Welcome to Expiation's CR meme! This is a post where players can plot with each other on the direction they'd like to go for the month, and so on and so forth. There's a form below for you to fill out below, so get plotting!

We're now inclding an EMP element since it's an app month! TEST DRIVE/MINGLE: LOVE IS IN THE... AIR?

Aldrip's Day of Devotion celebration has become tradition among the locals. This year, to celebrate the occasion, the events center will open its doors to both locals and chosen for a special party. Strangely, not a lot of the locals seem to be attenting...well, at least it's not crowded.

The party is a little lackluster, if we're being honest. Corny cut-paper decorations, low-budget food, sappy music. The staff seem to be dedicated to making this event a roaring success, though! They'll be obsessively pairing up any single folks they see, even if that just means grabbing the closest random stranger. There will be some games, too: speed dating, a secret tunnel of love, gift giving, and things like that.

In game, the party takes place on February 17, but we'll be putting the log up on February 10, so it'll be forward-dated.

I'm a sucker for scifi/fantasy, I have over two hundred hours on BG3 and yet still haven't completed a single playthrough, and cats are baby.

Crime: Identity theft

Background: Elisabet Sobeck emerges from the woods after a thousand years to shame mankind -

Aloy is a clone who grew up as an outcast and spent the formative years of her life trying to set herself up to win a competition and there's so so much to unpack about all of that so let's just say that she's a competitive adrenaline junkie who's prone to feeling lonely but is also not prepared to be a normal social person. Listen, she's confused about why everyone she connected with in the first game are all mad at her for ghosting them for six months.

Abilities: She's a fantastic survivalist and archer, she's good with a spear, and of the clone sisters Aloy is the jock clone. Climbing and swimming and parkour, give her something active to do and she'll be into it. Aloy is practiced at mechanical salvage and dipping her toes into tinkering - she's very intelligent, within the specific framework of the world as she knows it.

Plans: I want to get myself over an OOC mental hurdle and start getting Aloy into some things with people. Right now she's curious about seeing a way to live that isn't shaped by a robot apocalypse and there's a few things I'd love to use as hooks to engage her.

-HORSES, let her go riding with people.
-Aloy has heard there's a STEM club and would like to find out what the deal is with that.
-She's heard there's a cat cafe aaaaaand I at least need to poke Laura about a log for going there with Havemercy.
-Between horses and cats it's worth noting that there's an outright Thing for Aloy and animals in that the Zero Dawn team could not save all animals from the robot apocalypse. There's animals Aloy has only seen as holograms, or as only as robotic mimics. This is another one of those things that I just have a lot of fun exploring.
-Possibly some followup on dreams.

How can you run into my character? Literally grew up in the woods and has a scene uncomfortable with how much a nice room is, so. Catch her wandering around, especially farmland since Beta has directed her attention that way. Since Aloy is a wanderer, it's easy to justify her just poking her nose into places and situations if we want an excuse for something!

Canon: Love Bullet

Crime: 'Frequent shooting of unsuspecting civilians', but unfortunately it hasn't been so frequent lately :(

Background: (initiates copypasta, the sequel) Koharu is a cupid who works under the goddess of love! She's a little reserved and quiet, but can come out of her shell once she hits her stride, and isn't the most confident of the bunch. But she is sweet and friendly, if you need a friend, and feels contractually obligated to help anyone in need... sometimes to her own detriment. tl;dr cute and friendly anime girl, really.

Abilities:

- Again, cupid, so while she looks mostly human, the pair of wings on her back ding her for not one. Her stark white hair and red eyes are also another indicator, and like yes okay we're all anime here, but if your character would think that's unusual, they're welcome to. In fact, I encourage it...
- She has a supernatural gun with magic love bullets that can't harm by any means but it WILL make you fall in love. Koharu won't be using this willy-nilly but like, it's there. If you have ideas lay 'em on me. IT'S FEBRUARY. It's the perfect month to do this.
- Yeah she knows how to use a few different kind of guns. She's still a newbie, so no BAMF gunfights here, but she's practicing.
- Also, the wings. They're large enough that Koharu is, technically, capable of flight, but she hasn't learned how to yet. This has come up a lot already and she's feeling self conscious about it now LOL. She's gotten some advice about this so she'll be trying to figure out how.

Plans: Okay I lost the will do to anything productive in January so I wanna come back full swing this month. I GOTTA. SO. My big thing is always SOLIDIFYING CR!!! Have we tagged before? How can you run into my character? Koharu works at the inn, so if you're residing there, that's an easy way to say they've bumped into each other! Or like, have passed by, seen one another in passing, etc. Otherwise I can make up an excuse to be (almost) anywhere, I'm flexible.

