good old fashioned monster hunting
Heyo, Expi! Merry Christmas/happy holidays! I am here today to pitch another player plot situation, this time courtesy of me and Jenni (
traumaticus) AKA Miller & Richard. The gist is that Miller discovered there are mutants from his world afoot during the Dark Hour event (read: Expi fauna entry) and, frankly, that shit sucks!
While these may seem like your rather run of the mill monsters to your average JRPG character, as someone well-acquainted with them, Miller sees it a little differently. Why? Because they're hazardous to humans through radioactive emissions and they multiply. Fast. There is also one form of mutant that is present that is particularly worrying and that's the Demon. These guys are tough. They only live on the irradiated surface of the earth and no one is sure what they used to be. Bats? Some kind of feline? Who can say. What we do know though is that they're incredibly strong, hard to kill, and are basically the apex predator of the nuclear fallout.
So, Miller wants them gone from Aldrip. All of them. Which is why he'll be looking to form a scouting and hunting group of all the best Expi has to offer. Not so enthused? Not to worry — he'll also be offering a small cash prize to anyone who fits the bill and is willing to take on the call. This is also where Richard comes in. Utilizing his defense patrol for this is going to be a given, so if your character's already involved in that or wants to be, then even better.
But the fun is not limited to characters who can fight! I didn't mention yet that these monsters are known to scoop up humans and fly them away to their nests. If they don't kill you immediately, they're probably saving you to eat later. So, having your character be swept up and need rescuing is also very much a thing.
And if you're a lone wolf or want to form your own squad? No one is stopping you. Don't let your dreams be dreams.
tl;dr Want to fight some scary mutants and/or join Aldrip defense squad? Or just be kidnapped by demons? Put your name below!
We'll be putting up a log on 12/28, but as always, backtagging will be highly encouraged! ♥ If you are interested in participating in any way, feel free to fill out this plotting form and chat below. c: Not required for participation though. You can also just tag in and see where the wind takes you. (Also p.s. you can still comment here after the 28th, we are being loosey goosey with this thing.)

Abilities/skills: Transforming superhero! She'll be doing heavy hitting. And posing. And possibly posing so much things explode. She's got magic, ninja moves, and samurai swordsmanship.
Plans: So Fauna will likely be working alongside the main defense squad, but not necessarily as part of them. She's the type to run off to do her own fighting. But if anyone is in danger, she'll be showing up to protect them! She'll prioritize that, and start blasting monsters until they explode otherwise.
That said, it's also possible she could be pushed too far and go into her Berserk Mode, if anyone would find that interesting to play off of!

Abilities/skills: Mostly guns. Some other combat. Military training.
Drugs that make him more agro and stronger. Some magic he doesnt like/usually forgets to usePlans: Levi is there do join the main squad and do whatever Miller tells him to do. He also has his own leadership experience, so if ordered to handle a smaller group he'd be able to do that. And possibly angst about it later if anything goes wrong

Abilities/skills: He's just a guy
Plans: Ok, because he is just a guy and Richard knows this he won't be going to the front lines this time. He would prefer to stay as strategist and provide back up while Miller leads the initial charge. He will be, however, open to help people in the second wave or whenever they rush to help the kidnapped.

Abilities/skills: He's an immortal sorcerer who can fly, teleport and do science. However...
Plans: ...Fandaniel likes to pretend he has no powers. Also, due to ignoring his sentencing, he's almost completely blind at the moment. He can see movement and light and some things are discernable up close, but that's it. So he'll probably get Ascian-napped. Will he milk his predicament for as much drama as possible to waste the time of everyone involved? ....Yes.

Abilities/skills: Douman comes with a fun mix of being a legendary evil Onmyoji and the most annoying to deal with type of youkai. As such he has:
entyo. >_>;Plans: Sorry guys, he's just here for the money. And maybe to liven out his sadistic vein and kick the one or the other ally to the monsters. But mostly he'll behave, he promises.

Abilities/skills: Jedi stuff (lightsaber, the Force powers, some of them are kind of scary)
Plans: Visas is pretty good at hitting dangerous things with her lightsaber, and while she still doesn't know what she wants to do with her life exactly, Protecting People from bad things is a pretty tangible goal. So she will be helping to just straight-up kill these things.

Abilities/skills: Nothing supernatural, but she has plenty of fighting experience!
Plans: HUNT HUNT HUNT HUNT HUNT
Shaw prefers hunting/fighting humans than animals, but you know what, she's going to take what she can get. She'll be fine with either flying solo or joining up with a group.
