above unless the healer troupe is rallied to ride out.

For new CR - Marianne makes for a kind and quiet friend for those who could use a soft presence in their life. She could use a little more confidence in herself and I'd love for CR that could help her or challenge her in that regard.
For existing CR - I fell off during the end of 2023 and would love to hit up old connections and deepen CR in the new year! I'm interested in afflicting her with the rot and its effects. She'll be anxious and afraid of herself again but also wanting to warn others and look for a solution. I'd like to use this chance for her to open up to existing CR about her family's curse, since it's also part of the sentencing she received, so lmk if you'd be up for that!

Crime: Aggravated Harassment

Background: Katsuki is a crude, rude ego-maniac who is on one of the biggest redemption arcs the world has seen, because his life goal is to become the Number One Hero!!! And you can't be the Number One Hero if you're an A W F U L former bully (especially the bully of Best Boy Izuku Midoriya :( !!) He yells a lot, everything pisses him off and your character is going to KNOW that, but underneath all of that explosive BS is a fiercely loyal friend who does have a heart of gold. He will fight for you, fight WITH YOU, and if you become actual friends with him, he will try to help you improve with him along the way. Might be a little pushy or heavy handed on that one, but he really does mean well!

Abilities: Katsuki's quirk (or super power, for the canon blind) is called Explosion. His sweat is a nitroglycerine like substance that he can explode with his hands! Big booms, small booms, he even collects that sweat (ew gross dude) and uses that in grenades and other "support" items to increase his capabilities. It's pretty awesome and he won't keep that a secret. More information is in his journal, if you'd like to read the full break down of it!

Another thing to note is he is very smart. One of the top kids in his class, don't let his shitty attitude fool you! Katsuki works very hard in everything he takes on, and is very upset by anything less than a flawless victory. He's a great addition to any adventuring team, in this regard.

Plans: WELP, I honestly do not quite know what I want to do with him upon intro! I am so open though, and am going to go poke around other plotting comments for game specific planning. AS FOR WHAT I WANNA DO WITH HIM IN GENERAL, because of [redacted for spoilers], I'm going to be looking to explore character/relationship growth. Redemption for his crimes, because he does not deny for a second that he is guilty of what he is accused of. Katsuki is going to be trying hard to build better relationships, do good in his new world, while trying to get his classmates HOME. All types of CR are welcomed, but I definitely want to be making him friends/allies and such.

Background: ex-celebrity, ex-detective, ex-assassin, ex-alive. A man of many trait. He's like an onion, the more you peel of him the more you cry.

In the past Akechi used to work with police department, solving mysterious violent crimes and gained popularity, becoming TV station's sweetheart. Turns out he actually was the true culprit behind many of those crimes he solved (oops) while working towards a conspiracy to help certain people in power to gain control of the country. There was a God involved there too. Anyway, now he realizes he was done goofed and is pretty much tired of pretending, being his lovely asshole-self. Tho during his stay expiatiation he's almost been domesticated so..

Abilities:
Being a Persona user, Akechi has some demon voices in his brain. He can summon both Loki and Robin Hood, giving him access to Bless, Curse and Almighty spells. Other than that he's ok with sword and excellent gunmanship skills.

Plans: Akechi got sentenced!! Meaning he has to make 3 new friends and be HONEST with them. Good luck pancake boy. This will go well, seeing that Akechi publicly advocated massacring the population from their neighboring town, which uh.. got some opinions. And hilariously enough, if he fails at making friends he will just find it harder to resist all those violent and other darker urges, so who knows. He might as well go and do some assassination in the worst case scenario. :)

Other than that, he's looking into this whole Council business. He has small law-firm kind of business with Dazai, where they help ppl to deal with the sentencing stuff and other Council bs.

Abilities: I am literally going to copy and paste this from my app every single time because ain't got time to write anything witty about it:

Mitsuru has the ability to summon a handy little thing called a “Persona”. They are fundamentally like alter egos that possess incredible abilities. In Mitsuru’s Persona’s case, it is called Artemisia. Its specialties are ice, healing, and foul status inflicting magic. It also possesses scanning and analysis ability, although this isn’t quite as strong. Personas are summoned with a tool called an evoker, which basically resembles a gun. (cw for self-harm, suicidal imagery) It is used to summon the Persona by pointing the device at your head as if shooting yourself, thus breaking down all mental barriers and fears and allowing it to emerge.

