INTRO MEME

Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

JULY EVENT SUMMARY

DATABREACH

The system has always been unstable, but in early July, that instability reaches a tipping point. Glitches, which have long since been part of the world of Expiation, become more severe and more difficult to ignore, affecting player characters in addition to the setting itself. These glitches can manifest in many ways, including the following ideas:

- Your character may, for small periods of time (ie several hours, probably up to a day or so), be glitched into an “alternate” version of themselves. These can be canon alternates (ie a bad ending, alternate timeline, mirrorverse, etc version of them) or can be any sort of AU made up by you. We encourage you to get creative with this!

- Your character may be affected for short periods of time by previous in-game events. See the EVENTS tag in the log community for ideas.

- Your character may be subject to the more “typical” glitch effects that the setting of Expiation has experienced in the past. Disappearing and reappearing, losing parts of themselves (was their hair always so pale? Or maybe their arm has gone missing? etc!)

They may also lose memories, items, powers, or abilities for various lengths of time.

These are just suggestions! If you have other ideas for how these “glitches” could manifest for your character, we encourage you to run wild with them.

GNOSIA INFECTION PLAYER PLOT

During the third week of July, the instability in the system becomes catastrophic, resulting in a cascading series of failures that ultimately releases a Gnosia infection that can affect any number of characters. This event will be opt-in. You can find further information on the Gnosia infection plot here!

The Gnosia infection will last for one week, but the glitches will continue for the foreseeable future.

Hello mods! I have a few questions:

-When characters glitch into “alternate” version of themselves, would they have any memory of Expiation or are they fresh out of whatever canon point you pull from? Or just up to player discretion?

-Will regular Scott remember anything from when he glitches into his other versions?

-When they glitch into their alternative selves, do they have all the powersets that comes with them? Like... if a version of Scott had Phoenix in him...

Crime: Defection from the Orion Syndicate. THANKS, SHE HATES IT. She hates it enough that she's been telling people it's "failure to adhere to Starfleet dress code"

Background: SHE'S HERE. Tendi has dreamed of joining Starfleet since she was a kid, but it took a lot of guts and action to make it happen. She won't tell many people this (especially the other Starfleet folks in game), but she was raised from childhood to be a prime assassin for the Orion Syndicate. She has a lot of hidden abilities related to this, such as hijacking ships, hand-to-hand combat, unique problem solving, and a really good scary pirate growl.

The thing is, mostly, she's a huge nerd, and a delightful little cinnamon roll who just wants friends and really wants to be liked. She never wanted to be a pirate and is deeply uncomfortable with the violent aspects of her culture (and the cultural expectation for Orions as a whole throughout the galaxy). She just wants to study moss and code DNA and explore strange new worlds! She's been able to do that for some time, and that makes her even more super mad to be here.

Abilities: Tendi doesn't have any superhuman abilities, but she's smart as heck and good with tech. As I mentioned above, she also has a whole host of other abilities she's honed over the years, such as hand-to-hand combat, weapons proficiency, piloting, and nerves of steel hidden under her boisterous and easily-excitable exterior.

Plans: OH BOY I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS. Lemme organize them here.

STEM STUFF. Tendi is going to stick her nose right into it. I know the stem crew is working with the AI stuff, and Tendi is both all over it and also freaking out about it, because the Borg Stuff was NOT THAT LONG AGO. She'll be interested in interfacing with the tech aspects of Expi that are coming to light, but is also going to be very skeptical of them.

Crime: Quantum murder............he did do that.

Background: Junpei is like if sour candy was a person and could also quantum leap. He's a Normal Guy who very abruptly got sent through two (TWO!!) death games, no one ever explains anything to him, he doesn't know how to process death game trauma, he studied bitcoin in college until he dropped out right before graduating to become a private detective with a death game friend, he's Edgy now, he collects sneakers--

Fundamentally, he's just some guy who very unwillingly was pushed into discovering his literal psychic powers and getting traumatized/quantum killed a bunch. He's too empathetic and wants to save everyone but also is embarrassed by this fact about himself... ugh... also he's never seen Titanic.

Abilities: He will Discuss quantum leaping inevitably but he can't do it in the game for obvious reasons. He will bitch about this too. That's It.

Plans: Junpei is going to see one (1) glitch and start banging his head into walls to find the seam through which he can clip through the world and escape. He may T-pose about it. This is not a bit, he's going to go ham over simulation theory nonsense (tm).

Besides THAT, I would like for him to make some friends that he can glue himself to and get way too protective of, despite being Some Guy... He's extremely weak to fellow dweebs, women who'll boss him around, smart people who'll neg him a little, big golden retriever types, kids.... yeah. Do You Want A Clingy Puzzle Pal?

As for JULY EVENTS....... I will 99% be throwing him into Gnosia RNG so he can have the best/worst introductory event ever. Yaaaay. In terms of the glitches, the big one I can think of is.... oldpei... would anyone be interested in junpei but when he's old. lmao. hang out with peepaw.