Crime: Being involved with Organized Crime

Background: Tsuna is the reluctant heir to the Vongola Mafia family. It's a job he'd rather not have, but sometimes the guys who don't want the job usually make for the best person to take on the job. Not that it's easy, since he has more than enough to cats to herd and self-esteem issues to get over, but he does alright. He has his Family to look after him, after all.
Tsuna is often the guy who has to play straight man to the ridiculous cast of characters in his life. He's a little reluctant and cautious, but friendly and polite. He's easy to tease but pushed into a corner, he finds his backbone. But he is warm and open and tends to accept people rather easily.

Abilities: Tsuna uses Dying Will Flames, which are basically your life force accessed by your regrets on the brink of death, and then turned into a regular Shonen power system. Tsuna has Sky Flames, which have the power of Harmonization.

Plans:
-January sure was a month, so part of February is going to have a focus on working on those dream shares.

-Feel free to have seen a boxer-clad berserker running through your dreams. Tsuna will be very apologetic

-He also might be a little more willing to talk about his mafia connections, since a lot of them were on display last month. But he'll also be lying low because of it.

-Hoping to tag around for the event. Maybe make Tsuna get out of his shell. Maybe make him work at the party due to a mix-up. He's got options but since it's a lighter month, it's time for shenanigans! Speed dating is always fun but so is getting unintentionally lost in a tunnel of love!

How can you run into my character? Tsuna can usually be found at the arcade, the TWAT club building, or at his house. He's around, doing errands and things. He also works occasionally at Claude's apothecary.

Canon: Avatar: the Last Airbender

Crime: Swindling. Yeah that one's still appropriate.

Background: A tiny blind girl who is the series tank. Both the unstoppable force and the immovable object tbh. Toph loves talking shit, hates rules and authority, and her favorite thing is a good fight. That being said, she is genuinely a good person and extremely loyal to her friends. She's very level-headed -- despite appearances, she never makes rash decisions -- and an excellent teacher. She's familiar with some hard subjects (she grew up in a worldwide century-long war) but she's still from a kid's show and she reacts accordingly.

Abilities: Toph is the most powerful earthbender in the world and maybe of all time. Earthbending is the manipulation of earth through martial arts, and she can actively sense vibrations in the ground, allowing her to 'see'. It's good for a wide range of things from fighting to construction to art. Her acuity is so good she developed the technique for metalbending, and overcame her difficulties with sand to learn sandbending. This also allows her to do some rudimentary lie detecting when speaking with others, though it's not too difficult to fool if the person has good emotional control of their physical reactions.

Toph is a phenomenal hand-to-hand fighter and uses a form based on Chow Gar Kung Fu. Her other learned skills include lying, cheating, and pretending to be a helpless blind girl. She has very good (though not supernatural) hearing and never forgets a voice.

Plans: Toph has been in game over a year now and has settled in pretty well! She's getting really homesick but she has a nice array of CR, a house she built, and she co-owns the casino Queens with Mitsuru. She's moderately wealthy in-game due to past shenanigans. I don't have any explicit plans for Toph at this point, honestly -- though she is fourteen now and I plan to do some awkward teen coming-of-age stuff just for laughs as the opportunity arises. (Anyone want to be Toph's first real crush? Goofy nerds and badasses only)

How can you run into my character? Toph gets bored easily and is constantly poking her nose into things, so it's probably not too hard. She naturally takes on a sidekick role pretty easily so I'm down for having her play backup for someone else's drama.

Canon: My Adventures with Superman

Crime: Being an illegal alien, both literally and figuratively.

Background: The Superman himself, though this version is younger and less experienced at this whole superhero thing. He's more than a little awkward and anxious since he's spent so long internalizing the fact that he isn't "normal" like most human beings and didn't know much about his alien origins until recently, but he still wants to help people and is gradually coming to terms with his abilities and his Kryptonian heritage.

Abilities: Along with the classic Superman combo of super strength/super speed/super toughness/flight, Clark has super-hearing, heat vision, x-ray vision, ice breath, a bio-electric aura, and the ability to survive in space without oxygen.

Plans: Clark is planning on using his journalism background to make a newsletter of sorts that can help newcomers and keep the people of Aldrip informed...though since January was a busy month for me (and a lot of us, it seems), the particulars kind of got away from me. I'm hoping to actually get that off the ground this month, though I'm also open to anyone who might want to collaborate with Clark on that. Aside from that, as usual, I generally like to play things by ear!

How can you run into my character? Clark will generally be out and about most places, especially as Superman and/or other people are in trouble, so that's an easy way to run into him.

Crime: child sacrifice

Background: Mid-thirties CEO of an international company whose previous stint as a magical boy went so poorly he pivoted to plans to destroy the world. Very good at pretending he's a pleasant type on the outside. He recently took an orphaned magical boy under his wing to use him against his friends (don't worry about how he was orphaned), which ended up having unpleasant consequences like feelings. Uh oh!