Plans: Okay so right now I really want her to suffer with the corruption effects, because so far in game she's had things pretty easy all things considered and I want her to be forced to tap into those negative emotions. Particularly because of where I've taken her from in canon and the loss and betrayal she's just had to get through. She hasn't really addressed this since she arrived.

On a less serious note, she's been taking monster hunting jobs to make coin since she arrived which I've kind of been handwaving but I've discussed the possibility of her using her Persona's abilities to "accidentally" charm one of them into following her home. Hilarity ensues.

Crime: Criminal negligence and public endangerment

Background: Izuku is a friendly, awkward, genuinely heroic sweetheart of a teenager who is not always the best at social interaction but he tries his best, and is an incurable meddler who won't turn down an opportunity to try to help others. He also happens to be a superhero-in-training, and has been through Some Shit. As a head's up, that includes not only trauma resulting from hero activities but also over a decade of severe bullying that included a lot of physical violence, a lot of emotional abuse and social ostracization, and an instance of what can only be described as attempted inciting suicide. All of this has very noticeably affected his behavior, his mental health, and who he is as a person. I'll be doing my best to reach out and post CWs whenever exploring specific instances of trauma or bullying is likely to come up, and both understand and encourage telling me to avoid going into it with you/your characters if you feel more comfortable that way.

Abilities: Izuku has a superpower ("Quirk") called One For All, which 1) can be transferred from person to person and 2) collects whatever other superpower the last user had and brings it along when it gets passed to someone else and has basically become a superpower swiss army knife. His app lists all of them, though the most important one is the 'base' ability of stockpiling power - it's essentially a form of super-strength/physical enhancement that Izuku can channel to all or some of his body and 'dial in' the power output and resulting enhancement on a scale of 1% to 100%. Some of his superpowers can also seriously physically wreck him if he isn't careful.

Plans: I'm trying to recover from just completely falling off the face of the planet at the end of the year, so keeping plans light for the moment outside of pre-planned shenanigans so I don't panic myself out of backtags - if you get something truly ancient from me feel free to ignore it. Izuku's still struggling with (read: refusing to really fully process) dying at the start of last month, and will be throwing himself into helping people hold off the corruption and going Round 2 with yon seabeast as that kicks off. Other than that, I just really want to get myself back in the flow of things and get some casual CR things going where I can, kiddo needs some calm self-care time. And also for someone to make him remember self-care is important and a thing he should do

Background: Yu is a good boy and a secret nerd whom everyone mistakes fit a chad somehow, but it's mostly accidental??

As a protagonist, he makes it His Business to get involved in everyone else's business. He has probably two dozen part time jobs, no fewer than five correcting of random stuff, and a horde of cats at the farm that he feeds regularly. He also frequents a couple of the school-like club activities on the regular, namely cooking club and Scott's abilities club.

Abilities: Personas! Yu is a wildcard, meaning he can summon a bunch of them. He's also good with a sword in a pinch.

Plans: my plans for January are just starting to come together. I'm considering having him be affected by the corruption, possibly because he'll be investigating it and trying to find its source. In spite of this, I do want to have him fight the creature. Depending on how things go, he might not be all for killing it, but yeah.

After the fight, he'll be helping with damage control and repairs, and may need some help with his own corruption. He'll be leaning hard into doing tasks, sidequests, errands, etc. So please ask him for stuff!

Background: Grumpy teen recently discovered that he's a mutant arrives in a new world and thus becomes even grumpier. However, he's doing a lot better now, due to making a lot of friends, accepting his powers (mostly), and having a girlfriend, so more on the friendly side nowadays with some attitude still because he's 17. Still wants to do normal things and have fun, but also taking things a little more seriously because of a couple of his friends died in November. Not quite an X-Man yet.

Abilities: Uncontrollable optic blasts, so don't stand in front of him when his glasses are off. He doesn't have his visor yet, so he can't even control their power. Also sees everything in a shade of red, so fun for him.

Plans: Scott's becoming a little more serious and wants to be a better fighter because of stuff's that happened. But also, he's down to hanging out with other teens his age. He could always use more adults/mentor figures in his life. Or come and antagonize him, that's great too.

So really, I'm cool with any CR!

For current event, he's going to be affected by the corruption and is going to generally be a lot more sad/low energy. Plus, his crime being changed to murder isn't going to feel good.