Background: Teenage monster fighter turned delinquent pill-popper turned wanna-be martyr. Like all the persona kids, he's seen some shit. He's kinda chill in expi now but MAYBE THIS EVENT CAN SHAKE THAT UP????

Abilities: -A Persona!

- he slowly regenerates HP when left to his own devices
- He can counter physical attacks but I only use that for hilarity or like cool moments

I signed up for RNG for the Gnosia event, so who knows what I'll get. Maybe will be killing you guys maybe will be saving you, MAYBE WILL BE HORRIFICALLY TRYING TO CURE YOU IDK. Depending on what I roll, I'll either go for soon some murders, trying to entice and lure murders for the Gnosia, freaking out at having to do MEDICAL THINGS???, or throwing himself into danger for people and probably getting into trouble idk.

Character: Akihiko Sanada
Canon: Persona 3
Canon Point: Right before the last boss fight, yikes.

Crime: Impulsivity. He needs to think before diving in to the fight more often.

Background: Teenage high schooler with ability to summon a manifestation of their psyche, to go into the 25th hour of the day to defeat monsters and try to save the world. One third of a senpai unit. Akihiko's favourite things are working out, jogging, training, and destroying nutrition in food by attempting to cook it.

Abilities:
- Summons his persona, which in turn allows electric/lightning based skills.
- Physical combat.

Plans: So Akihiko is still relatively new but is now settled enough to really get to see the chaos that this place provides. I have signed him up for RNG because all the roles sounded great so in that aspect I don't have anything solid planned. I would like for him to be out there, meeting new people and establishing new CR.

Edit: he's a doctor in the event and will be healing people by punching them.

How can you run into my character? Akihiko can always be relied on jogging certain routes in the morning and the evening. Or hanging around near the casino, probably training.

Anything Else?: Hi, I'm Kia, I am in the hell of jrpgs, Persona especially, and when I'm not knee-deep in FGO and HSR I'm tossing up pictures of animals that are and are not mine!

Character: Chain Sumeragi
Canon: Blood Blockade Battlefront
Canon Point: She's from chapter 5 of Beat 3 Peat, which is like the third "season" of the manga (though I pray one day we'll get a third anime season)

Crime: Existence denial :)

Background: Chain comes from a version of New York that got a hole opened up into it from the Beyond three years ago, so now it's full of supernatural entities who are also either living their lives with humans or causing world-ending problems on a daily basis. Chain is a part of Libra, a secret organization that strives to keep the balance between worlds, and does a lot of work for them that you will probably not hear about for the longest time.

When she's not doing that, she's calmly drinking people under the table and being a bit of a troll. Diversity!

Abilities:

- Invisible Werewolf; think "where", not "were", so she is sadly not turning into a huge wolf under the light of the full moon, but she is able to to make herself "not exist" in several planes, including being invisible, passing through solid objects, diminishing her weight so she can defy gravity to some extent and erasing her entire existence but that would also make it so she never existed so she won't be doing that here.
- She is a very... very.... good drinker. Doesn't mean she can't get drunk, but she's very hard to go against in a drinking contest. You should definitely drink with her.
- Great at roasting others. This is sometimes her love language but sometimes she's just Rude.

Plans: Chain has already gone around claiming to be a part of an escort service, because she can't exactly say she's from a secret organization, and I'd like to see how far she can take it, I'm sorry to everyone else.

But otherwise I'd like her to hit some glitches (she will not be that weirded out by disappearing, she does that on the daily) and I'll probably chuck her at the Gnosia event because who doesn't love dealing with this as a newbie? Amazing! Love it. She'll be Thrilled.

That aside, please, I just want her to get more CR, she's kind of aloof and composed, but she's capable of having a sense of humor/getting frazzled and getting her friends and people to eventually do over-the-top levels of caring for to the point They Will Never Know It Was Her is my ultimate goal.

How can you run into my character? Find her at any drinking establishment or in any high spot or at the inn, she's still acclimating!

If she wants, Elizabeth is trying to find more about humanity, and knows NOTHING about drinking. If she wants to get a newbie drunk, I think it would be hilarious, since people who know Liz want to keep her as far from booze as possible.

Psi | Fandaniel (FFXIV spoilers for basically everything up through Endwalker)

Anything Else?: I really love video games. I talk about them, play them, and make them for a living. I spend my non-gaming time being an elderly woman who lives with her dog and three cats in coastal Maine. Sometimes I eat Thai food. Truly I am the most fascinating human ever.

My fandoms are Suikoden, Final Fantasy, Baldur's Gate, Devil May Cry, DC Comics, Marvel 616, Monkey Island, Metal Gear, Legend of Zelda, Tales of, and other gaming/nerd franchises too numerous to list.

I used to play here when the game first opened as Vholran Igniseri (finisaeternam) and Sephiroth (iravehementi). You may have seen Seph on the TDM because I was 90% sure I was going to try bringing him back.

...That's not what happened, though.

