INTRO MEME

Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

JULY EVENT SUMMARY

DATABREACH

The system has always been unstable, but in early July, that instability reaches a tipping point. Glitches, which have long since been part of the world of Expiation, become more severe and more difficult to ignore, affecting player characters in addition to the setting itself. These glitches can manifest in many ways, including the following ideas:

- Your character may, for small periods of time (ie several hours, probably up to a day or so), be glitched into an “alternate” version of themselves. These can be canon alternates (ie a bad ending, alternate timeline, mirrorverse, etc version of them) or can be any sort of AU made up by you. We encourage you to get creative with this!

- Your character may be affected for short periods of time by previous in-game events. See the EVENTS tag in the log community for ideas.

- Your character may be subject to the more “typical” glitch effects that the setting of Expiation has experienced in the past. Disappearing and reappearing, losing parts of themselves (was their hair always so pale? Or maybe their arm has gone missing? etc!)

They may also lose memories, items, powers, or abilities for various lengths of time.

These are just suggestions! If you have other ideas for how these “glitches” could manifest for your character, we encourage you to run wild with them.

GNOSIA INFECTION PLAYER PLOT

During the third week of July, the instability in the system becomes catastrophic, resulting in a cascading series of failures that ultimately releases a Gnosia infection that can affect any number of characters. This event will be opt-in. You can find further information on the Gnosia infection plot here!

The Gnosia infection will last for one week, but the glitches will continue for the foreseeable future.

This…is fine? Hmm. Maybe not so much. Maybe this is not actually fine.

Anything Else?: I'm in PST, and I work a lot. I don't tend to be able to tag during the day as I don't have access thanks to my workplace.

Character: Silco
Canon: Arcane (League of Legends animated)
Canon Point: End of Episode 9: The tragic end of a glorious tea party

Crime: Racketeering (He's leaning hard into this to go for full RICO)

Background: Silco is from the Undercity, which he promotes as the nation of Zaun, and he is a violent crime lord who uses fear, violence, drugs, and money to keep people in line so that he can accomplish his revolutionary dream of freedom for Zaun at any cost. There's a small hiccup when he realizes the one thing he won't give up for his dream and it costs him his life.

Abilities: Nope. Silco is a normal human with normal human abilities. He's very smart, manipulative and has amazing business acumen.

Plans: He's going to own Aldrip. No seriously, he is making long-term moves to buy or be partner in businesses across the city. He figures if he owns the economy, he can start to exert control over you chaos germlins in his own way.

I am considering giving Silco a power, but I haven't decided what. He also has complications in that his entire canon cast (except one) wishes him dead, and he has died very recently and is dealing with the emotional fall out of that.

In the upcoming event, Silco is crew, so he's obligated to do nothing but watch the world fall to rancor. He also has no alternate realities of himself and isn't in any other media settings thus far so he will continue with the status quo.

How can you run into my character? What's their daily life like? Do they have a job? Do they have other habits or routines?

Silco can be found at any one of his businesses (The Last Drop bar, the Seafood Shack, the Sandwich House, the Flower Shop and its associated green houses, and the Forge). He also can be found around town and spends some of his time in the caves. He also is always hiring for his businesses, so please come and work for crime daddy.

Yes, we need to have them meet up!!! Silco's probably having a quiet month recovering from the murder and avoiding being murdered again by the gnosia.

I would be down for him either faking out gnosia-Vash or experience Vash glitching out?

honestly silco running into gnosia vash but no murder (because vash aint down for that) sounds fun too, if silco wants to finally see some inhuman vash things.

BUT I ALSO WANT LITTLE VASH WITH SILCO THAT WOULD BE FUN TOO

Oh man, Vash being gno and still having to navigate no murder. I need to see this in action against someone who might subtly encourage murder XD All the inhuman Vash things so Silco can contemplate what Nai told him and seeing it in Vash.

LOL of course he is. Even when he's a werewolf thingy, he's still protecting humans. Vash, never change XD

LOL I love smols. Silco is a bit too good with children, so he would love this. I don't have a lot going on with him event wise, so wherever is best to fit into your timeline of events.

Since Ryoji works for Saralegui Silco is also his boss, right? They should meet sometime. Ryoji would give him a headache

I also have Yuri (from Tales of Vesperia) who has a similar background and dream of uplifting the less privileged part of the city they lived in. The difference though is that Yuri's childhood friend did not betray him despite the different paths they took and also Yuri is a JRPG protagonist and ultimately a good person. He can be a future thorn in Silco's side if he ever gets wind of what he's planning for Aldrip

Wait, why does Ryoji work for a king without a crown?

I am all for giving Silco headaches. He deserves every single one of them. As for Yuri, Silco travels through a lot of future thorny bushes; it's amazing he's gotten this far honestly.

He's not picky with whom he works for! Whether kisses are involved in the future is not a factor at all.

Yuri is like an expert in throwing wrenches at carefully-made plans so they would definitely clash in the future!

Orly? Well, may all the kisses come you and may you avoid the eyeball hypno as much as possible... or maybe it would be funny.

LOL they probably would. Silco is currently playing the long game and so far no one has made a move to actually try to hinder him.

I need to figure out if the grim reaper is immune to eyeball hypno or not but I always like the funniest choices.

Yuri would definitely have to catch wind of it first, but he's pretty sharp. We'll see how it plays out!

I always love it when powers from different series clash and one had to determine if an effect in one will work on the dynamics of a character.

so Kurama is going to be sticking his nose in everything plant related and I'd really like him to get a related job. He might be interested in the green house stuff as he gets settled in a bit.

OH yes I would love that. Silco is always hiring, and someone to help with the greenhouse with be welcomed. He does need more demons in his life :)

Always room for more demons, especially one that can improve your bottom line with very little effort, right?

There's always a benefit when it comes to his bottom line. His last plant tender left, so he's eager for another who actually knows what plants need. XD

All they need is a little demon energy, it's fine, he's got this. It'll save so much money.
