INTRO MEME

Welcome to Expiation and come on down! We're thrilled to have you here! This intro entry serves additionally as a CR meme, so you are free to use it to say hello, tell us a bit about yourself, talk about your character, and potential plans for the game.

JULY EVENT SUMMARY

DATABREACH

The system has always been unstable, but in early July, that instability reaches a tipping point. Glitches, which have long since been part of the world of Expiation, become more severe and more difficult to ignore, affecting player characters in addition to the setting itself. These glitches can manifest in many ways, including the following ideas:

- Your character may, for small periods of time (ie several hours, probably up to a day or so), be glitched into an “alternate” version of themselves. These can be canon alternates (ie a bad ending, alternate timeline, mirrorverse, etc version of them) or can be any sort of AU made up by you. We encourage you to get creative with this!

- Your character may be affected for short periods of time by previous in-game events. See the EVENTS tag in the log community for ideas.

- Your character may be subject to the more “typical” glitch effects that the setting of Expiation has experienced in the past. Disappearing and reappearing, losing parts of themselves (was their hair always so pale? Or maybe their arm has gone missing? etc!)

They may also lose memories, items, powers, or abilities for various lengths of time.

These are just suggestions! If you have other ideas for how these “glitches” could manifest for your character, we encourage you to run wild with them.

GNOSIA INFECTION PLAYER PLOT

During the third week of July, the instability in the system becomes catastrophic, resulting in a cascading series of failures that ultimately releases a Gnosia infection that can affect any number of characters. This event will be opt-in. You can find further information on the Gnosia infection plot here!

The Gnosia infection will last for one week, but the glitches will continue for the foreseeable future.

Anything Else?: i am caught up in the currents of life .... jk (or is it) i just recently had a lot of life changes and rl drama so am looking to live my life quietly!!!! im into a lot of random animanga / movies / etc and i have two awful cat boys who monopolise all my time and like 50 houseplants who take up the rest

Character: vash the stampede

Crime: disturbing the peace

Background: vash is a goody two shoes golden retriever idiot at first (and up to 100th) sight. he loves: pizza, love, peace, friendship and hates: murder, wanton violence, himself. he comes from a time of Human Space Expansion but things went belly up (more on that later) and landed a bunch of them in a desert planet full of worms (bugs) of various sizes and not much more besides. think space western to the max including all the unwashed body odour.

Abilities: vash is good at sharpshooting, other basic survival skills in the wilds of the desert, attracting trouble and bullets, dodging them matrix style, and looking as pathetic as he can while doing it with maximum snot and tears. he also isn't at all human but who can guess by looking at him???

Plans: i am looking for ALL AND EVERY CR always! my rl is a lot so im trying to be more mindful of it + my tagging pace!

glitching party??:
because the gnosia event will be pretty dark and awful, i want to keep this lighthearted!

➤a few ideas i have are vash glitching into being armless? glowing funky?? or maybe if you want to run into him as a kid? who wouldn't want to bully this bowlcut child. cw: eating disorders, lack of id, intense survivor's guilt, etc etc ....

➤if you do want it a bit dark though, i also thought about having his appearance colour/swapped into his twin brother, aka pale hair/skin/eyelashes, mole on the wrong side of his eye, etc. this will probably be fun for people who had cr with knives but waves hands it will fuck vash up bad.

gnosia event tho:
he is going to be infected and become gnosia, which, you know, as a peace and love loving, anti-murder guy, is going to be really fun. I HAVE LOTS OF IDEAS FOR THIS!!!

➤ vash will try his hardest to not harm the crew/humans/the "innocent" people - thanks suze for the idea, vash will instead hunt the other gnosia for the event and prevent them from killing others. if this sounds like your jam and you are AC FOLLOWER / GNOSIA who want to get sucked into this and either help vash or stop him from unaliving???? your precious gnosia/yourself, please hit me up!

➤ the worst part of vash is that he is protective - without differentiation or bias. everyone is equal in his eyes, no special treatment! if he thinks you are "good" or "innocent" (and that is a very subjective view) he will protect you from everything, even from yourself if need be. if you are taking advantage of the general chaos to do some fun murdering, you could play a double game and fool vash into thinking you're a good guy? it might backfire though, that would also be fun!

➤ while he might seem pretty normal ... his gnosia special form is going to be just a little bit hectic ... i definitely want to do something with his prehensile roots / bleed of organic and mechanic imagery so please PLEASE come at me and we can hash out a thing!!! i would love to do something like restraining/wrapping people up in roots or more body horror-y tentacle-y stuff (nsfw in a gore/guro way, if you're into that prayer emoji)

➤ i would also love for him to run into doctors / guardian angels / general crew people! as vash will try his hardest to not target the "Good" guys, he could bring an infected gnosia to a doctor to cure them!

➤ i am also looking for some delicious conflict of vash trying to help but being mistaken for the bad guy (because he is, ngl) or making a situation worse by butting in, so if you have any plots brewing that needs messing up / escalation from bad to worse, hit me up! this also goes for the gnosia and their simps - if you want your nefarious schemes foiled or made worse, vash is your plant to go to.

➤ honestly the actual murderin part i haven't thought of too much .... but if you have any fun ideas (because vash is going to be guilt-ridden as HELL) i am all ears!

➤ i also do not mind him being cured/etc, it probably won't change things in terms of him throwing his life in front of other gnosia trying to kill people, so smh

July 21 is vash's birthday (lmao) but since it will be during all the general chaos and k wording, maybe he could have a belated one???? i don't know please give him a cake or something he needs it

How can you run into my character? vash is kind of everywhere - he does a bunch of odd jobs for people (including florists, etc) and if he sees anything, he will jump in and bother people so it's honestly pretty easy! let me know what kind of things your character gets up to and we can hash something out :)