Character: Fandaniel
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: Immediately after The Dark Inside

Crime: Despair

Background: Fandaniel here is a whimsical, flamboyant, eccentric fellow who thinks in theater metaphors and loves talking, moving, and dancing. He tends to be very playful with people and even when he is acting more subdued, he is more lively than most. He's also an ancient energy being currently hanging out in the corpse of a dead samurai twink.

When he was mortal, Fandaniel was a scientist and was exceptionally brilliant even by the standards of his technologically advanced society. He specialized in "aetherochemistry" and technology. His hobbies included cutting the heads off rival court mages and replacing them with the heads of dogs, theater, reading, building techno-kaiju out of bound demons like this fucking thing, and torturing dragons while wiring them into a giant moon battery that forced them to summon their god. As one does. In short, he got into a lot of straight-up nonsense. The dragon moon battery worked out well for the world, though. Nothing famously horrible happened with it.

Anyway, these days Fandaniel might have an outwardly lively demeanor but beneath that, he is crippled by centuries worth of despair, righteous fury, and extreme self-loathing. His main agenda is to die and stay dead and make sure everyone else also dies and stays dead. His position among his fellow energy beings was that of "Fandaniel, Observer-- Assayer of extant phenomena and overseer of life." After thousands of years, he's decided that life has no purpose other than to promote suffering so he intends to end that suffering with his own hand even if it means acting against everything people think of as "good".

He's a miserable, sadistic, nihilistic monster and generally a shit-horror of a character and I love him very much.

TL;DR VERSION: Flamboyant energy being. Acts like a clown but is actually very depressed. Mad sadist who delights in torment. Hates you, hates himself, hates the world. Really wants to die. Also part-time comic relief despite all this.

Abilities: As an Ascian, Fandaniel can do the following:

• Conjure shadow chains and bind people with them


• Possess dead bodies (but he has to return to his current vessel after a time)


• Chuck spells around like a wizard


• View the memories of others by observing the person while they are remembering something


• Fly


• Create objects with his own aether which he usually uses to create clothes and disguises


• Teleport

Also, he has no shadow. Weird, right? Probably nothing to worry about.

It's worth noting he rarely uses his more combat-focused abilities. He doesn't like fighting unless he's very sure he can win.

His greatest "ability" is his intelligence. He's an obnoxious turbo-genius.

Plans: Fandaniel here is an insatiably curious scientist who will sometimes let his enemies gain an advantage just because he wants to know what will happen when they do. So you know what that means! Exploration and SCIENCE NERDERY. Do you play a science nerd? Fandaniel will want to team up and investigate Expiation, get to know how the locals work, screw with local technology etc. Keep in mind he is a sadistic maniac so at some point Mount Fandaniel will erupt and cover Aldrip in molten crazy but before then, hey, science nerds can nerd together!

FOR THE EVENT: No concrete plans yet because I just got here (goodness!) but I am thinking the glitches will mess with Fandaniel's memories, including the ones from his past life, making him very hostile and/or awkward to be around. Once the Gnosia part of things kicked in I think I'd like for him to be a Doctor. So. If you'd like a mad scientist in the middle of an identity crisis to treat your Gnosia infection hit me up!

How can you run into my character? He is brand new to the setting and is a homeless weirdo. He is also gregarious despite hating people. So you can find him just about anywhere. He's particularly interested in the chocobos these days. Why are they here?

IMPORTANT NOTE Fandaniel is usually a playful, whimsical eccentric and as much comedy relief as villain but this character can get very intense. Themes around him include suicide, despair, existential horror and hopelessness, nihilism and extreme self-loathing. You can read more about this on his OPT OUT. Please do not hesitate to opt out of interactions if you want to. I understand some of this character's themes are more heavy than people might want to deal with in RP.

Hi I'm Hibiki and I love Fandaniel! I was so stoked to see him around on the TDM I just never got time to tag him, sorry! I would definitely love for CR, not sure how it would work but I'm down for it! Akihiko is like, the most mundane of his bunch in that he likes exercising, boxing, zapping his enemies with lightning via a manifestation of his psyche, and probably long walks.

Crime: Severe child endangerment.

Background: Nasty science man who has no qualms about experimenting on anyone and everyone for his eternal quest for knowledge. His sense of morals are truly messed up because he's not the kind of person who is laughing maniacally as he does these things. Instead, he keeps a persistent friendly demeanor that is absolutely sincere. So when he compliments people even when they're trying to kill him... he absolutely means it. He likes everyone.

On account of his messed up behaviors and canon, he has a permissions page. If you need to opt out, please by all means. I will completely understand.

Abilities: You can find them in more detail here but I'll summarize!

• A bunch of equipment either he invented, discovered, or adapted onto his armor.
• An insane sense of willpower.

Plans:

• Bondrewd is already interested in what's going on and will be trying to get his hands in every pie. He genuinely is interested in making things easier for other Chosen, but at the same time he wants to know the limits of Aldrip and Chosen alike.
• SCIENCE.
• He really does want to befriend people! Everyone is so interesting to him.
• Bondrewd will be involved in the Gnosia plot, and regardless of whatever role he takes he's going to be killing people lmao i'm sorry. I'll add more to that page soon if you want to get horribly killed by Bondrewd.
• Socializing. :3c
• The most that he will be "glitching" is that sometimes he will be... fuzzier than usual. This is for you furries.

