Welcome to Expiation's CR meme! This is a post where players can plot with each other on the direction they'd like to go for the month, and so on and so forth. There's a form below for you to fill out below, so get plotting!

We're now inclding an EMP element since it's an app month! We have an APP THIS PLEASE and ENABLE ME PLEASE in the comments below with a form, so if you're interested in participating, use the form and comment under the subject title applicable. Other than that, the regular comments will go as a normal CR meme would! Also, the TDM will be posted in the log comm with old and new characters alike able to top-level on it.

OCTOBER TDM

TEST DRIVE/MINGLE: SPOOKY SEASON ACTIVITIES

The locals don't consciously seem to know that anything was glitching, and they'll give strange looks when you mention anything about a "reset"...but it's almost like they're celebrating things going back to normal. Near the end of the month, a carnival comes to town! This will serve as our October TDM, and while most of the rides and games will be standard fare for carnivals, there will be some small, opt-in elements that deal with the crimes that characters have been charged with.

Aldrip's traditional witch hunt will be the other big draw this month. The witch hunt is more symbolic than literal, but this year, it'll be done like a game of tag. Some Chosen will be picked to be witches, and other characters will have to capture them. Whoever has captured a witch by the end of the event will receive a prize: one regained small item from home! Successful captures will be chosen via RNG; we'll have a sign-up in the TDM post.

About: 10H is an android who was responsible for maintaining a massive data server located on the moon that held basically all of humanity's remaining data after Things Went Bad. Just before coming here she was actually in the server after her physical body got fried, trying to clean up the corruptions and virus infection. She's going to be very proud of the Expi crew for cleaning up their own server issues!! You guys did really good with that reset

10H is serious about her duty and cares about people, but can be kind of lazy and immature when things aren't dire. She has a deep-seated fear of being alone after the whole isolated on the moon thing.

Background: Junpei is a funky little millennial who used to be able to time travel but can't anymore in Aldrip, a thing that confuses and horrifies him but is also not so bad actually. He has a boatload of unresolved trauma from being kidnapped into Saw traps (twice) and experiencing his own death like 30 times, because of the time travel. But mostly he is a weird little guy who collects sneakers and tries SO HARD!!! to be edgy but can't keep it up for that long. He's a Video Game Protagonist (tm) who really doesn't want to be one, actually, now that he's had a shot at it. Every universe wants to punch him more every day. He has a dog now.

Abilities: Just one, the time travel/timeline shifting, but it's turned completely off for obvious reasons... he thinks about this more than he should, so if Parallel Worlds are a thing you want to talk about, please indulge him.

Plans: My number one goal is to deepen CR!! Including getting new CR!!!! Now that some Results have happened, Junpei's decision paralysis about doing stuff is gone... for now... He's ready to get back to normal life activities, with a side of actual investigating, now that they seem to have bought time and not blown up the world.

How can you run into my character? Still works for Silco in the sandwich shop, catch him there during boring 9-5 hours. He moved out of the inn but he still takes his little dog on walks all around town, so he can be found wherever. He doesn't really have, like... hobbies... he needs a hobby please help him

Crime: Despair

Background: Flamboyant mad scientist turned immortal sorcerer.

Fandaniel once lived as the lead researcher and greatest scientific mind of a technologically advanced society. After making some mad-made horrors beyond imagination he was approached by an immortal called Emet-Selch and inducted into a group of celestial bureaucrats called the Convocation of Fourteen. He now exists as a shadow being with no form of his own. So he's vibing in the corpse of a dead samurai these days.

Outwardly, he is whimsical, theatrical, and playful. He smiles often, dances as he moves, and never seems to take anything seriously. Beneath this, however, he is dangerously curious and sadistic. He will torture people just to see what happens. Beneath the sadism is despair. Lots of despair. Fandaniel's main goal at this point is to die and stay dead and take every other living thing with him. He feels life always ends in death and is full of suffering so why live at all?