Abilities:
-automatically blocks any supernatural sensing powers: anything outside of the typical human baseline will react like he's not there. Any technology that tries to record him while he's using magic will also fail.

-magically charming aura that tends to make people like him more. This will work on local NPCs but obviously it's player choice for other Chosen. If you want to play with that, it's there!

Other things that will not be relevant except in extreme emergencies or secret, because he is just a normal businessman, really!!: healing magic, superhuman strength/reflexes/speed, temporary portals, hypnosis, breaking/warping, and crystal monster creation.

Plans: ALDRIP POST OFFICE IS NOW OPEN!! I will be making a post about it! HEY LOOK I DID IT. Come get your messages and packages delivered! Request an official mail box! Get a job! Looking for: sorters, delivery people, people good with birds. HE OFFERS DENTAL— also other things for his other medical tech business, he will find a spot for you.

Other things this month: I will end up shoving him into speed dating! Also with dreams still kind of clinging, don't be surprised if he keeps glancing to the side with some alarm. Just reliving some of the worst days of his life again nbd.

How can you run into my character? Businessman keeps getting busier. Though he's now set up a mail system so he can send NPCs a dang letter without having to find couriers, he still goes everywhere to chat up people for business, so he can be found pretty much wherever out on the street. He spends a fair amount of time at his two businesses, but he also spends mornings watching the courthouse, and the occasional evening at Lupin or the Inn's tavern! He has his own tiny house but he basically only goes there to eat and collapse sleep.

Also if he's shown concern for or interest in a character before, he absolutely checks in with them now and again! He does not need a reason to do this, he'll just do it apropos of nothing.

Background: vash is from a sand planet that is basically MY DUNE MY ARRAKIS including the giant sand worms, but only if everyone was spaghetti western cowboys adjacent. he's chirpy and cheery and eager to help in any way whatsoever but also doesn't actually like answering any questions about himself! totally not suspicious i swear! he is Very Normal.

Abilities: he's good at doing this successfully while making it look like he failed / only got it out of sheer luck. also he is totally willing to try (and can process) eating weird combinations of food. apart from that he has miscellaneous skillset not limited to: sharpshooting, surprisingly athletic, looking pathetic af, needs to grow at least 1000 spine, etc.

please come at me with any handwave ideas or anything fun you guys might like with this goof, he's honestly pretty easy to run into because vash is the busiest busybody you'll ever meet.

Background: As a member of the Bohemian Calamity, Rosenkrantz battles evil forces in the ever-changing Dreamscape of Rea Monde, the Realm of the Guilty. The current Dream Witch is Calamities' secondary leader, with Rosen serving as the group's primary combatant. Luna summoned Rosenkrantz as her arkana, or summoned warrior. He is one of Luna's most powerful summons, wielding the fabled Lúin of Celtchar, a bloodthirsty and fiery spear known for gradually devouring its wielder.

𝕓𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕗 𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪

While Rosen might look like a supermodel who weight-lifts as a hobby, he’s actually a bit of a slacker who dislikes working and enjoys lazing around drinking. He isn’t the slightest bit modest about his appearance, often talking about his good looks just to be annoying. He’s a bit embarrassing sometimes, especially since Rosen loves to brag about himself. However, this is just the mere surface of his personality. While he can be considerably charming when he wants to be, there’s a dark side to his personality that sharply contrasts greatly with his easy-going persona.

Combat is one of Rosen's favorite pastimes. He enjoys fighting more than drinking, and he frequently seeks out strong opponents to challenge. However, his enthusiasm for combat is not entirely genuine. He enjoys watching his opponent suffer and appears to derive sadistic pleasure from inflicting pain. When faced with powerful opponents, Rosen makes it his mission to crush their spirits in the most brutal ways possible, frequently torturing them to near-death. While Rosen is not afraid to get his hands dirty, he refuses to kill an adversary unless absolutely necessary. That is, assuming they are not a Knightmare of some kind. The only creatures not spared death are the Knightmares, who haunt the living's dreams. Those creatures must die, and Rosen will do everything in his power to fulfill his duty.

Abilities:

Fire Manipulation
Rosenkrantz has the ability to produce, manipulate, and even generate every variety of fire that exists. He may even produce a towering inferno to burn within minutes by causing the quick oxidation of materials by chemical combustion. He can also adjust the intensity of the fire, sometimes even producing a "cold flame" to cauterize wounds. While the hue of the flames might vary depending on their heat, he usually casts the red, hot flames that most people are accustomed to witnessing.

He mainly employs his fiery abilities when wielding the Lúin of Celtchar, a powerful burning red lance capable of reducing most steel to ash. Rosen is capable of wielding this lance with ease, without fear of the flames burning him. He is completely impervious to all types of fire damage, including dragon fire. Rosen can set fire to his lance with merely a thought, causing flames to spread across the weapon like an inferno. He can also employ his magic for non-combat purposes, such as lighting beacons and cooking food. Rosen can even create small familiars out of fire, but when they reach their limit, they vanish into a puff of smoke.