How can you run into my character? Bondrewd will be exploring every nook and cranny of town. He wants to know about resources, he wants to know the lifestyles and supplies. How everything functions.

Crime: illegal trading / murder

Background:

Criminally insane, Jinx has a love for wanton chaos, destruction, and anarchy, and gets easily bored if these reckless urges are left unsatisfied for too long. Jinx isn't shown to think much about the consequences of her behavior and generally acts before thinking, which can lead to people getting hurt easily when around Jinx. While she is clearly a gifted inventor, Jinx is also extremely scatterbrained, forgetting scientific terms and instead imitating gun noises while she constructs her weapons.

Jinx is often portrayed to be hyperactive and very childish, complaining when she doesn't get what she wants and calling others by immature names, giving Vi nicknames such as "Fat-Hands" and "Stupid". With her carefree, self-centered attitude, Jinx doesn't care about money, order, or what others think about her and just destroys what she wants when she wants. Despite this, she still likes to get recognition for her many crimes and is capable of showing off to the Piltover police, knowing that no matter what goes down, she will always get away.

Despite her immature and silly demeanor, Jinx is still a significant force of evil and malice, even if in her crazed mind she sees it as a game. She would put on a veneer of a bubbly and energetic person, only to hide the hurt and trauma of past events. She's also very sarcastic, extroverted with a twisted sense of humor.

Abilities:

INHUMAN SPEED
— she has the ability to zip by faster than a normal human.

INHUMAN LEAPING ➤ (HEADCANON)
— she has the ability to jump higher than a normal human/ good at parkouring.

HIGH PAIN TOLERANCE ➤ (HEADCANON)
— can handle strong amounts of pain (unless you shoot or stab her a repeatedly).

HIGH SUBSTANCE TOLERANCE ➤ (HEADCANON)
— whether with alcohol or drugs, it takes a lot for her to get a buzz or high.

HIGH METABLISM ➤ (HEADCANON)
— due to shimmer also being used as fuel, her appetite grew twice as much and needs to eat a large amount to feel normal.

Mental Illness:

SCHIZOPHRENIA
— a serious mental illness that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. People with schizophrenia may seem like they have lost touch with reality, which causes significant distress for the individual, their family members, and friends.

PTSD
— Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. It is natural to feel afraid during and after a traumatic situation. Fear triggers many split-second changes in the body to help defend against danger or to avoid it.

SEPARATION ANXIETY

Background: Elizabeth is an exVelvet Room attendant who left when she decided that her guest got the short end of the stick because humanity woke up the Titan of despair. Now she is out trying to figure out humanity enough to put the stupid thing back to sleep because killing it doesn't quite seem to do it.

Abilities: She can summon the Persona Thanatos. Hypothetically she knows all her Velvet Room stuff too, and spent time as the heal anything point for a RPG party.

Plans: The day I have plans be afraid. Though in going with her roots, I think she'll be a Doctor for the month, and just have Thanatos rip the monster part of the soul out and eat it in the most horrifying manner possible. It feels on point. If anyone wants to do a thing, I'm game. I'd love to do things now that my head isn't full of medications that make me feel like that time Strong Bad drank too much soy sauce and tried to fly a concession stand to the moon.

Revenge never happened because he didn’t think it was worth it, crime gremlin then commits crime with his life partner spirit fox, is defeated by the spirit detective, and unwillingly becomes a member of the team as terms of his prison sentence. He grows to like said team but would literally rather die than admit it.

Plans: OKAY! SO WE COMING IN HOT ON THE MIC RIGHT OFF THE BAT. Given the alternate versions that can manifest during the DATABREACH glitches I am opting to have Ekko take on his True Damage!Ekko version within the League of Legends universe. What does this mean? Well here is a link in regards to True Damage's brief lore along with Ekko's background information. He is the leader of their hip-hop group and the main focus of their first hit song GIANTS. Background: Once upon a time, there was a boy named Tsuna. He was kind of loser, not good at sports or school, and really just kind of cruising through life with no ambition. Then, in a cruel twist of fate, a baby hitman appeared, and told him that he was the heir to the Vongola Mafia family, and it was his job to shape Tsuna up into a good mafia boss. Tsuna's protests fell, and continue to fall, on deaf ears, but considering all the other candidates are dead or just kind of suck, someone's got to do it. At least he got some friends out of the deal.

Tsuna doesn't seem like much at first, but he's a loyal, caring guy who just wants to do the right thing. Push him into a corner and you'll find his backbone. Got a tragic backstory? You're under his sky now. He doesn't ask for chaos but it follows him home anyway.

Abilities:Tsuna's main powers are his Dying Will Flames. When he activated his Hyper Dying Will Mode, he gains a more serious demeanour, and orange flames can be seen on his forehead and hands. The Flames are specifically Sky flames, which can harmonize with other abilities and grant Tsuna the ability to fly, among other things.