TL;DR VERSION: Flamboyant energy being. Acts like a clown but is actually very depressed. Mad sadist who delights in torment. Hates you, hates himself, hates the world. Really wants to die. Also part-time comic relief despite all this.

Abilities: As an Ascian, Fandaniel can do the following:

• Conjure shadow chains and bind people with them


• Possess dead bodies (but he has to return to his current vessel after a time)


• Chuck spells around like a wizard


• View the memories of others by observing the person while they are remembering something


• Fly


• Create objects with his own aether which he usually uses to create clothes and disguises


• Teleport

Also, he has no shadow. Weird, right? Probably nothing to worry about.

It's worth noting he rarely uses his more combat-focused abilities. He doesn't like fighting unless he's very sure he can win.

His greatest "ability" is his intelligence. He's an obnoxious turbo-genius.

Plans: After the reset Fandaniel will be doing more experiments to see what has changed. Many of these experiments will be just awful. Other than this, he'll be exploring the town. Have a science nerd? He could be a nerd with them.

CR I CAN OFFER!

• MAD SCIENCE BRO! Do you play a scientist or someone who is too curious to let morals get in their way? Fandaniel wants to team up to study the glitches (or current lack thereof).


• Villain CR! Want a villain to torment your hero? I've got the man for you. He is very cruel and manipulative.


• Weird friendship. Fandaniel may be a mad sadist but he is also very old, patient, and nonjudgmental (it is impossible for him to unilaterally hate all living things more than he already does). He could be an uneasy ally for certain character types.


• Echo bullshit. With the Echo, Fandaniel can experience your character's memories as if he lived them himself. He can only experience the memory they are actively remembering. .


• TECHNOLOGY! Fandaniel can do not-so-mad science to work with people on technological upgrades to devices, weapons, etc as long as he has the resources. The levels of tech he worked on when he was a mortal (elf) were insane.


• Fandaniel enjoys finding sponsors for his projects. He will act servile toward these people and do things for them in exchange for funding and resources. He thinks of these people as his patrons.

Fandaniel is also a very complex person. He will usually present himself as a flamboyant, whimsical eccentric. Past that one can get the sense of his cold cruelty. Past that is his despair which can honestly be depressing to be around. And there is more. But expect that "getting to know" him will take multiple interactions.

How can you run into my character? He has his own laboratory, the Aetherochemical Research Facility, on the outskirts of town. It's not very big (yet) but still has plenty of resources. People are welcome to visit. When he's not there he's wandering around town and people watching.

IMPORTANT NOTE Fandaniel is usually a playful, whimsical eccentric and as much comedy relief as villain but this character can get very intense. Themes around him include suicide, despair, existential horror and hopelessness, nihilism and extreme self-loathing. You can read more about this on his OPT OUT. Please do not hesitate to opt out of interactions if you want to. I understand some of this character's themes are more heavy than people might want to deal with in RP.

Abilities: Hacking, guns, identity theft, idk a lot of stuff that isn't super relevant in Expi :( no special abilities at the moment!

Plans: Things Root is going to be doing include: being unreasonably protective of all the AI backups (including Quentin and a Spider-Man suit), learning alchemy from Octavian, and probably having a minor breakdown at having no immediate mission but still being stuck here. Oh, and she'll participate in the witch hunt for sure. I would love to deepen the CR she started forming the event and as always make new friends/enemies/frenemies! She's going to be super messy this month! Please sign up for the mess here on an opt-in basis.

How can you run into my character? She's hacking everything under the sun on the network and reading things so anything you're okay with her finding out on the network, she could! She also invited herself into STEM club. Otherwise it's probably easiest to figure this out on a case by case basis. Root does not really have a routine and she probably mostly blends into the background on a daily basis. Alternatively: your character is a witch and you're cool with Root trying to kidnap them (success or fail).

Crime: Attempted Destruction of Human Society

Background: Fauna's got a whole pile of CWs in her backstory, but for the most part, she used to be a villain trying to destroy the world! So she could help make a new, better world. This went poorly. Now she's a hero trying to deal with the fact that she's got a strong sense of justice and wants to fix the world, but also she still doesn't really like the world.