𝕕𝕖𝕥𝕒𝕚𝕝𝕖𝕕 𝕒𝕓𝕚𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕖𝕤

Inhuman Strength & Agility
As one would suspect, Rosen is stronger than your average person. While he’s not strong enough to lift a mountain or two, he is capable of punching through stone and rock with relative ease. His inhuman strength is an asset to him in combat, especially when facing off against the monstrous Knightmares that haunt the Dreamscape. It’s because of his strength that he has a remarkable sense of durability since it takes a lot to injure him.

He’s also shockingly agile and often likes to perform deft-defying feats in combat. While he’s not faster than a speeding train, he’s fast enough to ricochet projectiles off his lance. It should also be noted that he’s exceedingly flexible as well, enough to make a Yoga instructor quite envious. He can detach his joints at a whim in order to slip through cracks and small spaces.

Willed Immortality
When the going gets tough, Rosen gets tougher. As the Arkana of Vainglory, Rosenkrantz is capable of willing himself from the brink of death by reincarnating himself on the spot. This ability literally allows Rosenkrantz to endure the most egregious injuries that would easily kill a normal person. He can survive being disemboweled, dismembered, and even pierced through the heart with this ability. However, his Vainglory abilities come with a dangerous caveat since every time he uses this skill he loses a piece of his memories.

While he can survive being horribly mutilated and slashed to pieces, every resurrection causes his memory to fade. If he uses this ability too often within the Dreamscape, he risks the chance of erasing himself from existence entirely. This ability is a double-edged sword that Rosenkrantz doesn’t take lightly. While the ability to negate his own death is a powerful one, it’s not something he does often.

However, it does have the passive effect of keeping him remarkably well-preserved since he cannot age. His current gentlemanly form is nothing more than a glamour his master, Luna the Dream Witch, prefers.

Plans: As usual, I welcome positive and negative CR alike! I really want Rosen to meet more people before going on a character arc of his own. It would be nice to get this bastard out of his comfort zone and have him start caring about others. Right now, Rosen only cares about himself and his own enjoyment but I would love for him to grow out of that.

Plans: This month Fandaniel is officially opening the doors of the Aetherochemical Research Facility to other Chosen. It's always been a public space, but now that he has all of it he intends to use it.

He will probably appear at the celebration and relentlessly flirt with anyone who looks like they could hurt him. Expect the sexless, teasing, "don't I annoy you, don't you want to hit me?" kinda flirting, though, not genuine flirting.

Eventually, I'd really like to get him more into a villain mode. So if you need a freaky scientist to torture or torment your character, I've got an offer for you.

How can you run into my character? When he is not at the Facility, he's out and about in town people watching.

NOTE Fandaniel is usually a playful, whimsical eccentric and as much comedy relief as villain but this character can get very intense. his Dark Past that he keeps his lips zipped about is that he grew up in an orphanage until being selected as experiment fodder for the eye of michael, a cult worshipping plants (living beings serving as biological generators so humanity can survive on an alien planet). wolfwood was an s+ subject! which means he was perhaps the only test subject to retain consciousness/humanity after the experimentation (which was done with the ultimate goal of making humanity more adaptable/survivable). some individuals were lucky(?) enough to get a sneak peek into all this in last month's dream event.

Abilities: rootin' tootin' gun shootin'. he's got some superhuman strength from all the experimentation. he's also still in possession of five (5) vials that he brought from his home planet that contain a regenerative fluid that heals all wounds/injuries, even fatal ones.

Plans: wolfwood is slowly starting to come out of his shell! i'd like to spend the month highlighting that he's getting kind of lonely, here. when he lived at the orphanage he was always surrounded by people, and then after that he was always on the job so to speak, without much uh free time. now with this half-normal existence in aldrip, he's feeling stir-crazy. too much time to sit around and think about the Horrors that the AI insists on reminding everyone of.

i'd love to keep building on existing CR (especially post-dream event!!), and make some new CR too!! bonus points if your character has a store/works at a store that has to do with food or animals. his home planet doesn't have much in the way of earth wildlife, and food is scarce, so he's curious about all that.

Abilities: God powers with some reductions to the item creation power being only hand-held items. But also he has other abilities like recombination - which just allows him to manipulate matter at the subatomic level and recreate it. Decomposition is the opposite in that he can break things down much the same. This applies to organic and inorganic matter so, you know. Missing a limb, he's got you. Want to get rid of some nasty illness or just a cold? He also got u. Broke a bone?? He is like Bob the builder and can fix it!