Plans:
-So Tsuna got sentenced last month. His sentence was to lead something, be it a group, a club, etc. Tsuna chose going out into the desert to try to find the city of Tresed, or look at the ruins that they visited like a year ago. I will hopefully be getting a mingle log up before the event pops off, as the last few details get put into place. But if you're looking for sandy adventures and monsters and not being in Aldrip for a bit before we're stuck, might be the place to be?

-Glitches wise, Tsuna's probably going to be suffering from a few. So we might get a visit from Ten Years Later!Tsuna, who is actually the boss of the Vongola, and maybe his bad end version, who is dead. He might also just end up with no memories, no memories of being here and set back to square one, or maybe something will glitch and we'll get Dying Will mode Tsuna running around in his boxers. That's always fun.

-For the event, Tsuna will be a Doctor. He's got Orange Flames to burn away Gnosia or anything else. But he'll also probably be a bit freaked out so if anyone wants to defend him, that would be great.

How can you run into my character? Tsuna can usually be found at his house, the arcade, or the club building as hang out spots. Sometimes he ventures further afield but mostly he sticks to those locations.

Background:

Most of Aerith's life has been spent beneath some kind of steel ceiling; from captivity in a laboratory to the oppressive sky of the plate hanging over the Midgar slums, she's never really seen the endless blue sky. You wouldn't guess it after meeting her, though! Aerith is vivacious, spunky, and street-smart, having grown up in the slums. She's a nature-loving free spirit with a rebellious streak that she eagerly indulges in. Her unique experiences have lead her to have strong personal morals that she's unwilling to compromise with, and Aerith always chooses to do right by her and the people she cares about, even at the cost of her own safety. Despite this, she's got a biting sense of humor— she's also not afraid to remind you that she doesn't need to be coddled.

In canon, she makes a living selling flowers she grows herself; some are tended to in a garden at her home, others are from a flowerbed in an abandoned church. Holiness is something of a theme with her, though you may get the impression it's entirely foisted on her. Regardless, Aerith is the party healer who is not afraid to use her magical scepter like a baseball bat. Her close ties to healing, religion, and magic are born from her heritage as the last remaining Cetra in Gaia— she's part magical alien, which makes her of keen interest to a specific power enterprise back home.

Abilities: white mage abilities (she has prayer + healing materia in game), cetra magic, wwe moves.

Plans:

an overarching theme i'd love to explore with aerith in expiation is her relationships and relationship with loneliness. in the original game, she comments more than once that she's completely alone, and is forced to give up on a number of friendships and relationships she's fostered in the interest of protecting the people she loves. obviously in game that's not as much of a problem but it's definitely something she's defined herself by in remake. i'd love to see how far she'll take it when she prospect of final fantasy vii is looming over her in a jamjar lmao. aerith is here for a good time not a long time can you feel it.

so as you can imagine, i'd like to play with the alternate characters part for this month. i am presently toying with the idea of having aerith experience a period of time where she aerith-shifts with help from the glitch event into a post advent children complete canon point. in other words, if you've wanted to talk to aerith about THAT, this would be your chance.

Background: Silco is from the Undercity, which he promotes as the nation of Zaun, and he is a violent crime lord who uses fear, violence, drugs, and money to keep people in line so that he can accomplish his revolutionary dream of freedom for Zaun at any cost. There's a small hiccup when he realizes the one thing he won't give up for his dream and it costs him his life.

Abilities: Nope. Silco is a normal human with normal human abilities. He's very smart, manipulative and has amazing business acumen.

Plans: He's going to own Aldrip. No seriously, he is making long-term moves to buy or be partner in businesses across the city. He figures if he owns the economy, he can start to exert control over you chaos germlins in his own way.

I am considering giving Silco a power, but I haven't decided what. He also has complications in that his entire canon cast (except one) wishes him dead, and he has died very recently and is dealing with the emotional fall out of that.

In the upcoming event, Silco is crew, so he's obligated to do nothing but watch the world fall to rancor. He also has no alternate realities of himself and isn't in any other media settings thus far so he will continue with the status quo.

How can you run into my character? What's their daily life like? Do they have a job? Do they have other habits or routines?

Silco can be found at any one of his businesses (The Last Drop bar, the Seafood Shack, the Sandwich House, the Flower Shop and its associated green houses, and the Forge). Crime: Escaping his home planet, Arsla

Background: Y’all watch Tarzan? Ok, so he’s not Tarzan by any measure, but his parents were researchers who studied hyperintelligent bonobos and made him live amongst them. He loved them to pieces, they were his only real friends and family up until the corporation sponsoring their research came in and murdered them all. Sha-Ming has Trauma TM from the incident and 50% of his personality is the product of untreated PTSD. The other 50% is the fact that he grew up with notoriously horny monkeys. I wish this was a joke.

His personality is bad. He’ll say anything for any reason. He’s a canonically bisexual otherkin fuckboy with no shame or pride. At heart, he’s a genuinely good guy with severe attachment issues however, and I’m on track to getting him to become a zoologist because in canon he goes onto become one known by the entire galaxy. Guess he’s got something in that brain after all.