Canon Point: It's Chapter 5 and she and her husband have just arrived, but they're at the bottom of the map and you're at the top and you can do nothing to stop Thracia's dracoknights from cutting them to pieces turn by turn

Crime: "The crimes of the Grannvale Empire"

Background: Ethlyn is, for a number of reasons, someone who sees herself as the Sensible Mom Friend. She was a noblewoman back home (first a duke's daughter and then the princess consort of the country she happily married into). She and hubby went off to support her brother when he accidentally started a war on a second front for Grannvale (hence the crime) which then spiraled out of control and was used by an evil dragon cult to resurrect their evil dragon god, because Fire Emblem.

Ethlyn and her husband died in a desert ambush and after seeing some bits of her world's events through In-Game Events, she's pretty sure that everyone else she knew is dead, but at least her kids survived, so she has very complicated feelings about all of that. Thankfully, she's also experienced enough Character Development in Expiation to have figured out that "just power through it" does not really work on that kind of trauma and she should probably talk about it instead.

Abilities:

- First aid
- Sword's (as in basically any sword even if it's brand-new to her because her line is slightly blessed to be good at them)

Plans:

1. Arztenritter: Ethlyn founded an EMT-like horseback brigade whose numbers have fluctuated over the year and are now pretty low! So she is going to be ACTIVELY RECRUITING healers and riders, whether it's people with experience or who are just keen to learn.
   
2. Dead People Support Group: Lots of people here died before or after arriving in Expiation! And she has read about this thing called a Support Group and figures WELL LET'S TRY IT OUT.
   
3. Plotplot: Ethlyn got a Plot Coupon a while ago because she carried out her sentencing, which she will probably post about on the network.
   
4. The Rot: Ethlyn will be trying to figure out how to medicine it as per this and looking for volunteers to help (both as gatherers and testers). She will also start becoming affected by it herself, which will. Be fun lmao.

Crime: Being a monster in human guise

Background/Personality: William was adopted and raised by a family of undead heroes after they rescued him from a group of demons intending to use him as a sacrifice. He grew up isolated from the world, but they taught him everything they knew so that he would be able to survive once he reached the age of maturity and left home. His middle and surname is a tribute to them: Au(G)ustus, Mary, and Blood. William's martial prowess and piety eventually earnt him the honour of being annointed a paladin. It is his life's goal to restore the name of his patron goddess, Gracefeel, and to fight against her sworn enemy, the god of undeath, Stagnate.

Abilities: He possesses the very typical abilities you would associate with a paladin. Wards against toxins, dark magic, the ability to steel his allies against fear etc., and also the power to lay the dead to rest. His physical strength is monstrous. He's not necessarily a spectacular mage but he's very good at adapting lesser spells to situations, which is more important than brute strength (as Gus taught him).

Plans:
I currently have a plotting post for those who want to join him in eradicating (or perhaps capturing?) the giant creature that attacked them last event. Please comment if you'd like to contribute in some way! Can be as a fighter or providing aid/resources.

I think this will probably consume my efforts for the month for William but I'm open to other plotting!

Emet-Selch | Final Fantasy XIV

Crime: "Failed in his duty to his people." (Changed due to his rehab!)

Background/Personality: Emet-Selch is the main antagonist of the Shadowbringers expansion. Known to most as an 'Ascian', he is considered a paragon amongst others of his kind, along with two others. His current guise, however, is that of the first emperor of the Garlean Empire - Solus zos Galvus. First impressions paint him as a grumpy, dour man who acts a lot older than he looks. But get to know him better and maybe you'll see that he cares more than he lets on.

Abilities: He is functionally a god to most "normal, human" characters. He can create things out of seemingly nothing and is an incredibly strong mage. At least, he was before the nerf by Expiation. Also, weirdly enough, wields a greatsword and gunblade with skill (probably a lot of other weapons too but why learn something new?).

Plans:
- Emet-Selch currently works as a healer at the clinic so he will no doubt be dealing with corruption cases. He is also likely to be helping set up defensive barriers given his control of magic.

- Since my other character, William, will be leading the beast-repelling efforts, Emet will be roped into helping as an offensive mage from the back line.

- Besides that I think I only have personal plots with canonmates so if anyone wants to drag Emet into trouble please drop me a message!