Plans: Shigeru is struggling to love himself and just get over the huge betrayal he feels after what happened back home. He's really trying to keep it together but it's not going well at all?! But I want him to just come to accept himself for who/what he is but also even as a god he has his phobia to deal with still so, yeah, maybe doing something with that too?! Background: Ethlyn is a medieval noblewoman who had to take on the responsibilities of a whole duchess when she was 12, which has shaped her into a person with a strong and honestly overdeveloped sense of responsibility, as well as no concept of time off or not being busy. She is the mom friend, whether you want her to be or not. She's trained in healing and swordfighting, has two young children left at home (she got a chance to see that they survived, but in exchange are old before their time) and also, she died before getting here.

She's also been in Expi for over a year which means that she has been through a LOT, which on the one hand means it's not easy to throw her and she gets a bit of a +1 for composure in a crisis but on the other hand, BOY SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH A LOT. She has learned to be a little better about seeking help when she needs it at least!

Abilities: Healing, s'words, horsj.

Plans: Ethlyn, having recently helped organize a holiday party, will probably take it upon herself to improve some of the decorations and will definitely rope in anyone who seems even halfway-willing to help her. She'll continually protest to the staff that she's married (she is! yes, her husband is dead, but she's dead too) but since she's going to be there it's entirely possible that she'll get harangued into doing some kind of speed dating or tunnel-of-let's-just-get-on-with-it.

(Archetypal buoyant JRPG Hero in his post-universe saving mentor era, extremely burnt out, but somehow still a guileless do-gooder who wants to do fetch quests. He also has cute bunny ears and a little cotton tail.)

Abilities: Combat Medic & Tailor/Leather Worker. Good at weapons. Healer of considerable skill. Grows flowers from his skin that possess healing capabilities. Produces Light magic that can be used offensively. "The Echo" which grants him, among other things, the ability to know when You Have A Quest For Him and to resonate with people/places/things and perceive past events.

Hi! First off, want to say you're an amazing coder and I've loved every code of yours that I've used. They're extremely fun and easy to wrangle into doing whatever I want them to.

That said, I'd love to get CR with Viktor! I've got two characters on offer: Heimerdinger from Arcane, aka a 314 year old furby scientist type guy, and Gwen Poole from Marvel Comics, who's a real world fangirl who inserted herself into the comic book universe and turned herself into a superhero. Reading your plotting comment, I feel like Gwen would mesh well with Viktor, but I'm happy to get CR with either/both combinations. Background: Kotone was the leader of a school club called SEES who was tasked with destroying manifestations of the human subconscious that threatened the whole world. She loves talking to people and is very outgoing, usually hiding any of her own pain or sadness behind a bright smile.

Abilities: (cw: suicidal imagery) Kotone can summon a plethora of angels and other assorted gods/demons from mythology using a gun-shaped summoning tool. This means she can heal, do damage, and do a few other cool things to stun an enemy! Although she does summon her Personas by shooting herself in the head, so. You know.

Plans: Kotone has been happily dating Scott X-Men for the past year and a half, and he'll unfortunately be gone for a canon update right over V-Day so she'll technically be single during Day of Devotion!! Meaning the city will probably pair her up, and she'll smile all the way through the process, but eventually let people know that she's not available. Beyond that, with Scott's absence, she's going to be reverting back somewhat to pretending that everything's fine and nothing's wrong, so regressing a bit into her duplicity crime instead of expressing how upset she is.

Crime: Infanticide. I'd like to say it was done under duress but it wasn't and she's not normal.

Background:A2 is a combat android belonging to an elite squadron of combat androids known as YoRHa, created to fight in a (unbeknownst to them) endless war against a machine scourge created by aliens who wanted to conquer Earth. Unfortunately she was also a prototype for newer and more efficient versions of herself, which sucks for her. After completing her first and only mission, where she was the only survivor, she is marked for death as a deserter and has spent her whole life killing her pursuers and the machines. She's plagued with feelings of regret and worthlessness due to survivor's guilt and the overall pointlessness of her existence, and her one-woman war against the machines is essentially a long term suicide mission.

That's Nier babe!

Personality-wise, A2 is prickly and verges into combative and disagreeable if something rubs her the wrong way. Once she warms up a little, she's socially awkward with flashes of defeated grief as people get to know her better. Has an honor system, despite being branded a traitor - kind of a broken-down knight in many ways.

Abilities: Despite looking like a dainty Victorian ghost, A2 is very good at murder.
- Extreme strength, speed, endurance: A2 is a tank. She has killed countless numbers of machines, taken on whole swarms and Goliath-class machines by herself, and killed pursuers who were specifically designed to be better versions of her. She is extremely strong, fast, and despite her external damage, is very resilient. She contains nanomachines in her body that repair internal damage and can power through most injuries as long as they aren't to her black box or head. She can bleed out! But that requires her getting an injury severe enough and, well.

- Weapon mastery: A2 is an acrobatic and elegant combatant, and as an Attacker model, is designed for close-range battle. She is a master swordswoman, but is also able to utilize bracers, spears, daggers, and even her bare hands in a pinch in order to fight.