Abilities: Being really annoying and horny.

Plans: I am mostly focusing on his zoology plot -- fellow scientists, he's a bit of an isolationist but I would love him to Do Science with more characters in game, especially because he approaches it from a very empathetic and compassionate angle. However, he is still a huge freak about it, so yeah.

As for the glitch plot, I'm mostly reserving this for closer CR -- I'm still figuring it out!

Now onto uh, the Gnosia thing. Your boy is going to be Gnosia. He's going to anonymously give exposition the second the event starts because he's canonically merciful as Gnosia and would want to give the humans a decent shot at survival.

Sha-Ming is canonically one of the best Gnosia in game; he is incredibly good at what he does due to his maximized stealth stat and high performance stat. Basically, he's great at lying and flying under the radar, and he's prone to presenting himself as completely useless and pitiable so people don't clock him. This makes him all the more of a threat. He holds no loyalty to fellow Gnosia and will not be opposed to friendly fire or throwing you under the rug.

In the event, his main goal is going to be to try to kill Minato Arisato no matter the cost. That means if you're playing Gnosia and you want to kill good old Minny, he's going to try to kill you, because he wants that kill for himself and doesn't trust anyone else with it. The local clown, Gogol, will also be playing a game of ping pong with him and trying to block his kills as Guardian Angel. Sha-Ming is a gentle and kind killer who does not like brutalizing his victims.

If you are an AC Follower, you're gonna get hit with the horny stick. I'm so sorry.

Right before the end of the event, he will be doing what he does in canon, which is basically killing himself because ultimately, he wants the humans to win. He may go to a Doctor or fellow Gnosia for this.

How can you run into my character? He's usually in the outskirts of the town or in the forest studying the wildlife! But he can be found anywhere "fun" in the city, especially bars, arcades and clubs. He also works at the casino.

at first glance, charles is not unlike an overgrown (and also quite protective) puppy, or maybe a ray of sunshine: constantly smiling, genuinely enthusiastic about everything, cracking jokes to alleviate tension — all in all, the kind of guy who's easygoing and easily liked, and who likes it just like that. behind that, though, he's got a whole slew of issues, ranging from an anger problem to self-esteem issues because of his shitty home background.

oh and he's dead. has been since 1989, and has spent the last thirty-odd years as a ghost detective with his equally dead BFF.

Abilities: as noted, charles is a ghost, and usually not visible to most people — luckily, everyone in aldrip will be able to see him, which is not at all weird for him! aside from that, he can also walk through walls, doesn't eat or sleep, you know, ghost stuff.

Plans:

for overarching plans, i would love for him to actually make friends, not just because he can't do his and edwin's codependency shtick here and will be so lost, but also because, you know, friends are nice and good. it would also be great for him to deal with all his trauma, mostly the deep-seated inadequacy issues that come from, well, coming from a home background such as his. c':

for glitches, we'll see if i invent any AUs for him, but at the very least he will go through the entire range of alive/ghost, meaning he's going to be an alive person for a while, and then go full ghost so no one unless those who are supernaturally inclined (witches, psychics) can see him.

for gnosia, since he's new, he's most likely going to be crew — why, you ask? because his greatest fear is being useless, and he's going to have to watch the entire chaos and not be able to do anything about it. 😇 please, please die somewhere in his vicinity so he can lose his mind about it. or try to kill him, it's okay, he's already a ghost...

GNOSIA PLOT: We rng'd and got Guardian Angel. So if anyone needs their arse saving I guess??? Only once per day mind! The senpai trio have ended up with an awful dynamic between the three of them with this so I'm sure some kind of disaster will come from that.

DATABREACH: Less solid with the details as yet but I am leaning towards making her Shadow Mitsuru ala Persona 4 Arena Ultimax style with the glitches. Basically she's the huge evil diva she tries not to be, who will likely make you feel shit about yourself by telling you all of the things you don't want to hear, regardless of whether they're true or not. Great fodder for some uncomfortable conversations I guess.

A lot of her extended CR circle is kind of surface level and at arm's length right now, which is very much her preference/way of doing things. I, however, really want to use either of these as an opportunity to force her out of her comfort zone and deepen her CR.

How can you run into my character? She co-manages/runs the casino so that's always a sure place to find her. Other than that she pretty much and likes to go anywhere there's tea and books.

Crime: Helplessness, as he believes that changing fate - especially his - is impossible.

Background: Just a totally normal teenager who is appreciate of life and humanity as a whole and loves connecting with others! He's a sweet guy like that. There is something more to him, something that's practically cosmic horror in nature, but he doesn't know anything about that. Yet.

Abilities: He's good at flirting with anybody <3 But he's also kinda the grim reaper. And he has a monster form and stuff. You can read more of it in detail here.

Plans: Ryoji is going to be gnosia for the event, and I want him to kill a lot of people.