Abilities: She can transform into a Kamen Rider and do all sorts of crazy magic, ninja stuff, and samurai stuff. Really good at fighting. Pretty much garbage at anything that isn't fighting.

Plans: Now that she's tanked everyone's impressions of her, she got into a big fight with other superheroes, and all her other problems, she's feeling kind of bad! I'm hoping to mostly just expand her CR, hopefully see if some people can get past her aggro exterior. I want her to make friends! Or enemies. Both are good.

My biggest dream right now is for her to come to trust someone enough to ask for help with her abysmal social skills, tbh.

Mostly my concrete plans are for her to just go around and mooch food wherever she can, though.

How can you run into my character? She's still roughing it, refusing to take up a proper residence anywhere entirely out of spite and paranoia. So she can generally be found just about anywhere outdoors at this point, but this won't be viable as things get colder, so breaking into homes is going to be more common going forward. Also, she's easily lured if she smells food, so if there's a public food event, she'll almost certainly be there.

Crime: Tax Evasion
Background: Yuri's an orphan born and raised in the Lower Quarter, aka the poor side of the city. Despite the lack of parents the community has been good to him which is why he, alongside his childhood friend Flynn, signed up for the knights in order to serve the populace.

Unfortunately the Empire they lived in is very corrupt, and Yuri became disillusioned the moment he realizes that the law they were supposed to uphold isn't being used to protect people. Eventually he left the knights and decided to help others with his own rules and his own justice.

Abilities: He's basically your standard sword-wielding (and sometimes axe-wielding) JRPG protagonist. Yuri does know some basic spells, particularly healing, but he doesn't have the patience for anything else.

Plans: After his first few months being a bit of a wild ride, the lack of glitches and stuff has admittedly made him a bit wary. He's not jumping at shadows just yet, but he is pretty cautious.

I also need more CR for him, so if you are in need of a spar mate or a chill but snarky guy to hang out with, Yuri is open for a lot of those!

How can you run into my character? Wandering aside, he's doing a bit of information gathering in public spaces - so you'd spot him in bars, parks, arcades, etc. Yuri also has Chronic Hero Syndrome, so a good way of meeting him is to be someone who is in need of help.

Crime: Ignorance

Background: Local amnesiac clockhead with self-esteem issues is forced to join a company, take a management position, ride in a bus full of losers (that eats people) and be the local MacGuffin radar and therapist/life coach/rewind-based white mage for said Loser Bus. Is doing their best.

Also they come from a cyberpunk-ish dystopia with a giant city divided into 26 districts each controlled by a different corporation. Eldritch abominations and creatures based or heavily influenced by the human unconscious may be involved. It gets very dark, so you may want to check out the content warnings and opt in/out post I have on Dante's journal.

Abilities: Dante has a few!:

• "Turning the Clock" to reverse all damage to another person, including death. (Only applicable to the 12 Sinners of Limbus Company, warranty invalid when faced with fates worse than death). Dante feels all pain associated with the death and injury during the rewind.


• Can slow time by half in a bubble around them, leaving only Dante and the Sinners who aren't here un-slowed. For RP purposes, the bubble is about as big as a 2-story house, focused around Dante, and lasts for a max of 15 mins.


• Their head contains a fragment of an object known as the Golden Bough. This object has a variety of uses, but most important for plotting we have the ability to sense certain types of powers (see opt-in/opt-out here) AND the ability to enter the "Fathoms of Ego," a dungeon of sorts that typically appears when people are on the precipice of a breakdown or mulling over and over on defining (often traumatic) moments of a person's life. People other than Dante can enter, ESPECIALLY the owner of the memories, and these memories are displayed to everyone there. Dante has no active control over this ability.


Plans: One: Please let me know if you ever want to make use of the Golden Bough! I'm happy to answer questions and roll with it.

Two: My main goal is to get Dante more settled and get them a new job! They're going to be doing their best to put together some sort of service where they can retrieve things for people for pay and/or put together a job placement agency? They've never had to search for a job before so they're flying by the seat of their pants here.