- B-mode: A2 is able to overheat her body for temporary periods of time in order to maximize her speed and strength, though requires recovery time in the aftermath.

- Pod: Pod 042 accompanies A2 just about everywhere. Pod possesses navigation and long-range firing capabilities.

Plans: A2 is a murder ballerina who has killed countless numbers of enemy combatants (and a baby - long story), but she is also a 4 year old metal baby. She's never experienced anything that wasn't the neverending misery of fighting without purpose, and finds herself without purpose here! She isn't sure what to do, so my plans for her are to experience as much as she can. Eating things is new, most animals are new, society is new, clothing... is not new but she does need that. Humans are especially new: in her version of Earth they died long ago, but she was designed to love and idolize them, so experiencing her version of God as just wandering around and asking her questions is causing a lot of culture shock.

Her cr has gotten off on a great start and so I'd like to double back and build on a lot of it this month! I'm still working through dream threads, and will continue to do so through the month, but they will leave her even more withdrawn than she already is, which is significant. That being said, I will be pushing her out of her comfort zone. Planning on posting a log for her this month that'll just be day to day things. Learning about the farm, riding a pony??? Following around a pack of wolves and being a cryptid in the woods (don't ask), fishing, going to the library, etc. These are all novel things for her honestly. She'll also be looking for a job. Does anyone need a beautiful haunted ghost of a killer android to run errands or something... she'll do it.

Other than that, would love to get her mixed up in the Day of Devotion antics. She will have no idea what's going on and be a terrible date, but she is very pretty. So there's that.

A2 bristled like a cat at the idea of living in the inn with other people and promptly walked off into the woods to only occasionally appear in Aldrip proper at random and in the most unnerving ways possible. Crime: I'm just going to summarize it: failure to relay a dangerous physical condition due to repression and shame and leading to the almost death of his Captain and injury to his person (iykyk). Hays Code mandated secret third thing.

Background: I'm going to pretend most of you don't know at least a whiff of Star Trek because it is in the Western cultural zeitgeist and just say:

☾ Chief Science Officer and First Officer on the USS Enterprise, a Federation starship that is currently carrying out a five year mission into deep space. Their goal is explore, do a little diplomacy, and not die. He currently serves under Captain James Tiberius Kirk, but formerly served under Captain Christopher Pike on the same vessel.

☾ Is the only one of his kind (to his knowledge) due to the immense need for medical intervention to produce a child that is half-Human and half-Vulcan.

☾ He does not advertise that he is half-Human, unless he feels comfortable saying so and/or is comfortable with you (fucking good luck, babe!).

☾ Known for his adherence to logic and reason, which are tenets of the teachings of Surak (who reshaped the entirety of Vulcan life and culture). As a result, he is supremely emotionally repressed (Vulcans are a very emotional peoples - much more so than humans), practices daily meditation for centering purposes, and maintains a relatively flat affect/voice. He is more Vulcan than most Vulcans externally, due to his being ostracized for most of his life upon his supremely xenophobic home planet (Vulcan).

☾ Just really fucking weird about Jim Kirk.

☾ This is mutual, actually.

☾ Is actually secretly very gentle and very sensitive. This doesn't mean he isn't also a huge bitch and hilarious in a way most people don't notice. Most of the time people just think he's intolerable. He's just a cactus, don't be a space racist.

☾ Has endured a lot during the course of this five year mission, but he's ride or die if you put the work in. You're gonna have to put in the work.

Abilities:

☾ Very knowledge in a number of fields (particularly astronomy, physics, mathematics, botany, geology, coding - basically mostly anything related to STEM). However, this does not mean he is also not extremely versed in things related to engineering! He is not the best upon his ship, but he's great with fixing the little fiddly bits and rewiring electric components. He can also sight read music, play the Vulcan lyre and the piano, and really loves 4D chess. It's like advanced chess. 3D chess is for babies.

☾ Takes very thorough notes in incomprehensible shorthand to most people.

☾ Has a lot of interesting physiology going on. Most notably: Vulcans are roughly three times stronger than your average human and have unhinged amounts of stamina. Can run longer distances than humans without perishing (literally, figuratively). He is a touch telepath and maintains mental shielding as much as possible so as to respect the privacy of others (and also protect himself). You're going to have to check out his landing page on his journal for permissions and more information, trust me.

☾ Has an eidetic memory. In other words: he has perfect recall. Can recite dictionary definitions word-for-word. A walking encyclopedia, really.

☾ His diagnosis of L'tak Terai (or a Vulcan equivalent of dyslexia) allows him the ability to not get all the way fucked through spacetime when shown multiple, branching outcomes and possibilities and overlaps all at once. Cool! He did have a mental breakdown for a minute over the enormous pressure of what he was shown chiefly because he knew he was like an integral part of trying to fix it, but that's okay. He got better.

