INTRO MEME

Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

MARCH EVENT

MARCH EVENT SUMMARY

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY

Characters wake up on the morning of March 11 to note a few things with relative immediacy. First, the weather is beautiful: warm, breezy, sunny. Second, all of the locals in Aldrip and the surrounds seem to have vanished. Third, these things seem totally normal to the Chosen–who now all believe that they are native to Aldrip.

That’s right. You’ve lived here your whole life. Everything you’ve ever known is this world.

Characters will go about their daily business in lives that they believe have always been like this. You’re free to choose any jobs, roles, backgrounds, and connections with other Chosen for your characters, so long as they believe that they have always lived in Expiation. All character powers are gone, or dormant, for most of the event. More on that later.

LOST AND FOUND

Occasionally, while going about their daily activities, characters will come across an item that seems strangely incongruous with the world they know. This will begin happening after the first few days of the event. A symbol particularly relevant to your character’s canon, for example, or a book. Watches, jewelry, cards, photos, small trinkets and tableaus–all of these are fair game.

Everything in your character will tell them not to look at these objects. Their entire being will try to resist them. If they do, the item disappears when they leave its immediate area. What item? They forget about the entire encounter. Strange.

Touching or interacting with these objects or moments will force a strange memory into their head–a memory of a past life, or a dream, maybe. These are your characters’ real memories, and as the event goes on, they will be able to either collect or ignore more of them. You’re free to engage with as many or as few of these as you like. We’ll ask on the event poll how many you interact with, and how many you ignore. The final count may have lasting repercussions on your characters and/or the world of Expiation, so please pay attention to the poll! Not all of these instances need to be threaded out.

There will be an RNG ELEMENT in this event, as well. Please note that characters who are picked for RNG have a small but nonzero chance that RNG effects could have a long-lasting impact on them.

Crime: murder

Background: a sorcerer and teacher who is the most powerful around, or at least he was until he got here :)

Abilities: limitless - basically can summon and invisible impenetrable layer of infinity around himself. but only for 5 minutes at a time. also this lets him walk on air so basically he can fly, kind of.

Plans: gojo needs friends!! i know this is a tall order bc he's really annoying but he does his best, honest. for the event i think i will have him working at a little shop selling trinkets bc he loves shit like that.

How can you run into my character? gojo is around all over the place! anywhere you wanna meet him just hit me up.

"really annoying" is just the kind of challenge for a protag, and yu usually finds it weirdly endearing. i'd love to see how he and gojo get along, either during the event or outside of it

oh that will be fun! im down for either, he wanders around aldrip trying to not be bored usually, and for the event im going to have him be a goofy trinket peddler. the guy that comes up to you on the street with a coat full of random goods. he would be prime material for a "my weird uncle" kind of role if that interests you!

WEIRD UNCLE LOL. Honestly that would be fun. Yu works at a couple of stores, if he ever peddles trinkets to businesses in town

gojo needs, nay, deserves to be friends with someone as annoying as he is

so yes, yes, yes pls!!

I won't say their mannerisms are exactly the same BUT I believe they've both got the silly goose gene. I daresay they could be related for the current AU event if you're down to clown that way

If not I'll still make sure to chuck Gogol his way soon so they can have the most annoying dynamic of all time

it would be pretty funny if they were brothers or something in the AU, that way they could clown together and have a reason to hang out after the event.

Wandering back several days later to say heck yeah sign me up!!!!!!!

HI yes i am super down for that!! right now gojo is on this kick about finding a "barrier" between the worlds for no reason other than he reasoned out in his head it might be possible, someone brought up to him finding such a thing and breaking it might kill everyone here and his response was "HOW INTERESTING I WONDER WHERE ALL THE DEAD PEOPLE WOULD GO". so that's what he's up to right now. i think even here he has an interest in young people with powerful abilities so he would certainly be interested in minato. we could contrive for them to meet in any way you please, really. or just wait for the event where he will be a traveling salesman peddling random weird shit and let them meet that way. im down for whatever!

1. But is it Really murder if redacted was dying anyways and Gojo did it without ill intent.......

The way Minato would let himself get caught up in Gojo trying to figure this out like "sure why not" HCKSHDJS I think I'd prefer for them to meet outside the event since iirc powers get sealed during it? My top-level at the farmhouse mingle could be a good way for Gojo to realize Minato has Some form of powers since... gestures towards prompt 1.... But if you'd like something more tailored we can definitely inbox something!

so, gojo can still see cursed energy, and after talking to the mods they suggested that most chosen would probably give off some manner of cursed energy bc of the worlds they came from. do you think a persona would look the same as a demon in gojo's vision?

Personally I think they would! Especially since a lot of Personas ARE demons. So I think it would be reasonable for them to look like demons in Gojo's cursed energy vision.