How can you run into my character? Same as last time but more focused and considerably safer considering the lack of glitches.

Crime: Vanadlisim.

Background: Very cheerful girl who was raised in a dojo and spent her whole life doing martial arts. Her dad shipped her out to 'learn about the world' so she could get better at punching people. Sora had just started branching out into other sports when she was brought her.

Oh, and she joined a group that fights monsters and learnt said monsters have been there all along.

Plans:
-Sora got affected by the corruption and will still be affected for a week. So she might lash out and go on little rampages at times. She'll feel very guilty about it later.

- Being ??? about the locals.

-Witch hunt! I'm not sure witch side I want her on, she's a good runner either way.

-BACKTAGS, I forgot about the silly glitches last month. So I want to backtag something dumb, like noclipping through the floor. Or some good old ragdolling.

How can you run into my character?
Exercising - Sora can be found going for jogs in the morning. Other times she might be seen doing martial arts practise in the park or at the clubhouse. She's always looking for people to practise against.
Inn - She lives here. She's a tidy person who can cook so she's probably decent to live with. Though you have to put up with her being very chipper, even at 5am if she sees you.
Work - She has a job now! Though it's only a little part time thing, it's as a waitress at a cutesy cafe that does tea and cakes. (NPCplace)

Crime: failure to save her people from genocide.

Background:

omg why ask me about her background? it's too long. uh. so rogue was born in mississippi and she was dating a boy and when she kissed him, he fell into a coma. her father discovered she was a mutant, disowned her, and then she ran away from home after that. she comes across a woman named mystique, who pretended to love her and care for her when really, all she cared about was rogue's power. so she tricked rogue into joining the forces of eeeevviiilllllll....!!!

some other stuff happened and eventually rogue ran away from her adopted mother and the evil group then came across charles xavier who took her in. the team definitely didn't trust her at first because she was all evil and what not, but after a few years, she gain their trust and she became a part of the x-men family. the end. sorta.

Abilities:

⨂ POWER DRAIN — Rogue's mutant ability often requires skin-to-skin contact to absorb memories, powers, personality traits, physical talents, and strength. For most of her heroic career, Rogue is unable to control her power, and anyone she touches will almost immediately fall unconscious.

⨂ FLIGHT — Besides Storm and Jean Grey, she is another mutant in the X-Men who has the ability of flight. It is said she is one of the most top ten fastest X-Men in the series as a whole, by having supersonic speed and top limit of around 700 miles per hour.

⨂ INHUMAN STRENGTH — Rogue often referred to be the "tank" of the X-Men team. In the series, she initiates an attack on a facility in pursuit of information from general thrunderbolt Ross. Ross reveals that the facility was constructed to enclose the Hulk, yet Rogue effortlessly breaches its defenses. She navigates through the facility with ease, easily dispatching military personnel, and handling tanks as if they were mere toys. AKA bitch is OP.

OVERALL GENERAL PLAN FOR ROGUE:

PHEW ALRIGHT. so with rogue, she is currently a "villain" or should i say, she's been leaning towards the villain side. it's a little hard to explain as to why without going into spoilers of x-men '97. but in order to talk about my plans for her, i kinda have to, so i'll be as vague as a possibly can.

due to some serious, heavy stuff that happened in her canon, rogue leaned back to her villain/evil side, but not fully. the series itself kinda ended in a cliffhanger to where the fandom is like," so.... is rogue good again? or...? what's going on here, what's happening?"

so with that being said, i've been roleplaying her dangling with her being good and being bad. she still doesn't know if she should be team charles xavier or team magneto. therefore, while rogue has been friendly with some of the chosen here, she is still very wary with everyone, she doesn't completely trust everyone 100%, and she definitely doesn't trust the ai/robots/computers of ANY kind. and i would get into why (besides the fact that lol robots kill mutants), but again. super big spoiler of her extreme anger for them.