☾ Knows a thing or two about languages and encryption. Has taught a small number of people various codes (like Morse Code and various branches thereof).

Plans: Gonna toss up a STEM Club Mingle in the near future, which will allow folks to get to know all the fellow nerds. I am going to do this bimonthly, hopefully, unless I perish for some reason. I am going to also try to do a STEM Symposium on the off months. Which, again, will consist of a bunch of nerds talking about subjects of interest. Talks will be interactive. Din, are you implying this is like a TED Talk? Yes. Anyway: any sort of input is welcome, so long as it falls under that umbrella (e.g., medical sciences, botany, soft sciences like philosophy). Ethics when it comes to STEM fields also super counts. I also encourage an interplay of arts and sciences (e.g., development of craft-specific tools to better suit the hand making them - like an adapted loom!).

How can you run into my character?

☾ STEM Club! It's located in the Club Building.

☾ At the library with an absurd number of books he's returning or checking out.

☾ At the docks meditating.

☾ Feeding various cats in hidden locations and taking dedicated notes (hard to catch him doing this, but possible).

☾ Scanning objects and items with his tricorder (a very fancy handheld computer of sorts) to determine more information about them. Totally incomprehensible to most people. Requires some understanding to use and interpret, ostensibly.

☾ Probably glued to Jim. Where Jim is, Spock usually is too.

☾ On the Dark Web. He's one of the Admins and originally concocted the idea. He fiddles around with it frequently and can indeed dispense more information to people who join STEM and/or may need to make use of them (though, most will just receive the civilian models). It's designed to transmit information quickly and with more privacy than whatever the tablets afford (probably). Generally has no storage for this reason.

Background: Toxically overprotective dad and commander of a semi-secret militia in post-apocalyptic Moscow. The year is 2035 and the surface of the Earth was sent into a nuclear winter marking the end of WWIII. All survivors fled into the metro system where a new society rife with civil war and corruption has been formed. He's a former Spetsnaz GRU colonel and, as such, is only now trying to get over a decades long obsession with occupying enemy forces.

Personality-wise, he's intolerant, temperamental, and paranoid! But he's also heavily invested in maintaining order and protecting his "people" and, after almost a year in Expi, his fellow Chosen are starting to become his people, too. 🫡

Abilities: Normal human with tons of military and survival experience!

Plans: STARES INTO THE CAMERA. Look, I am notoriously bad at pre-planning, but after hiatusing for January, I am going to do my damndest to throw myself into everything I can this month. From inducting more people into the fold of Aldrip defense crew to silly day of devotion mingle stuff to starting up some new CR, I'm here for all of it.

How can you run into my character? He works half at the casino and half at Silco's strip club, as security in both locations. He can also easily be found at the Last Drop, spends a lot of time scouting the surrounding area for monsters, and is a general busybody with any perceived changes in town, so I can pretty much fudge him being wherever.

I remember he and Ethlyn talked a little bit about being parents in a dangerous world (and maybe about being dead??) and Visas definitely has experience with an apocalypse and also trying to get by in a shattered world (or rather, postwar galaxy, but same principle).

Background: Echo was the bodyguard of this godawful perv in a family of assassins. She didn't consider herself to be a person for more reasons than just the horrid levels of abuse she suffered. Because of this, she never learned how to people or got experience with having and responding to feelings. She's got the personhood thing figured out now, at least. Echo's super curious and likes to people-watch to try to figure things out.

Abilities: She's a very skilled swordfighter. Like, there are guns in her world and she still goes with light blades. She also has really impressive stamina and is good at doing surveillance and info gathering work. She has accelerated healing, too, and can survive most injures that would otherwise be fatal.

Plans: FRIENDS! Echo really wants to make friends! She doesn't completely get how it works, or at least what sorts of relationship are friendships (long story short, someone got her confused on it). It's only her second month back so that's most of what I want to focus on, and maybe also get her established in whatever she does on a day to day basis besides watching people and taking notes.

How can you run into my character? LOLLLLL I forgot this was next! Like I just said, if something is going on, even if you think it may be mundane, Echo could easily be somewhere she thinks is out of the way and observing things.

Plans:
- Is JUST starting to let himself believe "hm maybe I really do put Lucrecia on a pedestal too much", so Vincent is slowly beginning his journey of accepting just how flawed she was and that he should simp less
- Gonna be mega-depresso upon learning Peter and Sephiroth are gone, but he will battle against all instinct to go into a sleep coma about it. Look at that character growth.
- He is going to TRY to stay out of the pseudo-Valentine's Day shenanigans, but I'm always down for tomfoolery
- Currently also trying to mitigate the whole "what if I lose control of my beast form again" issue.