In terms of surface personality he's all the same, but the way I'm interpreting his infection is that it taps more into his other nature in canon. He's all too eager to find a way to murder everyone he meets because in his head this is literally what he's created for - to grant death to everyone because this is what humanity has been wishing for. He would try his best to hide himself too, because he would be able to save more people if they don't discover he's gnosia, right? His kills would be quick and efficient though, he would want you to die peacefully as much as possible.

Also while he'll still be in human form throughout the duration of the event, he gets to subconsciously remember a fragment of his power and will be using that against his victims. Simply put, Death by Ryoji equals either darkness/curse abilities or getting skewered via long sword.

For fellow Gnosia + AC Followers: He's a very cooperative team player, so let me know if you wanna team up.

For less evil plots, Ryoji is going to help out on Tsuna's desert expedition! He's also looking into learning how to play the piano, so feel free to help him out in learning music. I'm planning to put up a catch-all this month for more light-hearted threads, so let me know if you want me to ping you for that.

How can you run into my character? Ryoji hangs out on the clubs the most, particularly on TWAT (Scott's Teenagers With Abilities and Talents club) and the Cooking Club. He also just got a job as a waiter in the Seafood Shack. Otherwise he's pretty much around town all over, looking up hobbies to try out and the like.

Background: Morph is a nonbinary (they/them) mutant and member of the X-Men, which makes them a superhero, though one that normally deals with other mutants causing trouble and only the occasional world-ending crisis. Like the one they just dealt with at the end of the series. Morph is a jokester character and a cameo machine, good with sarcastic quips and using their powers for a punchline. The superhero life has given them some trauma thanks to bad run-ins with villains but it's fiiiiine they're totally functional and not about to step in hot water again with this current plot or anything.

Abilities: Morph is a shapeshifter who also copies physical traits and powers from the subject. So if a character is super strong, has wings, etc Morph can make use of those too, and this includes props like clothing and weapons. They can also take the shape of animals, though in all cases Morph will have to have laid eyes on the person/animal in particular at least once in order to take their form. Also they're made of goo.

I threw up a permissions post for long-term impersonations here just in case.

Plans:

• Databreach: No big plans here, Morph might get hit with annoying glitches in threads but nothing too remarkable. I'm fully on board for having them run into people having issues with their own glitching and trying to help in some way.
  
• Gnosia Infection: RNG has spoken and Morph will be going Gnosia! This is uhhh bad news since they're both a shapeshifter and not terribly easy to kill with physical damage alone. Morph is going to be sneaky but vicious, gladly taking any forms they need to in order to lure in a victim before killing them. They won't be terribly interested in torture or lingering over their kills, but given their previous canon experience they're going to be gunning for Scott and Rogue in particular, sorry not sorry. 😅

How can you run into my character? Since Morph is pretty new they're going to be wandering around the city a lot! This will also include some scouting from the air so that's a good option if you want to run into them in another form. Morph is going to eventually need a job but with what's going on this month idk how soon that'll happen.

Crime: Eco-terrorism

Background: Tifa grew up in a small mountain town, Nibelheim, that was destroyed in her teens by the famous super soldier, Sephiroth. She lost everyone, including her father, and barely escaped the incident with her life. Wanting vengeance on Sephiroth and the corporation that "created" him, Tifa joins AVALANCHE, an eco-terrorist group that wants to destroy Shinra for the harm they are causing the planet. But she quickly learns that her anger is not enough to sustain her hatred in the face of continued tragedy as innocent people are continuously put in harms way.

She is ultimately a caring and compassionate person, always looking after others and trying to build community with those around her. She's very much the mom friend in the group, attuned to the feelings of those around her and reaching out to make sure everyone is okay. But she is very bad at doing the same for herself and tends to withhold her own feelings and conflict.

Abilities:
• Martial Arts: Tifa is a practitioner of Zangan-style martial arts, which places an emphasis on strength and speed. She utilizes various combos of kicks and punches to take down her foe. Her strength rivals a lot of men, but it is only with materia that she is able to go beyond the limits of human strength.
• Materia: Most people in her universe have the ability to use materia, which are crystal-like orbs made up of mako energy, an energy that comes directly from the planet. These orbs allow the user to perform magic spells, summon helpful spirits to assist them in battle, and enhance their physical abilities such as their strength, speed, and endurance. Tifa’s gloves have two built in slots for materia, limiting the amount she can use at a time.
• Bar Owner: Before going on the run, Tifa owned a bar named Seventh Heaven. Her duties there have made her a skilled bartender, competent cook, and a savvy financial planner. She managed to save up the funds to buy the bar while juggling a massive debt and assisted Barret in financing their cell of Avalanche.

Plans: She's brand new and I don't have any solid plans aside from her settling in and exploring the city more. I'm open to continuing/wrapping up her threads from the TDM.

• Glitches: So I'm thinking about having her randomly swap into her Advent Children self. She's not wildly different personality wise, just older and a little wiser and having built a content life for herself post game events. Her slight appearance changes can make for fun confusion for people.