THAT BEING SAID, i am/have been working towards rogue going through a hero arc. right now, yeah, she is iffy and kinda evil, but i want her to eventually turn good again and return to being that lovely caring x-man that we all know and love. i'm not planning on dropping this crazy lady anytime soon, so definitely looking forward to a slow-burn of her earning people's trust and have her changing and going through growth of her being a good superhero.

so i am definitely looking for some people who will help rogue in this journey along the way. help her see that not all humans are terrible and discriminatory, and hey, maybe even teach her that not all robots are bad. that'll be cool, too, lol. so postive CR and neg CR are very much welcomed!

PLANS FOR ROGUE THIS MONTH:

so rogue is going to be a bit injured due to her fight with fauna. and her hero suit is going to be completely ruined. which is SUPER SUCKY because of her absorbing powers. so rogue is going to be roaming around in bandages, in her panties, and being covered in a blanket because she is still in the poor side when it comes to wealth in this game, so she won't have too many clothes. she will attempt to go to clothing stores to find something, but with the locals being assholes, she won't get very far. i may do a log with her trying to find clothes, or maybe ask people if they can spare her some extra clothes.

as for the carnival/tdm, she'll be around patrolling, to make sure everything is running smoothly. i'm not going to top-level with her but i will her tag around.

Background: Claude is, unbeknownst to anyone, a biracial noble on both sides: in Fodlan, the european-proxy he was brought here from, he led a nation as Duke von Riegan, all the while disguising his identity as Prince Khalid of the ottoman-empire proxy of Almyra. Claude's a canny politician, an ambitious schemer, and deep-down has very noble aspirations of ending xenophobia and encouraging peace. He's cagey and secretive behind his charming mask, but ultimately treasures the company of other people, even if it's difficult for him to get close to anyone.

Abilities: Claude is a wordsmith and a tactician, as well as a master archer, wyvern rider, and maker of medicines and poisons. He's also very good at chess, and is as obnoxious about it as you would expect.

Plans: I know I've been talking about this for ages LOL but now that I've finally gotten my proofs in and approved AND the world isn't falling apart anymore... Claude is expanding the Apothecary with an attached greenhouse and just a bigger shop in general! He's in the market to hire Chosen to work, forage, etc., etc., if you'd like to CR build that way. Otherwise, Claude will continue working to solve the mysteries of this place with his CR and being his nosy little self. Personally, I'd also love for him to make new CR, strengthen old ones, and continue his emotional journey. He's going to be grappling with his own death for some time now post-Gnosia event, and is increasingly twitchy and paranoid as a result of it reopening some old wounds.

How can you run into my character? Claude owns the local apothecary, where you can find marijuana, salves, tinctures, herbs, bitters, and his very own blends of tea. You can also find him foraging and farming for the ingredients that he uses both on his own plot of land and in the fields outside of city limits. He flies Zafeera, his enormous wyvern, on a daily basis, is a general busybody around the city, and often can be found training with his bow & arrow and sword. He's also usually found buying food from vendors, as he rarely cooks his own (he's bad at it). I can make up an excuse for him to be pretty much anywhere!

Crime: Being involved in Organized Crime

Background: Tsuna was once a bit of a loser, bad at school and sports and no real ambition to do anything. Then one day, a two-year-old who is also the greatest hitman in the world shows up on his doorstep, telling him that, due to family trees and mafia shenanigans, he is the next heir to the Vongola mafia family. And then Reborn, the hitman, shoots Tsuna in the head with a magic bullet that gives him super powers and we are off to the races. Eventually the series transitions from a gag manga to a battle manga, and Tsuna matures a little bit, learns to fight for what's important and grow into a leader who is one day going to reform the mafia. But he'd really just like to have a normal life.

While his scope might be more limited than your average shonen protagonist, Tsuna is very much a shonen protagnist, dedicated to protecting his friends and doing his best to help where he can. He can come across as a bit of a wimp and tends to panic easily, but when his back's against the wall, he pulls through as someone who can be relied upon. He doesn't ask for trouble but it follows him home anyway.