Ayo! I would be interested in Ethlyn and Vince having some interaction (she will absolutely give him a clinic tour if he turns up one day) and also Visas and Vince, for haunted people with red & black color schemes. She's got issues of a different kind w/r/t depression naps (depression-kill-the-galaxy) and capacity for hurting people (still kind of thinks it's a good idea if she personally thinks they suck) so I think they could have some interesting interaction about it. And she'll actually be actively exploring some of the Valentine's stuff, so that could be a good way for them to run into each other again!

Plans: I'm going to be tossing Scott on a canon update staring Feb 14th! So, going to be gone for Valentine's Day and probably most of the mingle, but he'll come back in a week or so as a brand spanking new X-Man! Officially Cyclops, complete with visor and uniform. So, I'm totally down if you want to meet Scott when he comes back! He'll be happy to see his friends (and not want to admit he forgot everyone) and filled with some trauma (things aren't peaceful anymore and Alex is dead) but that's normal right--

Background: Stupidly rich and beautiful heiress- or should I say the Actual Boss now? - of a shady mega corporation who is ridiculously intelligent yet doesn't understand how to eat a hamburger without utensils (commoner food). She's been preoccupied with fighting these monsters called Shadows in her world and trying to erase her family's monumental fuck-ups and has been like that since she was a child.

Abilities: Mitsuru has the ability to summon a handy little thing called a “Persona”. They are fundamentally like alter egos that possess incredible abilities. In Mitsuru’s Persona’s case, it is called called Artemisia. Its specialties are ice, healing, and foul status inflicting magic. It also possesses scanning and analysis ability, although this isn’t quite as strong. Personas are summoned with a tool called an evoker, which basically resembles a gun. (cw for self-harm, suicidal imagery) It is used to summon the Persona by pointing the device at your head as if shooting yourself, thus breaking down all mental barriers and fears and allowing it to emerge.

Plans: I am rubbish at planning stuff but totally here for cringey v-day shenanigans at the party and speed dating. Other than that, new cr always welcome and I would love to deepen existing cr.

How can you run into my character? As well being a co-owner of the casino, she has just opened a new tea/book shop. Cosy and classy and catering for all your tea snob and book nerd needs. It also has a cute space for playing board games and stuff like that. She has just recently posted to the network about starting a book club.

Background:

Born a spirit fox, Kurama became a powerful demon over hundreds of years in pursuit of ruling a portion of demon world. He kind of threw that dream out the window and vanished a thousand years ago, before nearly dying while in hiding. To escape his pursuer and survive, Kurama "reincarnated" himself into an unborn human baby. After his dad died he got too attached to his human mother to bail on her as intended before she became terminally ill. So, he decided to try to trade his own life for her's and he's been kind of doing that with everyone he cares about ever since. Unlike his teammates, Kurama chose humanity over power, embracing his human form (and mundane life) despite the hit this took to his demonic strength.

dream share details from January

If anyone would like to dream share with their character's memories, let me know! Otherwise, anyone can learn more about Kurama and his whole simultaneously human and demon thing. This kind of event I prefer to plot something specific to the individual character and what's interesting to the player, so don't have very firm thoughts set up. There's a lot to offer with him between trying to rule over demon world and later fully embracing humanity.

Obviously, if you're canon familiar enough to want something specific, I'm happy to work with that. I love dream/memory shares and I'm always happy to make something work for CR opportunities. If you're not familiar, we can hash something out.

Kurama is extremely versatile so he is good for CR with most anyone that isn't just soulless and evil. He's especially well equipped to deal with characters going through a redemption arc that might need some encouragement! I also love throwing him at other nonhumans in general.

How can you run into my character?
Kurama runs the farm!

He is an insomniac/early riser. He's a nerd, a hacker, a plant expert, and a tactician. He'll be involved with the clinic and the apothecary as well. He's big on information gathering and he's going to want to learn whatever he can about this place and how they got here. Any overlap in those categories is bound to give an opening to meet! I also want to get him involved in STEM, for anyone whose character may be easier to connect to in that way.

Main topics Kurama will be interested in doing right now is leaning into the community survival aspects Richard has been proposing, and facilitating shared information through characters vocal about that.

Other things to know about Kurama for CR opportunities:

• he has taken over the farm
• he is teaching anyone interested about growing plants: gardening and/or farming skills
• teaching survival skills, plant identification with regards to what is safe to eat or use for medicinal purposes
• basic firstaid especially in relation to medicinal plant use.
• he will be taking a break from spirit awareness stuff, but with Kuwabara arriving, he'll probably start directing humans to him on that topic
• getting involved with the apothecary and developing CR with his coworkers there!

Team Urameshi has also moved into a naturhaus in the woods, so anyone is welcome to find themselves discovering that while out there. They are in the process of adding a floor, and will soon be getting the temple as well.

Thanks to unexpected continued Developments, he may be spotted running around in his original fox form occasionally, as well.
