INTRO MEME
Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

MARCH EVENT
MARCH EVENT SUMMARY
IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY
Characters wake up on the morning of March 11 to note a few things with relative immediacy. First, the weather is beautiful: warm, breezy, sunny. Second, all of the locals in Aldrip and the surrounds seem to have vanished. Third, these things seem totally normal to the Chosen–who now all believe that they are native to Aldrip.
That’s right. You’ve lived here your whole life. Everything you’ve ever known is this world.
Characters will go about their daily business in lives that they believe have always been like this. You’re free to choose any jobs, roles, backgrounds, and connections with other Chosen for your characters, so long as they believe that they have always lived in Expiation. All character powers are gone, or dormant, for most of the event. More on that later.
LOST AND FOUND
Occasionally, while going about their daily activities, characters will come across an item that seems strangely incongruous with the world they know. This will begin happening after the first few days of the event. A symbol particularly relevant to your character’s canon, for example, or a book. Watches, jewelry, cards, photos, small trinkets and tableaus–all of these are fair game.
Everything in your character will tell them not to look at these objects. Their entire being will try to resist them. If they do, the item disappears when they leave its immediate area. What item? They forget about the entire encounter. Strange.
Touching or interacting with these objects or moments will force a strange memory into their head–a memory of a past life, or a dream, maybe. These are your characters’ real memories, and as the event goes on, they will be able to either collect or ignore more of them. You’re free to engage with as many or as few of these as you like. We’ll ask on the event poll how many you interact with, and how many you ignore. The final count may have lasting repercussions on your characters and/or the world of Expiation, so please pay attention to the poll! Not all of these instances need to be threaded out.
There will be an RNG ELEMENT in this event, as well. Please note that characters who are picked for RNG have a small but nonzero chance that RNG effects could have a long-lasting impact on them.

kotone's a bright and cheerful girl who masks her depression by simply outrunning her sad feelings and inserting herself into everyone's lives and business. she was the leader of a group of demon-fighters called SEES, but here in aldrip, she doesn't have anybody who remembers her from her team here, so you know-! more sad things to outrun.
Abilities:
kotone can summon a few different personas, or manifestations of her soul (angels, demons, or other mythological figures) using a gun-like tool called an evoker. of course, persona 3 is the edgy persona so they summon their demons by pointing the evoker at their head; any thread featuring use of evoker will feature the cw: suicidal imagery.
Plans:
general always plan: please join her fun after-school (there's no school) clubs. she has a cooking club and a sewing club and is constantly looking for new members!
for the event: i'm still thinking about her AU backstory, but i'm pretty sure she's going to think she's lived on the farm for a long time! characters might recognize her from picking up fresh produce or other goods from the farm -- but i'm also so interested in talking about what, if anything, about their relationships will be different. 👀
How can you run into my character?
kotone is just about everywhere! she has a building specifically for her clubs that she can be found at, as well as astralin's farm/hot springs on the outskirts of town. she's also working at bar lupin in the evenings. in short, if it's around aldrip, she can be found there! she tends to stay close to town instead of wandering too far out into the mountains or into the countryside beyond the farm.
there's also an open mingle log set at the farm! please come hang out! old and new characters welcome 😊

i know a popular Thing in fandom is doing them as siblings, so that's a possibility!! 🤔 or maybe something else? my brain is blanking i am very tired lol. but yes i'd love to do something thematically appropriate for them both!

YEAH I've definitely come across that Thing in fandom!! If you'd like to run with that it would be cool with me! rn I have Minato as Sha-Ming's adoptive brother whom Sha-Ming basically raised after their parents passed, but Vi has already said if the 2 of us wanted to incorporate Kotone and Minato being related as well that'd be cool with them!
Crying from the thought of Minato choosing to start a sports club of all things... Jock by necessity what can we say... My fave club to pick for him is usually the kendo club since that's my fave out of all the options...
Also yeah if Kotone called him that very specific morning he would. Have a pretty good idea about Why she wants to hang out. Me realizing how terrible Kotone must be feeling rn for Ken to disappear around this time as well and for Minato to incidentally show up late Feb/early March... I would not blame Kotone for thinking maybe that's it, but yeah they can hang out and chat!! Esp since even if these 2 haven't known each other that long he. Might actually be the one who understands how she's feeling around this time of the year given his own experiences...

but yeah, that could be fun for the AU!! just these two polar opposite siblings -- maybe kotone ended up with astralin and minato with sha-ming? or alternatively, maybe they're not Actually Related but their parents both died in the same circumstances (several people killed in some kind of attack or accident so both of them were orphaned at the same time)