Abilities: Tsuna's main source of power is his Dying Will Flames, which are a source of energy that allow him to call upon his Dying Will to fight. He can use the flames to fight and fly mostly. His flames are Orange and have the power of Harmonization.

Plans:
-With things seemingly restored to normal? Tsuna is going to be reaching out to people to make sure they're okay. And maybe planning a hang out day, where they can go to the beach or the arcade or whatever's around to just relax at.

-He might try to find a way to reach out to the AI to see if it's okay? Restored or not. That stuff is a little beyond him though.

-He'll probably want to go to the carnival but will need to be dragged to go on any rickety looking rides or spooky houses. And maybe lose money at the midway games or something

He's an empathetic individual, reliable, but pretty secretive when it comes to himself.

Abilities:
- Not a human, Aether is some sort of long-living alien being
- He's good at sword fighting, very fast, very confident in his abilities
- He can use powers of the elements, for simplicity sake he will stick to Anemo (wind) element here

Plans:
- Aether was hit with corruption during the event and he's going to be hiding for the week following the reset until he feels he's actually back to normal. Feel free for your character to notice that he wasn't around or even try to contact him. He won't answer if contacted during that one week but he'll be back afterwards acting like nothing has happened
- I want to find a job for him, he can't be doing odd jobs forever
- More friends, he always needs more friends to drag into some craziness
- He won't miss out on that carnival!!

Background: A mutant who looks like a fuzzy blue devil. He's been persecuted for his appearance back home, so he uses a holographic image inducer to look like a normal human most of the time. He can generally be a goofball who might try a bit too hard to fit in and is big on lightening the atmosphere. But he does carry plenty of troubles of his own, connected to his insecurities about how he's perceived as well as complicated family things from back home.

Abilities: His big one is that he can teleport, but he can also crawl on walls/ceilings and has a prehensile tail, in addition to being agile and trained in combat.

Plans: In general Kurt things, he's getting closet to being fully open about his blue-ness. He also is/was corrupted last month, so he'll be angy for the beginning of the month. Not sure yet if I'll post something for that, but let me know if you want a character to have a run-in with the blue boy while he's pissy!

He will definitely be partying it up at the carnival, so there will be room for shenanigans there! And he'll definitely take part in the witch hunt too. If he ends up as a witch and is allowed to use his teleportation, he'll be the 'challenge mode'. (Also he might be sentenced this month, so we'll see what happens there!)

How can you run into my character? He lives at Scott's house and he frequents the Club Building as well as the arcade. He works as the fastest pizza boy in town, and sometimes he patrols random rooftops at night.

Crime: "The crimes of the Grannvale Empire"

Background: Ethlyn is a medieval noblewoman who had to take on the responsibilities of a whole duchess when she was 12, which has shaped her into a person with a strong and honestly overdeveloped sense of responsibility, as well as no concept of time off or not being busy. She is the mom friend, whether you want her to be or not. She's trained in healing and swordfighting, has two young children left at home (she got a chance to see that they survived, but in exchange are old before their time) and also, she died before getting here.

She's also been in Expi for over a year which means that she has been through a LOT, which on the one hand means it's not easy to throw her and she gets a bit of a +1 for composure in a crisis but on the other hand, BOY SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH A LOT. She has learned to be a little better about seeking help when she needs it at least!

Abilities: Healing, s'words, horsj

Plans: Ethlyn was affected by the glitches last month and she's pretty happy that the place has been fixed so that simulacra of her family aren't running around making her sad. She will be trying to get back to her usual routine which is recruiting for the Arztenritter (so if you have a character with healing abilities or even just a passing interest in first aid she will be happy to get them into it!) and trying to keep all of your troublesome people from bleeding to death on her watch.


She's pretty friendly and likes helping new people find their feet (mom friend!) so she's easy to get involved with!

How can you run into my character? She lives in the Willow Clinic (notable for being a FARMHOUSE in a bunch of city buildings, easy to find) and is often either there or running errands for it. She also likes to go horseback riding and does sword drill without fail every day, so if you want to meet her doing any of things lmk.