• Gnosia Infection: I'm thinking Tifa will play the Guardian Angel role. It's very on brand for her to be out there trying to save as many people as she can. I'm open to building CR through her saving someone, getting someone to help, or even fighting each other (Gnosia infected peeps stand up).

Background: Slightly more emotionally stable Scott Summers because he didn't have a crappy childhood. A little more of a shit and rebel, but ultimately, a good kid that wants to do the right thing. Working on repressing his anger. Currently feeling good about his powers, wants to be a better leader, and feeling just a little less anxious about people knowing other versions of him. Although, that might change with recent glitch stuff happening. Oh right, he's a mutant and future X-Man.

Abilities: Uncontrollable optic blasts, pew pew. Strong enough to tear through buildings and large trees. Doesn't have his visor here, so it's shades only. Full power or nothing.

Plans: I'm always here for more CR! Teens (especially if they have powers), adults willing to put up with him (mentor him) or bully him. Plans this month though:

Alternative self: Scott is going to be glitching a whole bunch during this month! So, want to interact with X-Men 97, Evolution, comics, James Marsden, etc-- I plan on doing something with them! Scott is not going to have a weird identity crisis at all later, it's fine. If there's a Scott you want to interact with in particular, let me know!

Gnosia: Scott is going to be a doctor, so healing the infected, yay!! Not sure how he's going to heal, maybe shooting from his chest so something like Alex Summers, or some good ol' traditional punch the infection out. How can you run into my character? Scott can be seen around Aldrip often, either visiting places like the arcade or theater, getting food from somewhere. Background: Jim's had a hard road, but ultimately, he's righted the wrongs of his universe insofar as he's able. Born in the middle of the destruction of the USS Kelvin, a tragedy which claimed his father's life, Jim's been fighting to survive all his life. His path, though drastically altered from his TOS counterpart, led him to the same place - the youngest Captain in Starfleet, commanding the USS Enterprise on her five-year mission to explore deep space.

Abilities: If Jim had DnD stats, he'd be near max on intelligence and charisma. He completed a six-year, intensive Command track program at Starfleet in three years, mastering the skills necessary for his captaincy. He's proficient in hacking and programming, and has been certified as a pilot and marksman, per Starfleet regulations. Outside of his above-average (for a human) intelligence, Jim doesn't have any extra abilities - unless you consider luck, as some would ascribe his solutions.

I've got three options for Jim's glitching that sound fun, so take your pick! Will probably put up a log (?) to catch-all, not sure yet. Let me know what sounds fun!

Jim will glitch into his 15-year-old self, freshly feral from years of mistreatment and the Horrors. Beware, he does bite.

His second alter-ego will be the Dread Pirate Kirk; swashbuckling, scruffy, debonair career pirate sailing the seas on the Enterprise. Anybody up for a sword fight?

Last but not least, a bit of an appearance switcharoo, because you know I had to do it to 'em: 63!Jim. He'll still have his memories with this one, he'll just be Differently Gender-Shaped.

GNOSIA PLAYER PLOT:
This is gonna be so fun. Jim and Spock will both be signing up to be infected, and coming at it as a murder squad.

They'll set up traps to capture people; the part of them that's still holding on will be focused on capturing people and keeping them in the dark web warehouse. This abates the need to kill them as they're channeling their energy into capturing them, though that doesn't mean they will be unharmed.

If you'd like to be unsuspectingly lured into a trap, try a rescue attempt on those stuck in the warehouse, help with the dastardly operation, or perhaps be faked out on a rescue attempt - down for any and all of the above.

How can you run into my character? During a normal day, Jim spends a lot of time out and about, exploring nooks and crannies of Aldrip; enjoying the physical books available (a luxury, in his time) at the library, hanging out at the STEM building or bothering Claude at the apothacary. He can also easily be found at the local bar or down by the docks on a walk near the house; and generally, most places Spock goes, he'll be around.

The spark notes: man who larps/is a insane killer clown to contradict humanity's innate ability to feel sympathy, kindness, and guilt all to take a crack at proving humanity has the potential to exert freewill.

Abilities: The Overcoat. I've got the opt-in here for the more intense level of usage because he really is out there doing harrowing stuff with it.

Plans: I don't have solid plans beyond signing him up with the Guardian Angel role in the player plot. I can tell you now he's really not going to act like it. I plan for it to be hard to clock him as that for a bit since it's a game of deception and he's a pretty self-motivated guy so he'll be using that ability according to his own judgment. I've got plans for him to go cuck Sha-Ming out of some of his Gnosia kills because we do indeed live in a circus but beyond that so far it's free real estate.

Nikolai's a villain in canon and he remains so here. I'm really really interested in exploring the dynamic of someone else on the crew side (crew, doctor, other GAs, etc.) secretly revealing roles one on one to team up. Maybe they feel weird about it. Maybe they heard about what he did with those organs, perhaps. Bigger fish to fry right now though!

How can you run into my character? Sometimes Nikolai feeds the pigeons in the park. He shows up at Lupin sometimes too! Otherwise, have you seen him? He's visibly easy to spot unless he doesn't want to be seen.
